Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of style simulation and sign consumption in the “Dress Well” trend on the TikTok platform, which is influenced by Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in Jean Baudrillard's semiotic perspective. TikTok, as a digital visual medium, not only functions as an entertainment space but also as an arena for the production and reproduction of social signs that shape identity, prestige, and lifestyle standards. The “Dress Well” trend is represented through neat, aesthetic, and ideal fashion visuals, which are then constructed as symbols of social status. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing semiotic analysis methods to interpret the meaning of signs in TikTok video content, including visual elements, narratives, hashtags, and digital interactions such as likes and comments. The results show that FoMO acts as the primary driver compelling users to follow trends not based on functional needs, but rather for social recognition and digital identity legitimacy. Fashion consumption in the “Dress Well” trend is no longer oriented towards utility value, but towards sign value that creates simulation and hyperreality. TikTok content shapes a pseudo-reality that appears more real than everyday life, thereby normalizing symbolic consumption patterns. Thus, the “Dress Well” trend represents a practice of digital consumerism that reflects the logic of simulation and hyperreality in contemporary visual culture.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically examine the form, role, challenges, and effectiveness of collaboration between subject teachers and guidance and counseling teachers in developing student character. Character education is an important part of the educational process because it relates not only to academic aspects, but also to the social, emotional, and moral aspects of students, thus requiring the integrated involvement of various parties in the school. This study uses a literature review method by examining relevant national journal articles obtained through online databases such as Google Scholar, GARUDA, and SINTA. The selected articles were analyzed based on their relevance to the focus of the study, particulary regarding collaboration patterns and their impact on student character development. The result of the study show that collaboration between subject teachers and guidance counselors plays an important role in strengthening student character, especially in terms of discipline, responsibility, religiosity, and social behavior. However, this collaboration still faces obstacles in the form of time constraints, differences in teachers perspectives, and the lack of a structured collaboration system. Therefore, institutional support is needed so that collaboration can run optimally and sustainably

Abstract

The global energy crisis, characterized by high dependence on fossil fuels, has created not only a challenge of availability but also a threat to sustainability. Islam views this issue within the framework of humans as khalīfah fi al-ard, who are entrusted with the responsibility to manage and preserve the earth. This study aims to reconstruct Islamic law, particularly fiqh al-bi’ah, as a normative and ethical foundation for renewable energy development in the face of climate change and resource depletion. Using a normative qualitative method with approaches of ushul fiqh, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and contemporary analysis, the research draws from primary sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, fatwa, and international energy reports, as well as supporting literature. The findings reveal that the continued use of fossil energy aligns with the concepts of isrāf (wastefulness) and ifsād fi al-ard (corruption on earth), thus contradicting the ethical principles of Islam. Meanwhile, renewable energy represents a manifestation of maslahah (public benefit), ‘adl (justice across generations), and amanah (trust), which are fundamental Islamic values. The study concludes that reconstructing Islamic law through maqāṣid and legal maxims such as lā ḍarara wa lā ḍirār provides a solid theological and ethical basis to support the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. This reconstruction can be applied at individual, institutional, and policy levels, ensuring that the transition is not only technically feasible but also aligned with Islamic principles of sustainability.

Abstract

This article examines the role of Islamic philosophy as an intellectual mediator in the transformation of Greek rationality into the Western philosophical tradition. In dominant philosophical historiography, Islamic philosophy is often reduced to a passive transmitter that merely translated Greek thought into Latin. This article challenges such a reductionist view by arguing that Islamic philosophy functioned as an active epistemological agent that not only inherited but also reconstructed and transformed Greek rationality through the conceptual framework of ḥikmah. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with historical-philosophical analysis, this study explores the concept of logos in Greek philosophy, the Islamization of rationality by Muslim philosophers such as Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Sina, and its subsequent influence on Western philosophy through Scholasticism and the Renaissance. The findings demonstrate that Islamic philosophy served as a crucial epistemic bridge that integrated reason and revelation, thereby contributing significantly to the formation of modern Western rationality. This article thus offers a more dialogical and cross-civilizational perspective on the history of philosophy.

