Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to examine attitude assessment in the learning context, with a focus on Islamic Religious Education. Attitude is defined as a person's feelings, views, or tendencies in responding to objects or situations, which include three main components: affective, cognitive, and conative. These components shape attitudes towards subject matter, teachers, and the learning process as a whole. Attitude assessments are carried out to understand students' behavioral tendencies in learning, including positive attitudes towards material, teachers and a supportive learning environment. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, as well as analysis of related documents. The research results show that students' attitudes can be influenced by affective (emotion), cognitive (understanding) and conative (behavior) aspects. This research also developed an instrument to measure attitudes, which was designed to reflect objective and systematic assessment standards. These findings provide practical insight for educators in evaluating and forming students' attitudes in a comprehensive and accountable manner, supporting successful learning and the development of students' character.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of using ChatGPT on environmental literacy among fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Bengkulu City, Indonesia. This research employs a mixed-methods approach and analyzes four works by Roald Dahl—Giraffe and the Pelly and Me (2007), James and the Giant Peach (2007), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2007), and Danny the Champion of the World (2009). The environmental themes in these works are analyzed through the critical framework of Matthew Arnold, which highlights the moral relationship between humans and nature. The study involves two groups: an experimental group using ChatGPT to explore environmental themes, and a control group utilizing traditional teaching methods. Environmental literacy is measured through pre-test and post-test assessments, supported by student questionnaires and teacher interviews. Quantitative findings show a significant improvement in the experimental group (p < 0.05), indicating that the use of ChatGPT enhances students’ understanding of ecological issues. Qualitative data reveals higher student engagement and a positive perception of ChatGPT as a learning tool. From an Arnoldian perspective, these narratives prove effective in cultivating environmental appreciation by emphasizing the moral connection between humans and nature. Overall, this study demonstrates how AI-based tools, combined with children’s literature, can enrich the learning experience and promote sustainable thinking among elementary school students.

Abstract

This article seeks to explore the role of Indonesian language teachers in implementing the Pancasila student profile. In this context, Indonesian language teachers are responsible for guiding the learning process, ensuring that moral values are conveyed and can be applied by students in both school and community settings. The younger generation today is facing a decline in morals and local wisdom, driven by the rapid advancement of globalization. This trend could lead to a loss of national character or identity among the youth, which requires special attention to address these issues and foster an understanding of good character within the educational framework. The classroom learning process must be of high quality to effectively support positive representations of Pancasila values, such as devotion to God, independence, critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, and global diversity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach and literature review, referring to sources related to the role of Indonesian language teachers in incorporating the Pancasila learner profile into Indonesian language education. The materials presented by Indonesian language teachers can integrate the Pancasila learner profile into various competencies, focusing on noble character, independence, critical thinking, cooperation, creativity, and diversity.
