Abstract

This study examines media literacy levels and violence exposure among eighth-grade students prior to a socialization intervention, and describes changes in comprehension, attitude, and practical knowledge following the program. Employing a pre-post descriptive survey design, data were collected from 32 students of class VIII B at SMP Negeri 1 Mertoyudan, Magelang, before a socialization program titled 'Bijak Menonton, Bijak Bertindak' (Watch Wisely, Act Wisely), and from 31 students in a post-socialization questionnaire. Pre-socialization findings revealed that 93.8% of students owned personal smartphones, 59.4% used them for three or more hours daily, and TikTok was the dominant platform. While 56.3% encountered violent or negative content at least occasionally, only 21.9% formally identified themselves as violence victims and despite behaviourally reported victimization rates being substantially higher. Media literacy was limited where only 43.8% of students reported knowing appropriate digital response steps. Following the socialization, which used the KPH (Kenali–Pahami–Hindari) framework with animated video, structured presentation, and a gamified quiz, it showed over 90% of students recognized victimization signs, over 85% knew appropriate responses to negative social media content, and the majority reported increased caution in interpersonal and online conduct. These findings highlight the persistent gap between violence experience and recognition, and demonstrate that interactive, framework-based media literacy socialization can meaningfully improve adolescent violence literacy in a single session.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of social support and resilience on subjective well-being among late adolescents who have experienced romantic breakups in Karawang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The sample consisted of 204 late adolescents aged 18–21 years in Karawang, selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected through psychological scales measuring subjective well-being, social support, and resilience, namely the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) for subjective well-being, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) for social support, and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) for resilience.. Instrument validity and reliability were confirmed, and data were analyzed using multiple linear regression after meeting classical assumption tests. The results showed that social support and resilience simultaneously have a significant effect on subjective well-being (F = 36.393; p < 0.05). Partially, social support (t = 4.882; p < 0.05) and resilience (t = 4.339; p < 0.05) both have positive and significant effects on subjective well-being. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.266) indicates that 26.6% of subjective well-being is explained by these variables, while the remaining 73.4% is influenced by other factors. These findings suggest that higher social support and resilience contribute to better subjective well-being among adolescents after breakups. Thus, strengthening social relationships and internal coping capacity is essential to support adolescent mental health.

The phenomenon of declining psychological well-being among employees often appears in the form of work stress, burnout, anxiety, and decreased motivation. This study uses a qualitative method in the form of literature review based on various theoretical sources, journal articles, and previous relevant studies. The literature analysis results show that social support has a positive and significant influence on employees’ psychological well-being. Social support act as a protective factor that can reduce the negative impact of job demands. There are three main forms of social support that have strongest influences; supervisor support, co-worker support, and perceived organizational support. Abstract

Adolescents are an age group with high levels of smartphone use, making them susceptible to problematic smartphone use. One psychological factor believed to play a role in this condition is boredom proneness, which is an individual’s tendency to become easily bored. Adolescents with high levels of boredom tend to use smartphones as a means of distraction, which, if uncontrolled, can have a negative impact on daily activities. This study aims to determine the relationship between boredom proneness and problematic smartphone use among adolescents in Indonesia. A quantitative correlational approach was used. The sample consisted of 280 adolescents aged 12–18 years, comprising 214 females and 66 males, selected via purposive sampling. The research instruments used were the Short Boredom Proneness Scale and the Smartphone Addiction Scale–Short Version. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The results of the analysis indicated a significant positive relationship between boredom proneness and problematic smartphone use, with a correlation coefficient of r = .693 and a significance level of p < .05. These findings suggest that the higher the level of boredom proneness among adolescents, the higher the level of problematic smartphone use. Thus, boredom proneness is one of the psychological factors contributing to the emergence of problematic smartphone use among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of school well-being female students based on four main dimensions according to Konu and Rimpela, namely having, loving, being, and health. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 172 female students from five Islamic boarding schools in South Sulawesi who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used was the School Well-Being Scale adapted from the Konu and Ripela models, consisting of 41 valid items with a reliability of α = 0.857. The results showed that the overall level of school well-being of female students was in the medium category (M = 2.75), with 70.35% of respondents in the medium category, 14.53% in the high category, and 15.12% in the low category. The loving (M = 3.27) and being (M = 3.10) dimensions had the highest values, while having (M = 2.29) and health (M = 2.34) showed lower values. This pattern is consistent across all five pesantren, indicating that dimensional inequality is a structural issue. These findings have practical implications for pesantren managers in designing more targeted dimension-based interventions
