Abstract

This study aimed to explore the perspectives of adolescents in Medan City towards the role of family communication in maintaining their mental health. Amid the pressures of urbanization, academic expectations, and digital disruption, family communication is a crucial aspect that is often overlooked. Using a qualitative approach with phenomenology methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews of eight adolescent informants, complemented by observation and documentation. Study results show that communication in families is often one-way, minimal in empathy, and does not open a safe space for teens to express themselves. This encourages them to seek emotional escapes outside of their homes, including social media and peer environments. Drawing on Carl Rogers’ communication theory, it was found that healthy communication should be built on a foundation of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional acceptance. This study recommends the importance of reconstructing more dialogical and supportive patterns of family communication so that the family again functions as a place of emotional recovery and mental strengthening for adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze employee performance in the Division of Public Welfare and Economy in the implementation of the Poor Family Program in Menanggal Subdistrict, Surabaya City. A qualitative approach was used with four main performance indicators: the need for achievement, the need for power, compensation, and leadership policies. The results show that employees demonstrate strong motivation in carrying out their duties, particularly in ensuring that social assistance reaches those truly in need. However, challenges persist, including limited resources and weak coordination between village officials and neighborhood leaders (RT/RW), leading to inaccuracies in beneficiary targeting. The need for power is reflected in the employees’ involvement in decision-making and providing guidance to citizens, although these efforts are not always supported by accurate data. Compensation, especially for non-permanent staff, is still considered insufficient, affecting work morale and productivity. Leadership policies arrelatively supportive of efficient workflows, yet improvements are needed in updating beneficiary data and monitoring program implementation. Other challenges include community dependence on social assistance and low public awareness of eligibility procedures and criteria. The study suggests the need for enhanced staff training, stronger cross-sector coordination, and the integration of empowerment programs to ensure that assistance not only serves immediate needs but also encourages long-term economic self-reliance among beneficiaries.

Abstract

Pengembangan desa wisata berbasis komunitas menjadi salah satu strategi penting dalam memperkuat sektor pariwisata berkelanjutan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan Desa Wisata Simathani Marurup di Bumi Perkemahan Jurang Senggani, Desa Nglurup, Kecamatan Sendang, Kabupaten Tulungagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Fokus penelitian mengacu pada empat indikator utama pengembangan destinasi wisata, yaitu atraksi (attraction), aksesibilitas (accessibility), fasilitas pendukung (amenity), dan layanan pendukung (ancillary services). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Bumi Perkemahan Jurang Senggani memiliki potensi wisata alam yang kuat dengan daya tarik utama berupa camping ground hutan pinus, jalur pendakian Gunung Wilis, dan Air Terjun Jurang Senggani. Aksesibilitas menuju lokasi masih menjadi tantangan akibat keterbatasan infrastruktur jalan, namun telah dilakukan berbagai upaya perbaikan oleh pemerintah desa, pihak eksternal dan pokdarwis. Fasilitas pendukung seperti area perkemahan, toilet, dan warung makan telah tersedia, meskipun pengembangan amenity ramah keluarga masih diperlukan. Pada aspek layanan pendukung, pokdarwis telah berperan aktif dalam pengelolaan wisata, namun perlu peningkatan kapasitas dan standardisasi layanan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengembangan wisata Bumi Perkemahan Jurang Senggani menunjukkan arah yang positif, meskipun masih memerlukan penguatan pada aspek aksesibilitas, fasilitas, promosi, serta sinergi antar pihak untuk mewujudkan destinasi wisata berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Career planning is mature is important in the aspect of individual development, especially students who are learning the secondary school. One psychological factor that influences career planning is the locus of control. Students with high Locus of Control have the belief that success or failure in achieving something is determined by their own abilities and efforts, not based on luck or gifts of others. This belief in self encourages students to be more active, independent and responsible in planning their career steps. This article discusses the effect of Locus of Control on student career planning, as well as the urgency of the development of locus of control in order to support career planning.

