Abstract

General AUM (General Problem Revealing Tool) is a non-test assessment instrument developed to identify problems experienced by students in various aspects of their lives, including personal, social, learning, family, and others. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of General AUM as an early identification tool in guidance and counseling services. The method used is a descriptive qualitative study with a literature review approach. The results of the study indicate that General AUM is effective as a non-test assessment instrument because it is able to dig up data widely, quickly, and systematically from the students' own perspectives. The use of General AUM also helps BK teachers in designing targeted services according to students' needs. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on the counselor's interpretation skills and the students' openness in filling out the instrument.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling (BK) services have a strategic role in responding to students’ increasingly complex needs, both in academic, personal, social, and career aspects. BK teachers as professionals are required to design and implement appropriate and sustainable service strategies. This article discusses various professional strategies that BK teachers can implement in responding to students’ needs, including through needs assessments, individual and group counseling services, curriculum-based program development, humanistic approaches, and the use of digital technology. The importance of ethics and professionalism in implementing BK services in schools is also emphasized. By implementing the right strategy, BK teachers are able to create an environment that supports optimal student growth. This article also identifies the challenges faced by BK services and solutions that can be implemented to improve the effectiveness of the role of BK teachers in schools.

Abstract

The development of technology and globalization encourages hedonism and consumer behavior in adolescents, who often imitate celebrity lifestyles for recognition, risking eroding their identity. This study examines the effectiveness of group guidance in overcoming adolescent hedonism through qualitative literature studies. The results show that group guidance is effective in increasing self-awareness, the ability to manage finances, distinguish needs from wants, and build habits of saving and investing. Thus, group guidance is a strategic approach to forming wiser and more responsible adolescents.

Abstract

The phenomenon of poverty remains a significant social issue in Indonesia, particularly in densely populated urban areas such as South Jakarta. This article discusses the empowerment of underprivileged families (dhuafa) through an Islamic philanthropic approach based on the theology of Al-Ma’un as taught by KH. Ahmad Dahlan, the founder of Muhammadiyah. A case study was conducted on the family of Mrs. Rohasih, who experiences limitations in economic resources, education, and access to basic facilities. The empowerment program implemented includes the provision of business capital, food assistance, and school supplies. The outcome of this initiative is expected to improve the family's standard of living independently, reduce dependency, and foster students’ social awareness in practicing humanitarian values. This article emphasizes the importance of synergy between educational institutions, the community, and religious values in addressing structural poverty.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers strategies in managing learning for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the moderate category at inclusive schools in surakarta. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with special education teachers. The results revealed that teachers implemented various strategies, including differentiated instruction, the use of visual media, positive reinforcement, and individual assistance to meet the learning needs of student with ASD. However, several challenges were encountered, such as limited specific training for teachers, inadequate supporting facilities, and difficulties in handling the distinctive behaviors of student with ASD. Supporting factors included inclusive school policies, active parental involvement, and collaboration among teachers, schools, families, and professionals play a crucial role in the successful management of learning for student with moderate ASD in inclusive school settings.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the professional competence of teachers as a key factor in improving the quality of education at SMA Negeri 1 Tambang. The research employed interviews with an experienced teacher to gain insight into the strategies for developing professional competence in facing modern educational challenges. The findings indicate that professional competence encompasses not only subject mastery and classroom management but also communication skills, collaboration, and continuous self-development. Challenges such as administrative burdens and limited time hinder the optimal development of these competencies. Therefore, systematic support from schools and government, including ongoing training and adequate facilities, is essential. In conclusion, professional competence is a crucial foundation for creating a conducive learning environment and enhancing the overall quality of education.

Abstract

The phenomenon of shifting media platform usage from conventional media accounts to homeless media (HM) is an undeniable fact. Through qualitative research using a phenomenological and virtual ethnographic approach, as well as utility and satisfaction theory, this study found that HM accounts have been widely operating on various official social media platforms, filling the information gap that conventional media cannot reach, especially at the level of marginalized and local communities. Despite internal challenges still surrounding HM, it holds significant potential as an alternative information provider, especially for local and marginalized communities. HM is a crucial phenomenon in the social transformation of Indonesia's digital society landscape today. With its speed of distribution, content innovation, and social mobilization capabilities, HM opens new avenues for information democratization, public participation, and social change dynamics. Synergy between HM, conventional media, and the public, along with news content accuracy, ethics, and journalistic responsibility, will be key to achieving inclusive and meaningful social transformation in the future

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest of students in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang. One of the causes is that the teaching methods used by teachers are still lacking in variety and do not align with the characteristics of the students. However, teachers play a crucial role in creating an engaging learning environment, motivating students, and delivering material in a contextual manner. The research questions of this study are: (1) How do Economics teachers play a role in enhancing students' interest in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang? (2) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors for Economics teachers in enhancing students' interest in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang? The objectives of this research are: (1) To determine how teachers play a role in enhancing students' interest in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang. (2) To identify the supporting and inhibiting factors for teachers in enhancing students' interest in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang. This study employs a qualitative method. The research was conducted at MAN 2 Jombang with the subjects being Economics teachers and Class X students. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The researcher plays a direct role as the main instrument in data collection. Primary data sources are obtained from direct interactions with teachers and students, while secondary data is obtained from supporting documents. The results of the study indicate that the role of teachers is very important in enhancing students' interest in learning Economics in Class X at MAN 2 Jombang. Teachers act as motivators, facilitators, and guides in the learning process. They use various innovative teaching methods, provide individual attention to students, and build good communication with them. Additionally, teachers strive to understand the characteristics and needs of students, enabling them to provide appropriate learning services.

Abstract

This study aims to prove whether or not there is an influence of the discovery learning model on the understanding of the concept of substance form material and its changes in grade IV elementary school. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a quasi experimental type. The design in this study, namely none-equivalent control group design, this study involves two classes, namely the experimental class, namely class IV A, which is treated with learning using the discovery learning model, while the control class, namely IV B, is taught without using the discovery learning model.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of the Play-Based Learning (PBL) method in Natural Science (IPA) instruction, specifically on the topic of living things, as a strategy to foster creativity among elementary school students. Employing a qualitative approach through a literature review method, data were collected from a range of scholarly sources, including books, peer-reviewed journals, and relevant educational documents. The findings demonstrate that PBL effectively promotes active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experiences. It enhances students’ creativity through engaging activities such as exploration, experimentation, and the imaginative construction of living organisms. Moreover, PBL supports the development of divergent thinking, imagination, and collaboration skills. The approach aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated instruction and student-centered learning. Therefore, PBL is recommended as a strategic pedagogical method for innovating science education in elementary schools to cultivate a creative, independent, and adaptive generation capable of responding to future challenges.
