Abstract

Understanding the role of village government in the management and use of village funds, various laws and regulations that regulate it. Where in the management and use of village funds there are many obstacles faced by the village government itself, From the various understandings/definitions, it shows the disharmony of existing laws, so that in practice in the field there will be many obstacles that occur due to these differences. For this reason, the Law on Village Fund Management is a policy related to the role of the village government in managing village funds. This research focuses on two problem formulations, namely what is the role of the Village Government in managing village funds based on Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 20 of 2018, and What are the obstacles in managing village funds based on Minister of Home Affairs Regulation Number 20 of 2018 concerning Village Fund Management in Jombang Village. This research is empirical research, which is qualitative. Data collection techniques use observation and interview techniques. The data obtained in this research was analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. From this study, it was found that the Jombang Village Government has indeed followed the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 20 of 2018, but in the management and use of village funds in Jombang Village for the implementation of the use of village funds, it is still not on target. In terms of its role, the Jombang Village Government is still lacking in terms of equipment that is not in accordance with its education, in its management and use, the Jombang Village Government is still less transparent to the community regarding reports on activity realization and reports on accountability realization.

Abstract

Philosophy of science plays a crucial role in establishing the theoretical and practical foundations of guidance and counseling. However, studies that comprehensively integrate philosophy of science into the development of guidance and counseling remain limited. This study aims to analyze the contribution of philosophy of science to the development of guidance and counseling through a literature review. The method employed was a literature review by examining scientific articles and books relevant to the topics of philosophy of science and guidance and counseling. The analysis was conducted qualitatively by exploring the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. The findings indicate that the ontological dimension contributes to viewing counselees as holistic human beings, the epistemological dimension strengthens scientific legitimacy and counseling approaches, and the axiological dimension serves as the foundation for values and professional ethics of counselors. The integration of these three dimensions is essential in developing guidance and counseling practices that are reflective, adaptive, and relevant to contemporary challenges.

Abstract

This qualitative-descriptive study examines, from an Islamic education perspective, the moral decline of Muslim youth caused by uncontrolled social media use. The findings indicate a diminished sense of shame, impulsiveness, and a decline in spirituality are the main consequences. Weak religious understanding, lack of family support, and pressures from the digital world are underlying causes. Islamic education is integrated as a preventive and curative tool by instilling moral values, highlighting positive role models, and promoting Islamic digital literacy. This study underscores the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration to strengthen the moral resilience of youth in the digital age.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the education system, including Islamic education. Modernization of Islamic education has become a necessity to adapt the learning process to current developments, but this can also pose challenges in maintaining Islamic values. This article aims to examine the concept of modernizing Islamic education, the challenges in modernizing Islamic education, and efforts to maintain Islamic values. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative approach with a literature review, through a review of various journal articles relevant to the topic. The results of the study indicate that modernization of Islamic education can be aligned with Islamic values if digital technology is used wisely and integrated into the formation of good morals and ethics in students. Therefore, the active role of teachers and educational institutions is needed to optimize digital technology as a learning tool without neglecting Islamic values.

Abstract

This article examines the emergence of Sunni and Shi‘a Islam within the context of early Islamic history by exploring their theological foundations and political dynamics. The division between the two traditions originated from debates over leadership succession following the death of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly concerning the legitimacy of authority and the nature of political and religious leadership. Sunni Islam conceptualized leadership as a matter of communal consensus grounded in pragmatic governance, whereas Shi‘a Islam developed the doctrine of imamate by viewing leadership as a divinely ordained institution vested in the family of the Prophet. Through a historical and analytical approach supported by qualitative literature review, this study traces how initial political disputes gradually evolved into distinct theological systems that shaped divergent doctrines, patterns of religious authority, and collective identities. The findings demonstrate that the Sunni and Shi‘a divide cannot be understood solely as a theological disagreement, but must be situated within broader historical processes involving power, legitimacy, and sociopolitical transformation. Understanding these historical roots is essential for fostering a more nuanced and constructive engagement with sectarian differences in contemporary Islamic discourse.

