Abstract

The existence of human education can develop the potentials that exist in him so that he becomes a human being who has a good personality, intelligence, and morals. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by flashcard media on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in SD Negeri Durian Remuk. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study were fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Durian Remuk in the 2024/2025 academic year. The results showed that the average pretest score (initial test) was 46.96 with a standard deviation of 11.39, while the average posttest score (final test) increased to 84.35 with a standard deviation of 10.28. The normality test shows that the pretest and posttest data are normally distributed because the calculated χ² value is smaller than the χ² table, which is 0.7824 < 9.488 for the pretest and 0.7763 < 9.488 for the posttest. Furthermore, the results of the analysis using the Z test at a significance level of α = 0.05 show that Zcount = 9.04 > Ztable = 1.64, so that H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by flashcard media can significantly improve the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of Durian Remuk State Elementary School and achieve learning completeness with a value category of ≥ 65.

Abstract

Education is very important to improve the quality and integrity of a person. This study aims to examine the completeness of student learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila education after the implementation of the problem-based learning (PBL) learning model assisted by Canva media in grade IV of SD Negeri 59 Lubuklinggau. This study uses a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all grade IV of SD Negeri 59 Lubuklinggau. The research sample consisted of 23 students of grade IV.B selected using a random sampling method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The test was conducted using an instrument in the form of multiple choices with a total of 13 questions. Data analysis techniques used were finding the average, standard deviation and hypothesis testing. The results showed an increase in the average value of students from 59.26 (pretest) to 80.04 (posttest). Hypothesis testing using the t-test produced a t-count of 5.122 greater than the t-table of 1.717, which means the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, the implementation of the PBL model assisted by Canva media has been proven to significantly improve learning outcomes and foster active student participation in learning.

Abstract

The deep learning approach is the latest innovation in the Indonesian education system proposed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in early 2025. The essence of this approach is to create a learning process that is aware, meaningful, and joyful for students. The purpose of the study is to examine the implementation of deep learning from the way teachers plan, organize, implement, and evaluate deep learning in elementary schools. The research method uses a qualitative method with interview data collection techniques and observation of learning in the classroom. The respondent is an elementary school classroom teacher in the Mantrijeron Yogyakarta Ministry of Education who has implemented deep learning. Thematic data analysis with the help of atlas.ti application 9. The results of the research of elementary school teachers implementing deep learning are still very limited, starting from making a learning plan exactly the same as the example from the ministry, there are no new innovations, learning activities that are just following the directions of the curriculum reference book have not shown creativity independently of the teacher and in terms of organizing students, educators emphasize more on grouping students in learning. A tool to measure the success of deep learning can be done by means of project-based assessments, percentages and self-assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept and implementation of the Total Quality Management (TQM) model from the perspective of Islamic education. TQM, as a managerial approach emphasizing the involvement of all organizational elements, process control, continuous improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction, is believed to offer effective solutions to the challenges of improving the quality of educational institutions. However, in the context of Islamic education, TQM cannot be applied mechanically as in industrial or business sectors; instead, it needs to be adapted to align with Islamic spiritual and moral values such as amanah (professional responsibility), ihsan (pursuit of excellence and perfection in work), and akhlaq (ethics and personal integrity). This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, utilizing an extensive literature review of studies and scientific publications from nationally accredited journals (Sinta 1-2) published between 2021 and 2025. The reviewed sources include empirical studies on the application of TQM in Islamic schools, madrasahs, pesantrens, and Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia, as well as contemporary quality management theories relevant to Islamic values. The analysis maps the alignment between TQM principles, such as leadership, continuous improvement, customer focus, and teamwork, and Islamic management principles, including tauhid, syura, trust, and istikamah (steadfastness). The findings reveal that the implementation of TQM in Islamic educational institutions significantly contributes to academic quality enhancement, managerial efficiency, and the strengthening of value-based organizational culture. Institutions that integrate TQM principles with Islamic values show improvements in accreditation status, student satisfaction, teacher and lecturer productivity, and public trust. Moreover, the integration of spiritual values with modern management principles has proven to be a key factor in achieving competitive excellence and global relevance while maintaining Islamic identity. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of the Islamic Total Quality Management (TQM-I) model as a holistic quality management paradigm that not only focuses on achieving performance standards and efficiency but also on reinforcing the moral, spiritual, and social dimensions of education. This model serves as a strategic foundation for developing internal quality assurance systems across Islamic educational institutions, aiming to establish excellence, competitiveness, and a strong Islamic character.

