Inclusive education has become a discussion in the global community. The involvement of the global community in the success of education and learning that is student-friendly, environmentally friendly, and learning-friendly is needed. Therefore, inclusive education has undergone many changes and advances in the education system in Southeast Asia in particular and the world in general. Until now, inclusive education has grown and established itself in providing the widest possible opportunity and space for students with special needs to stand equal to other students so that they can become an active part of society and the country. However, it can’t be denied that the practice of special education still needs various improvements in various aspects. This condition is a challenge for Special Education to continue to develop and adapt to respond to challenges in the future. To answer these challenges requires research, publication, innovation, and creativity as well as an accommodation based on the needs of the community, educators, educational staff, and students. The International Conference on Special Education in the Southeast Asian Region (ICSAR) is one of the answers to the requirements for the growth of special education in Southeast Asia. This conference will bring together academics and experts from around the world to collaborate to create a safe and comfortable environment for people with special needs in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

This research is based on the gap between theory, regulation and implementation of the fulfillment of rights for students with disabilities in higher education based on Law No. 8 of 2016. One of the important issues of rights fulfillment in the Law is the right to education in higher education. Explicitly, the law mentions several obligations of universities, public and private, to play an active role in fulfilling and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities. In this literature study, we aim to study in depth the implementation of each policy and advocacy for the rights of students with disabilities carried out by several universities in Indonesia with the formation of disability service units that have a role in pursuing good practices to realize inclusive universities. Based on the results of the research, the disability service unit is one of the efforts to realize inclusive universities and become a forum for fulfilling the rights of students with disabilities to obtain the right to education, which includes the rights of persons with disabilities, fulfillment of equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, respect, protection and fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities, including the provision of accessibility and proper accommodation.

Abstract

Inclusive schools are places where children with special needs can learn together with other regular children. However, children with special needs are still accompanied by accompanying teachers during teaching and learning activities. The learning system, teaching, curriculum, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the assessment system in inclusive schools will accommodate the needs of children with special needs, so that they can adapt and receive the best possible education. Children with special needs are children who experience delays in development, have medical conditions, mental conditions, and/or certain congenital conditions. They require special attention and handling in order to reach their potential. Children with special needs do not mean they are not smart, talented or incapable. It's just that they have special challenges that most normal children don't face. A School Cluster is an institution/organization as a center for the development of surrounding elementary schools which has the aim of improving the quality of education. The aim of this research is to find out about inclusive schools in accepting children with special needs, especially in cluster 2, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency. The research method used was interviews with school officials, especially school principals, in accepting children with special needs at their school. Interview is a data collection technique through a one-way verbal question and answer process, meaning that questions come from the person interviewing and answers are given by the interviewee.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of the Project for Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) of SLB Negeri P with the theme "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" which is packaged through a safari activity to X Hamlet. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method carried out to see and observe the learning carried out. Data collection techniques use interviews and observation. The data analysis technique in this research uses three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that there are three stages in implementing P5, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. This research shows that there is a good impact on SLB Negeri P students and teachers as well as the residents of X Hamlet.

Abstract

The current inclusive education has not been fully realized. The community also does not fully understand the paradigm of inclusive education and therefore cannot contribute much to it. The role of the community is a very important component for the success of inclusive education, because the community has various resources needed by the school and at the same time the community is also the owner of the school in addition to the government. When community participation can be maximized in supporting inclusive education, the goal of education for welfare will be achieved. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of the community in the sustainability of inclusive education.