Abstract

This study analyzes the cultural stereotypes presented in Disney’s Aladdin (1992), focusing on how the film represents Middle Eastern culture through characters, plot, setting, and themes. Using the theoretical framework of Stuart Hall’s representation theory, Richard Dyer’s concept of stereotypes, and Edward Said’s Orientalism, this research applies a qualitative descriptive method through film text analysis. The findings reveal that Aladdin contains strong elements of Orientalism, depicting Arab culture as exotic, irrational, and inferior compared to Western civilization. Characters such as Jafar, the Sultan, and even Aladdin himself are shaped through stereotypical lenses that reinforce Western cultural dominance. The film’s narrative and visual elements, from costume design, language, and setting to the theme of freedom versus control, perpetuate Western superiority while diminishing the cultural complexity of the Middle East. This study concludes that Aladdin not only entertains but also functions as a vehicle of cultural misrepresentation, shaping global perceptions of Arab identity.

Abstract

The increasing incidence of student violence against teachers in recent years indicates a serious problem in educational relationships in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze student violence toward teachers from a epistemology perspective. This research employed a literature review method by systematically examining national and international scholarly journals, academic books, and official institutional reports relevant to the research topic. Data were analyzed using thematic and critical analysis to identify conceptual patterns, epistemic mechanisms, and research gaps in studies on school violence. The findings reveal that student violence toward teachers is not solely influenced by psychosocial and disciplinary factors, but also by the weakening of students’ epistemic trust in teachers, the relativization of epistemic authority due to digital media exposure, and the emergence of epistemic misalignment and epistemic injustice within pedagogical relationships. The shift in the knowledge ecology in the digital era has made students more selective and conditional in accepting teacher authority, causing disciplinary actions to be perceived as illegitimate. These findings highlight the importance of an epistemological approach in understanding and preventing school violence through strengthening epistemic trust, digital literacy, and dialogical disciplinary models.

Abstract

The provision of business licensing services constitutes a crucial pillar in strengthening the investment ecosystem and accelerating economic growth at the regional level. In East Java, e-government innovation is implemented through the East Java Online Single Submission (JOSS) system under the authority of the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP). However, its operation still faces obstacles such as lengthy processing times, complex bureaucracy, and weak synergy among technical agencies. This study aims to evaluate the quality of licensing services on the JOSS platform at DPMPTSP East Java. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document review. The evaluation framework refers to the theory of Pham et al. (2023), which examines five main aspects: ease of interaction, service fulfillment, user care, data security, and trust. The research findings indicate that, in general, the JOSS platform has facilitated access to licensing services fairly effectively. Although aspects of security and ease of use are adequate, the variables of timeliness (fulfillment) and complaint handling (citizen care) still require improvement. Synchronization among agencies and enhancement of human resource quality are key to optimizing services in the future.

Abstract

Bullying behavior in the school environment is a social problem that has a serious impact on the psychological and social development of students. This study aims to describe the forms of bullying among students at MTs Al-Washliyah in Tanjung Beringin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, analyze the causal factors, and review them from an Islamic perspective and strategies for handling them. The study used a qualitative approach with field research. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results showed the presence of verbal, physical, and relational bullying, with verbal bullying being the most dominant form. Causal factors include students' internal conditions, family parenting patterns, the influence of the social environment and social media, and weak moral development. From an Islamic perspective, bullying is seen as a reprehensible act because it contradicts noble moral values. Efforts to address this are carried out through prevention, direct intervention, and moral development based on Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on how children are educated and supported. Digital parenting strategies are crucial in creating a safe and nurturing environment for the younger generation, while considering gender equality. This study employed qualitative methods with a library approach. It highlights the role of parents in setting boundaries and providing appropriate guidance to children regarding technology use. With a gender-sensitive approach, parents are expected to reduce the gap in technology access and utilization between boys and girls, encourage creativity, and protect children from gender-based risks in the digital world. The implementation of digital parenting strategies aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly regarding gender equality and women's empowerment.
