Abstract

Public street lighting plays an important role in supporting safety and comfort for community activities during nighttime. Kampung Cikandang Setu, Desa Mekarsari, continues to experience limitations in street lighting facilities and inefficient lamp operation systems. This Community Service activity aims to implement an automatic Public Street Lighting (PJU) system based on a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor as an energy-efficient and user-friendly lighting solution. The implementation method includes field observation, system design, and installation of five PJU units using LED lamps integrated with LDR sensors, accompanied by community maintenance education. The results demonstrate that the automatic PJU system operates stably by controlling lamp operation according to ambient light intensity. System implementation improves road lighting quality, supports electrical energy efficiency, and enhances community safety. Community involvement during installation and educational activities strengthens technological understanding and supports sustainable utilization of the PJU system. The implementation of an LDR-based automatic PJU system shows strong potential as an effective and sustainable street lighting solution for rural areas.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology provides convenience in daily life but also increases the risk of digital crimes, one of which is phishing. Phishing is a fraudulent attempt that exploits fake links or messages to steal users’ personal information. Adults and the elderly, including PKK women, are considered vulnerable groups due to their high use of instant messaging applications without sufficient digital security awareness. This community service activity aims to enhance awareness and understanding of the dangers of phishing links among PKK women in Salam Village, particularly those spread through WhatsApp. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through socialization activities and interactive discussions. Data were collected through observation, question-and-answer sessions, and documentation. The results indicate positive responses and improved participants’ understanding of phishing characteristics and preventive measures. Therefore, this digital security socialization activity is considered effective as a preventive effort to improve digital security literacy in rural communities.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a crucial role in preparing competent and entrepreneurial graduates. SMK Letris Indonesia 2 actively encourages students to produce various local products, but product promotion and sales are still conducted conventionally and not yet integrated into an official digital platform. This situation results in limited marketing reach, a lack of product documentation, and limited student experience in digital entrepreneurship. This activity aims to digitize student entrepreneurship through the development of a website selling the school's local products using the Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. This method includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, socialization, and evaluation. The results of the activity indicate that the school's website selling local products has been successfully developed and can be used as a digital-based promotional and marketing tool. The application of the Waterfall SDLC method resulted in a structured system that meets user needs. Furthermore, this activity provides students with hands-on experience in digital entrepreneurship, enhances their understanding of technology-based marketing, and supports the enhancement of the school's digital image and portfolio. Thus, the development of this website is expected to serve as a means of continuous learning and support the development of student entrepreneurship at SMK Letris Indonesia 2.

Abstract

Averrhoa bilimbi L. is a type of plant that grows in yards or home gardens. This species belongs to the order Oxalidales and the family Oxalidaceae. This species belongs to the Oxalidales order and Oxalidaceae family. This plant has many benefits, including its stems, leaves, flowers, and fruit. The women of PKK RT 004 generally use the fresh flowers and fruit. The fresh fruit is used as an addition in making fish pindang as a substitute for tamarind and candis acid. However, the women of PKK have never used preserved fruit as sweets and asam sunti.  Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the use of fruit  by preserving it, such asam sunti.  Asam sunti is commonly used by the people of Aceh. Asam sunti is made from dried fruit, which is salted and dried in the sun repeatedly until the  fruit is dry and brown in color. The results of this community service activity showed good pre-test and post-test scores. The average pre-test score was 92.87 and the average post-test score was 98. There was an increase of 5.33 points. The sustainability of this community service activity is that the PKK mothers of RT 004 can disseminate the information obtained from this activity to other communities.

Abstract

Maintaining personal hygiene is a crucial step for individuals to prevent disease and achieve optimal health. Hygiene efforts should cover various body parts, particularly the hands, which frequently serve as mediators for spreading germs that cause diarrhea and Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI). A survey conducted at the Suci Hati Orphanage revealed that the children’s understanding of Handwashing with Soap (HWWS) remains low. Consequently, this community service initiative was implemented to socialize proper handwashing techniques. The objective is to foster awareness and healthy habits among the children to minimize the risk of disease transmission.

