Abstract

Efforts to improve disaster preparedness have not been fully implemented at SD Muhammadiyah Sapen. In 2022, a joint disaster awareness campaign was conducted, but it only involved 30 teachers and 3 classes. Disaster preparedness at SD Muhammadiyah Sapen is identified as still very inadequate, given the large number of school staff who lack knowledge and skills regarding disasters, the absence of sustained integration of disaster education, the lack of regular simulations, and insufficient disaster-related facilities and infrastructure. The history of disasters and their impacts at the school highlight the importance of implementing the Disaster-Resilient Educational Unit (SPAB). SPAB serves as an effective tool for providing information, knowledge, and skills to school community members regarding disaster response. Implementing SPAB can enhance the preparedness of school community members, strengthen the school’s capacity, and thereby reduce risks during disasters. This aligns with UPY’s roadmap for community service, specifically the development of disaster-resilient regions. The activities will be conducted in accordance with the three pillars of SPAB: safe school facilities, disaster management in schools, and education on disaster prevention and risk reduction. Implementation methods include lectures, group discussions, practical exercises, and simulations. Activity outcomes include disaster risk assessments, school action plans, early warning systems, evacuation plans, the formation of school disaster response teams, standard operating procedures for disaster emergencies, table top exercise (TTX), and disaster simulations. The evaluation of the SPAB programme demonstrated an improvement in the knowledge and skills of school communities in dealing with disasters. The Community Service Programme (PKM) of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) at Universitas PGRI Yogyakarta has proven that a collaborative and school-based approach is effective in enhancing schools' resilience to disasters.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of early childhood education (ECE) teachers and parents in delivering appropriate sex education and toilet training through the use of flannel puppet media. The partners’ primary challenges were limited understanding and the lack of suitable instructional media for young children. The program was conducted over three days at PAUD Puspa Melati, Kaliwates, Jember, involving 20 participants from ten ECE institutions. The implementation methods included participatory training and demonstrations on the creation and utilization of the media. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in teaching body awareness and personal hygiene concepts in an engaging manner. The program produced 20 sets of educational flannel puppets ready for classroom use. Overall, the initiative proved effective in strengthening collaboration between teachers and parents in fostering early childhood character development.

Abstract

The development of digital technology opens up significant opportunities for MSMEs, but women entrepreneurs still face limitations in technology literacy and utilization. This Community Service activity aims to strengthen the capacity of Pawon Akbar's women entrepreneurs in realizing digital entrepreneurship. Implementation methods include outreach, training, and mentoring on product packaging using vacuum sealers, Google Maps registration, WhatsApp Business account creation, and QRIS digital payment implementation. The activity results indicate an increase in partners' digital knowledge and skills as well as optimization of production, marketing, and business management aspects. Evaluation was conducted by comparing conditions before and after the program. The activity outputs include more hygienic product packaging, digital business visibility, and a cashless payment system. This activity was concluded to be effective in increasing the independence and competitiveness of women entrepreneurs in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The development of modern web technologies requires developers to build user interfaces that are interactive, responsive, and visually appealing in an efficient manner. However, beginner developers often encounter difficulties in managing code structure and interface design effectively. This webinar and workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding and skills in developing modern portfolio websites using React and Tailwind CSS. The activities were conducted online through webinar sessions and hands-on workshops (live coding), involving 26 participants. Evaluation was carried out using pre-tests and post-tests to measure learning improvement. The results indicated an increase in the average correct response rate from 77% in the pre-test to 91.6% in the post-test, representing a 14.6% improvement. In addition, participant feedback showed a high level of satisfaction, with 54.2% reporting being very satisfied and 33.3% satisfied. The output of this activity was a responsive portfolio website serving as the participants’ digital identity.

Abstract

Arabic language education at the An Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School in Makassar faces challenges in improving the Arabic language literacy of students, particularly in speaking and writing skills. This community service program aims to strengthen Arabic literacy thru extracurricular activities based on direct practice and experience. The program implementation methods include interactive training, thematic discussions, the use of digital learning applications, and the strengthening of teaching methods for instructors. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in the students' Arabic language skills, with 75% of the students feeling more confident in using Arabic after attending the training. Additionally, this program successfully created a supportive learning community, increased social interaction among students, and produced learning modules that can be used for Arabic language instruction in other pesantren. This program not only enhances Arabic language skills but also builds the character and self-confidence of the students as part of their identity.