Abstract

Interpersonal conflicts are a common phenomenon in social interactions, arising due to differences in perspectives, values, personal interests, or social needs. In increasingly dynamic societies, these conflicts can disrupt harmony, reduce solidarity, and even threaten social stability. If not properly managed, conflicts can escalate into more serious issues, including physical altercations and social disintegration. This research explores the role of counseling services in resolving interpersonal conflicts. By utilizing individual counseling, individuals can better understand themselves and others, develop empathy, and establish healthier communication patterns. The study reveals that structured counseling approaches can significantly reduce conflict impacts, improve interpersonal relationships, and foster a more harmonious community. Data collected from various case studies highlights the positive influence of counseling in conflict resolution, demonstrating its potential for creating more inclusive and peaceful social environments.

Abstract

Indonesia, a country with abundant natural resources and a dynamic population, possesses great economic potential yet faces welfare leveling challenges, particularly access to financial services. Rural and vulnerable communities still have difficulty accessing formal financial institutions, impacting significantly on poverty, education, and economic opportunity. Advances in digital technologies, particularly Financial Technology (Fintech), offer innovative solutions to address these issues. This qualitative research, using the literature study method, analyzes the role of Fintech in addressing the financial access gap in Indonesia. The literature review includes scientific journals, official reports, and related regulatory documents. Fintech is proven to provide faster, more efficient, and more accessible access to financial services. However, the study also identified challenges faced, such as data security risks, incomprehensive regulation, low digital literacy, uneven technology infrastructure, potential for fraud, shortage of skilled human resources, and suboptimal integration with conventional financial systems. Therefore, the collaboration of government, industry, and society is required to maximize the potential of Fintech and minimize its risks, in order to achieve the leveling of economic well-being in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the strategic role of public sector financing by the government in improving the quality of public services in Indonesia. With a qualitative approach, this study targets an in-depth understanding through semi-structured interviews, literature studies, and relevant policy analysis. The main focus of this study is how public budget planning, allocation, and management can affect the effectiveness of public services, both in terms of administrative efficiency and public satisfaction as service recipients. The results of the study indicate that the influence of public sector financing on improving services is largely determined by the extent to which the principles of transparency, accountability, and public participation are applied in the budgeting cycle and its implementation. In addition, cross-sector coordination, government apparatus capabilities, and the existence of a strong monitoring system are also important determinants in ensuring the use of the budget on target. These findings provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of fiscal policies that support inclusive, responsive, and sustainable public services. This study recommends the need for public financing governance reform that is more adaptive to community needs and increased institutional capacity in managing public funds.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the factors that influenced the participation rate of women in the labour force in Riau Province from 2012 to 2022. The design of the study uses quantitative methods with double linear regression analysis. Objects of research include Women’s Workforce Participation Rate (TPAKP), Average Age of Women in School (RLSP), Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), and Women’ s Productive Age (UPP). The sample of the research consists of secondary data obtained from various official sources with a total of 40 data. The research contributes originality in the regional economic context, with regard to the participation of women in the labour force in Riau Province.

Abstract

The study aims to analyse the types of speech acts used by English Teacher in informal context at SMK Kesehatan Hamzar Maraqitta’limat Pringgabaya. Speech acts are an important aspect in the interaction between teachers and students, especially in creating a comfortable and effective learning environment. A qualitative descriptive approach was used im this study, with observation and recording methods as the main instruments of data collection. The data were analysed based on the theory of speech acts which include locution, illocution, and perlocution, used by English Teacher. The results showed that teacher were more likely to used illocutionary speech acts such as directive acts to instruct, invite, warn, and suggest. The use of  informal speech acts is effective in increasing friendly interaction between Teacher and students. This study aims to determine the types of speech acts used by English Teacher in informal context at SMK Kesehatan Hamzar Maraqitta’limat Pringgabaya.

Abstract

The role of educators is crucial in designing learning, choosing the right theories, strategies, and methods to make teaching more effective. Every teacher also has a different approach in choosing the theories they use. Behaviourism learning theory can be used to help the learning process so it needs to be further studied by delving into behaviourism learning theory according to the experts, the models of behaviorism learning theory and the perspective of Islamic education towards behaviorism learning theory. This study is a literature study using sources from written references. The result of this research is learning behaviorism according to the experts is a view that emphasizes that learning is a change in behavior that can be directly observed. The learning theory models of behaviorism emphasize that learning occurs through associations between stimuli and directly observable responses. Behaviorism Learning Theory in Islamic Educational Perspective is that it emphasizes on the formation of behavior through stimulus and response. In Islamic education, this approach can be integrated with Islamic teachings that prioritize the formation of morals and positive behavior through habituation (ta’dib), example, and repetition.