Abstract

Financial literacy is a fundamental skill that needs to be introduced from an early age, especially for junior high school students who begin to have freedom in managing their pocket money. However, many students still lack an understanding of recording income and expenses as well as distinguishing between needs and wants. Based on observations at SMP Utama Yayasan Pendidikan Putra Gumanti (YPPG) Pondok Aren, students were not accustomed to managing pocket money in a planned manner. This community service activity aims to improve students’ financial literacy through the use of the MySaku web application as a simple and practical financial recording tool. The implementation method applied educational, participatory, and applicative approaches through material delivery, application demonstrations, and direct assistance to students. The results show that students were able to understand basic financial management concepts and use the MySaku application independently. Therefore, the MySaku web application can serve as an effective learning medium to improve financial literacy among junior high school students.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second leading cause of death in women. Yet, cervical cancer is preventable because it is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which, if infected, can take decades to develop into cancer. Cervical cancer prevention efforts have not yet reached their target. Coverage remains low. Knowledge about cervical cancer itself is still lacking, as is prevention. The perceived discomfort of early detection tests makes women reluctant to undergo them. Therefore, education about cervical cancer is needed to increase knowledge and thus increase the coverage of early detection tests. The ultimate goal is to reduce the incidence and mortality caused by cervical cancer. To this end, education about cervical cancer is being conducted for women, namely mothers and young girls, especially in the villages of Nagrak and Ciangsana, Bogor.

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKM) were initiated in response to environmental problems in residential areas, including limited greening facilities and suboptimal household waste management, particularly inorganic waste with potential functional and economic value. The lack of public awareness and recycling skills has contributed to declining environmental quality and minimal green open spaces. This program aimed to enhance community awareness and participation in environmental preservation through the utilization of recycled waste as planting media and the application of simple technologies based on vertical gardens and hydroponics. Methods included preliminary surveys, stakeholder interviews, counseling, hands-on training, mentoring, and evaluation using community satisfaction questionnaires. The results indicated an improvement in community knowledge and skills in processing inorganic waste into useful products, such as plant pots made from used plastic bottles. Pilot installations of vertical gardens and hydroponic systems also improved environmental aesthetics and served as sustainable educational media. Evaluation results showed that out of 50 respondents, 82% strongly agreed and 18% agreed with the implementation of the program, with no negative responses recorded. This indicates that the program had a highly positive impact and was well received by the community. Overall, the program contributed to enhancing environmental awareness, social participation, and community self-reliance in creating a clean, green, and productive environment, with strong potential for sustainable replication.

Abstract

Anemia education can be implemented through various methods, such as health promotion. Health promotion can be promoted through the internet. Currently, many teenagers use the internet to obtain information through social media. Online services are readily available. The availability of internet cafes, laptops, and mobile phones makes it easier for the younger generation to access the internet. A 2016 survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) showed that 132.7 million Indonesians, or approximately 51.8% of the population, use internet services. Internet users aged 10-24 years old account for 75.5% of all teenagers aged 10-24 years. The majority of internet users, at 97.4%, use social media. Anemia can have negative impacts on adolescent girls, including stunted growth, increased susceptibility to infection, decreased physical fitness, and decreased concentration in learning. If anemia is not treated during adolescence, it can lead to maternal mortality, premature births, low birth weight (LBW) and stunted offspring in adulthood. The goal of this Community Partnership Program is to educate young women about the proper use of social media to obtain information about anemia, especially among adolescents. The method used is a collaboration with the Darul Ulum Kraksaan Islamic Boarding School to provide education on early detection of anemia in young women. The success indicator of this activity is an increase in young women's behavior in seeking health information, especially regarding anemia prevention. This activity has run smoothly and has achieved positive benefits, starting with increased enthusiasm among young women in practicing the role of social media in anemia prevention.