Abstract

Correctional officers hold a vital position within Indonesia’s criminal justice system, responsible for ensuring rehabilitation, supervision, and the protection of inmates’ rights. However, numerous cases of misconduct ranging from drug trafficking, corruption, to human rights violations have raised serious concerns about accountability and the effectiveness of ethical governance. This study aims to analyze the criminal liability of correctional officers involved in crimes, viewed through the framework of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation No. M.HH-16.KP.05.02/2011 concerning the Code of Ethics for Correctional Officers. Using a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, data were collected from legislation, legal literature, and relevant case studies. The findings reveal that the regulation only provides moral and administrative sanctions without direct criminal implications, meaning that criminal responsibility must rely on general and special criminal law provisions. The study concludes that a strong synergy between the ethical code and criminal law is urgently needed to create a more effective, fair, and accountable correctional system. This research contributes to strengthening the legal framework of correctional ethics and promoting institutional integrity within Indonesia’s justice sector.

Abstract

Contemporary educational curricula in many Muslim countries, including Indonesia, are still dominated by a secular paradigm that separates knowledge from spiritual values, thus creating a disorientation in educational objectives. This study aims to examine Islamic epistemology as an alternative foundation in designing an integral curriculum oriented towards the formation of a perfect human being. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study analyzes the works of classical and contemporary Islamic figures as well as relevant modern educational theories. The results show that Islamic epistemology views knowledge as a unity derived from revelation, reason, and experience, thus providing a transformative direction in the formulation of educational objectives, curriculum content, learning methods, and evaluation. The conclusion of this study confirms that the application of Islamic epistemology in curriculum design can address the value crisis in modern education and reorient education towards the formation of knowledgeable and moral human beings. The contribution of this study lies in the presentation of the concept of a monotheistic value-based curriculum that can serve as a philosophical and practical basis for contemporary Islamic educational reform.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the role of educational planning in improving education quality, emphasizing the importance of a focused and sustainable strategy at the educational unit level. This study employed a literature review method, reviewing various sources, including previous research, educational policy documents, and school performance reports. Through descriptive analysis, this study sought to understand the extent to which educational planning effectively supports educational quality improvement. The study's findings indicate that educational planning, in general, is not fully oriented toward comprehensive educational goals. However, improvements in educational quality have begun to be evident through various efforts by school principals to improve the learning process and school management. The main obstacles to educational planning include a lack of administrative staff skilled in strategic planning and limited supporting resources. This study also found that quality improvement measures have been implemented, including recruiting teachers with appropriate competencies, providing training to enhance learning quality, and periodically procuring facilities and infrastructure. In conclusion, educational planning plays a crucial role in promoting educational quality improvement, but it requires strengthening the capacity of planners and more comprehensive policy support for optimal and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in the school environment is a serious problem rooted in low social empathy and students' inability to manage conflicts positively. The role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers (PAI) as central figures who teach noble moral values and compassion is crucial, especially through their example in dealing with dynamics and conflicts that occur in the classroom. This study aims to examine the extent to which the example of PAI teachers in managing classroom conflicts has a significant influence on increasing social empathy and forming anti-bullying attitudes in junior high school (SMP) students. This research is a qualitative approach with a type of case study research. The purpose of this research aims to fill the literature gap by proving that PAI teachers are key actors who use conflict management as a medium to form the character of students who empathize and reject violence. The results of the research of PAI teachers have a very important and strategic role in managing classroom conflicts to increase social empathy and foster anti-bullying attitudes.

Abstract

Education plays a fundamental role in shaping human resources that are of high quality, have strong character, and are adaptive to global challenges. However, the learning process in madrasah ibtidaiyah is still dominated by conventional teacher-centered methods, which affects students' low learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving student learning outcomes at MIN 3 Aceh Tenggara. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type, involving two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 25 students. Research instruments include learning outcome tests, student activity observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using the Independent Sample t-test. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class with a post-test average score of 83.6 compared to the control class at 72.1 (t_calculated = 5.62 > t_table = 2.01; p < 0.05). In addition, student learning activity increased from the category of "moderately active" to "very active" by the end of the sessions. The implementation of the STAD model not only improved cognitive learning outcomes but also developed social skills such as cooperation, responsibility, and communication. These findings confirm that the STAD model is relevant to the principles of the Independent Curriculum and can be considered an effective alternative for creating active, collaborative, and meaningful learning in elementary school madrasahs.