Abstract

Rapid urbanization in Indonesia has created various psychosocial challenges, including stress, family conflict, social alienation, and socioeconomic disparities. These conditions require counseling services that extend beyond individual interventions toward community-based approaches that address the broader social impacts of urban life. This study aims to analyze the concepts, principles, and implementation strategies of urban community counseling as an approach to strengthening psychosocial well-being in urban populations. Using a literature review method, this study synthesizes scholarly books, journal articles, and empirical research related to community counseling and contemporary urban issues. The findings indicate that urban community counseling is effective in enhancing community resilience through participatory, empowerment-based, multicultural-sensitive, and cross-sector collaborative approaches. Programs such as family counseling, youth mentoring, support for vulnerable groups, and the integration of digital counseling services have been shown to improve social connectedness and mental health outcomes. This study affirms that urban community counseling plays a strategic role in promoting mental health development and reinforcing social cohesion in the context of modern urbanization.

Abstract

This study explores the perspective of Islamic psychology in responding to criminal behaviors such as theft, robbery, and corruption through three main strategies: prevention, curative intervention, and reconstruction. Using a library research design with a descriptive-analytical approach, the paper examines scholarly works related to Islamic psychology, Islamic law, moral education, and criminal conduct. The analysis indicates that preventive efforts are most effective when they are rooted in strengthening faith, moral and character development, family-based socialization, and the establishment of fair socio-economic structures. Curative interventions focus on spiritual and psychological recovery through practices such as muhasabah (self-introspection), taubat nasuha (sincere repentance), and Islamic counseling, alongside social reintegration initiatives including skills training and economic empowerment. Reconstruction emphasizes a restorative justice approach that actively involves victims, offenders, and the wider community in processes of reconciliation, healing, and the restoration of social trust. Overall, Islamic psychology offers a comprehensive framework that integrates spiritual, moral, and psychological dimensions to prevent, address, and rehabilitate criminal behavior, while providing both theoretical insights and practical strategies for cultivating just, ethical, and socially cohesive societies.

Abstract

This study analyzes adolescents' mental representations of semantic ambiguity in narrative texts and their implications on reading comprehension through a descriptive qualitative approach. Literature studies are the main data collection technique from books and scientific journals related to semantic ambiguity, mental representation, narrative texts, and adolescent reading comprehension. Data analysis involves information reduction, narrative presentation, and drawing conclusions to illustrate the relationship between linguistic phenomena and readers' cognitive processes. Lexical ambiguities in the form of polysemimes and homonyms, syntactic ambiguities of double sentence structures, and ambiguities of slang or cultural meanings result in unstable mental representations that require language decoding, inference, meaning revision, and continuous monitoring of understanding. This cognitive process increases the workload of working memory so that adolescents' reading comprehension varies, decreases the accuracy of interpretation of storylines, characters, and main messages, although it also trains critical thinking if successfully completed effectively.

Abstract

This study examines how creativity, key skills, and Islamic values play a role in driving innovation in products and services for Islamic businesses. This study uses qualitative methods and relies on library-based research to explore studies related to creativity, productivity, service quality, and Islamic entrepreneurship. Information was gathered through document review and analyzed using thematic content analysis. Results indicate that creativity and core skills can replace large sums of money by helping people create value through digital tools, capabilities, and networks. Islamic values such as honesty, reliability, ihsan, and itqan significantly increase productivity and maintain smooth business operations by supporting strong professional standards and customer trust. The study also found that superior service, including showing concern, responding quickly, communicating politely, and being consistent, is important for building customer loyalty and strengthening an Islamic principle-based business identity. In general, combining creativity, Islamic ethics, and good service creates new and sustainable ways of managing businesses that focus on both making money and supporting social and spiritual values.

Abstract

The tourism potential of the Mount Bromo Area is not yet optimally supported by the quality of public services, where the Tourism and Culture Office of Probolinggo Regency, as the leading sector, faces significant challenges in the human resource capacity of its apparatus. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Public Sector Human Resource Management to improve service quality at the destination using a qualitative case study approach through in-depth interviews with 10 key informants, field observations, and document studies, with data analyzed interactively and validated through source triangulation. The findings reveal that HRM practices remain fragmented and administrative, lacking strategic integration, while the analysis of the five dimensions of service quality (Tangibility, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy) shows uneven performance, with Reliability and Responsiveness being the main weak points. Furthermore, the planning, competency development, and performance appraisal systems are not yet aligned with the contextual needs of managing a super-priority destination. Therefore, service improvement requires a holistic approach through specific recommendations, including the development of a Strategic Competency Map, the transformation of capacity-building programs toward continuous learning, and a revolution in the performance appraisal system by integrating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on service outcomes and tourist satisfaction.