Abstract

The Program for Increasing Coffee Value Added through Creative Coffee-Based Product Innovation represents a strategic effort to strengthen the local economy based on regional flagship commodities. To date, coffee has predominantly been marketed in the form of raw materials or primary processed products, resulting in relatively low value added for farmers and business actors. Through the development of innovative creative coffee-based processed products, this program aims to enhance economic value, product competitiveness, and the sustainability of coffee-related enterprises. The activities focus on improving human resource capacity through training in processing technology, packaging, and quality standardization. The resulting product innovations are expected to expand market segmentation and increase community income. Thus, this program contributes to sustainable local economic development by optimizing local potential and promoting community welfare.

Abstract

Mastering modern full-stack technology is crucial, yet students often struggle to integrate frontend and backend systems using React Vite and Laravel. This community service program aims to bridge this gap through intensive training titled "Building Student Management Application Using React Vite and Laravel". Held online on January 6, 2026, the activity combined webinars and practical workshops attended by 38 participants. The program's effectiveness was evidenced by evaluation results showing an increase in participant competence, with average scores rising from 82.5 (pre-test) to 88.67 (post-test). Furthermore, feedback indicated a participant satisfaction rate of 96.8%. The final output was the participants' success in independently building a functional student management application.

Abstract

Early childhood literacy is a fundamental foundation for supporting children’s language, cognitive, social, and emotional development. However, limited literacy facilities, particularly the availability of educational reading books appropriate to children’s developmental stages, remain a challenge in several preschool (PAUD) institutions. This community service activity aimed to strengthen preschool literacy through the provision of educational reading books at TK Maca Pasir Putih, Pemenang District, North Lombok Regency. The activity was implemented participatively in three stages: preparation (observation and discussion with partners), implementation (provision and utilization of educational books in learning activities), and evaluation (observation and discussion with teachers). The results indicated an increase in children’s reading interest and engagement in literacy activities. Children showed greater enthusiasm in reading, storytelling, and vocabulary recognition. Teachers also stated that the books supported daily lesson plans (RPPH), enabling better integration of literacy into thematic learning. Overall, this activity contributed positively to improving the quality of preschool.

Abstract

This community service program aims to assist Pesantren Darul Istiqomah Kepohbaru in developing an eco-friendly curriculum based on ecotheology as an effort to support sustainable education. Islamic boarding schools have significant potential through their spiritual values, mutual cooperation culture, and environmental assets that can be integrated into ecological learning. The method used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), which includes the stages of inculturation, discovery, design, define, and reflection involving caregivers, teachers, and senior students. The activities were conducted through intensive workshops that provided participants with an understanding of ecotheology concepts and the preparation of environmentally friendly lesson plans. The results show an increase in ecological awareness among the pesantren community and the development of a draft ecotheology-based curriculum that integrates environmental values into learning and students’ daily activities. This program demonstrates that the ABCD approach is effective in optimizing local assets and strengthening an environmentally conscious pesantren culture oriented toward sustainable education aligned with Islamic values.

Abstract

Bullying remains prevalent in schools and negatively affects students’ emotional, social, and academic development. Limited understanding of its forms, causes, impacts, and prevention strategies makes students vulnerable as both perpetrators and victims. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of anti-bullying socialization and education in improving knowledge and awareness among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 19 Palu. The method employed a one-group pre-test–post-test design with a health education approach, involving 107 students selected through total sampling. Instruments included questionnaires, observation sheets, and documentation. Activities were conducted in three stages: observation, implementation (presentations, educational videos, discussions, simulations, interactive games, post-test), and evaluation. Results demonstrated a significant increase in students’ understanding of bullying definitions, physical, verbal, social, and cyber forms, and preventive measures. Observations also indicated enhanced student confidence in discussing and rejecting bullying behaviors. In conclusion, the program proved effective and is recommended to be implemented regularly to foster a safe and bullying-free school environment