Abstract

Children with special needs at an early age are children who experience developmental delays. One of the developmental tasks of early childhood is toilet training. Factors that support the success of toilet training are student readiness, cooperation between teachers and parents. Therefore, a consultation approach between parents and teachers is one way that can bridge to equalize perceptions between parents and teachers so that the toilet training program can run at home and school. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of consulting parents and teachers in shaping toilet training in early childhood with special needs. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection was taken from interviews with parents, class teachers and principals as well as student observations. Data analysis includes steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the consultation approach to teachers and parents was successful in helping children's toilet training programs both at home and at school.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the perspectives and challenges special education teachers face when learning HOTS (Higher-order thinking skills) for students with special needs at the elementary level in Lampung Province. This research uses a survey-type quantitative approach with Google Forms. Twenty-nine special school teachers were respondents by random sampling. The study's results found that all of the teachers knew the concept of HOTS-based learning. As many as 69% of teachers thought that HOTS-based learning could be applied to every type of ABK, and the rest answered no. However, 66% of teachers have implemented HOTS-based learning for students with special needs. This research explores the perceptions, experiences and obstacles of teachers who have implemented HOTS for children with special needs in Lampung. Based on research, Teachers admit they need training, good facilities and infrastructure, peer support, parental support, and reading resources. Recommendations for overcoming this challenge include increasing teacher training, allocating sufficient resources, and supporting and collaborating between the government, schools, and the community. Apart from that, HOTS is indeed a good concept, but this research also shows that HOTS is one of many things that teachers should implement. The implementation of HOTS must be appropriate to the needs and abilities of each child with different special needs.

Abstract

Autistic students experience barriers in communication. These barriers make it difficult for students to understand two-way communication due to their lack of vocabulary. Increasing the number of vocabulary is delivered using spelling puzzle media. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of spelling puzzle media to increase understanding of the vocabulary of autistic children. The method used in this research is pre-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research were 6 Autistic class I students at SLB 1 Gondang Tulungagung. The students' pretest and posttest results were analyzed based on the gain score criteria, showing a score of 0.7 which was in the medium criteria. These criteria show an increase in the number of students' vocabulary after learning using spelling puzzle media.

Abstract

The dual purpose of education for children with disabilities is related to the rehabilitation aspect of restoring and developing physical function, and related to education which refers to the objectives of national education which aims to develop the potential of students to become human beings who are faithful and devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, and become democratic and responsible citizens. Frances P. Connor (1995) suggests that there are at least 7 aspects that need to be developed in each disabled child through education, namely: (1) intellectual and academic development, (2) physical development, (3) emotional development and self-acceptance, (4) social maturity, (5) moral and spiritual maturity, (6) self-expression, and (7) future preparation. Children with significant physical or motor limitations require a specialized approach in developing their independence. One effective approach is through the development of vocational skills. This article discusses the importance of vocational skills programs in enhancing the independence of children with motor impairments in the context of education and/or rehabilitation. Practical steps include identification of relevant vocational skills, development of an inclusive vocational skills program, appropriate training and mentoring, and integration with the education curriculum. The results show that vocational skills development helps children with disabilities become independent in daily life and preparation for the world of work, improves quality of life, and provides wider career opportunities. Implications and recommendations include inclusive curriculum development, teacher training, industry and community partnerships, and the use of technology in skills development. With a holistic and inclusive approach, vocational skills development for children with disabilities supports social inclusion and equitable community development.

Abstract

Education issues Collaboration in Indonesia includes lack, lack of connections between teachers, professionals, schools, parents and social stigma towards students with special needs. So from improved teacher training, increased understanding of parents, schools, and campaigns to change the perception of society. The importance of educational policies that support collaborative inclusion. Through the cooperation of governments, educational institutions, experts/professionals, teachers, parents, and the community, collaborative education can be realized. The vision of inclusion is to provide quality education to all students, without discrimination. This collaboration enables every student, including those with special needs, to reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Abstract

This study aim For know and describe about data and existence child having difficulty learning, esp dyslexia in elementary school, via identification and assessment. Implementation identification and assessment as well as evaluation identification and assessment for child having difficulty Study This done in several Elementary School in District Langke Rembong, Regency Manggarai. Study This use method study descriptive with approach qualitative research conducted in several elementary schools in the district Langke Rembong, Regency Manggarai. Subject study that is student 5th grade in each school target. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, identification and assessment. The validity of the data is tested use triangulation technique. Result of study This show that inside​ every school researched targets​ there is student having difficulty Study. Party school Not yet Once do assessment to students who experience difficulty Study. Student having difficulty Study still is at together other students study together inside​ class, not yet Once identified and assessed by the parties school nor from outside school. It is hoped that every school give handling special For children who experience disturbance Study.
