Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the national economy; however, most early-stage MSME owners still face significant limitations in managing their business finances. The main challenges include a lack of understanding regarding financial recordkeeping, the absence of separation between personal and business finances, and limited knowledge of financial reporting standards based on SAK EMKM. This community service activity aimed to improve the understanding and skills of early-stage MSME owners in preparing simple financial reports. The training was conducted in a face-to-face format at the Integrated Business Service Center (PLUT) – KUMKM of Belitung Regency on May 21, 2026, using a combination of material presentation, contextual practice problems, and group discussion sessions. The results indicated that approximately 80% of participants demonstrated a solid understanding of the material and showed improved ability to read, prepare, and analyze simple financial statements. Participants also exhibited high enthusiasm and expressed interest in exploring accounting topics further. This activity is expected to encourage MSME owners to develop disciplined financial recordkeeping habits, enabling them to manage their businesses more professionally and sustainably.

Abstract

Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a neurological disorder caused by blockage of blood flow to the brain due to clots, plaque buildup, or other arterial obstructions. This condition is commonly associated with atherosclerosis, which causes thickening and narrowing of blood vessel walls and may lead to thrombosis. Stroke occurrence is influenced by various risk factors, including hypertension as the primary factor, as well as smoking, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, alcohol consumption, increased lipid levels, obesity, stress, and depression. This community service activity aims to increase family knowledge and skills regarding non-hemorrhagic stroke management and Range of Motion (ROM) exercises as an effort to maintain and improve muscle strength, optimize blood circulation, and prevent complications such as limb deformities. The activity was conducted through health education involving explanations about stroke, risk factors, prevention, and demonstrations of proper ROM exercise techniques. The implementation of this activity is expected to improve families’ understanding and ability to provide appropriate support for stroke patients, particularly in performing ROM exercises regularly and correctly. Increased knowledge and practical skills among families can contribute to improving the quality of care, supporting patient recovery, and reducing the risk of further disability caused by non-hemorrhagic stroke.

Abstract

Introducing higher education institutions and promoting new student admissions are strategic efforts to enhance youth participation in pursuing advanced education. The Institut Teknologi Alberth Foenay (ITAF), as a tertiary institution committed to advancing science and technology, has implemented outreach programs aimed at presenting its vision, mission, academic programs namely Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Informatics and its supporting facilities to prospective students. This study aims to describe the implementation of ITAF 2026 student admission outreach activities and assess their effectiveness in enhancing students' awareness and interest in higher education. This community engagement initiative adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, employing data collection methods such as direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of outreach activities conducted in various high schools. The findings indicate that both in-person and digital outreach activities significantly improved prospective students’ understanding of ITAF and influenced their decision-making processes in selecting a university. These results highlight the crucial role of well-planned and consistent communication strategies in the student recruitment process.

Abstract

Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) who are scheduled to undergo spinal anesthesia often have limited understanding of the anesthesia procedure and may experience pain and anxiety before surgery. These conditions can affect patient readiness and the perioperative care process. One educational method that can be utilized is Virtual Reality (VR), an interactive audiovisual medium that provides information in a more engaging and understandable way while also serving as a distraction technique to reduce pain perception. This Community Service Program aimed to implement VR as a preoperative educational tool to improve knowledge and reduce pain among BPH patients undergoing spinal anesthesia. The program was conducted by identifying eligible participants, administering a knowledge pre-test and pain assessment using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), providing spinal anesthesia education through a 3–4 minute VR video, followed by a question-and-answer session, and then conducting a post-test and reassessment of pain levels. The results demonstrated an increase in participants’ knowledge and a reduction in pain following the VR intervention. Before the intervention, most participants had poor knowledge 13 respondents; 65% and moderate pain 11 respondents; 55%. After the intervention, good knowledge increased to 11 respondents 55%, while mild pain increased to 12 respondents 60%. A total of 19 respondents 95% showed improved knowledge, and 17 respondents (85%) experienced pain reduction. The implementation of VR was found to be effective as a preoperative educational medium for BPH patients undergoing spinal anesthesia.
