Abstract

Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 38 orang, mayoritas ibu rumah tangga.

Abstract

Village governments face dual challenges in the digital era: the demand for efficient public services and environmental security issues. In Kedungwaringin Village, these problems manifested as manual information services and the presence of unmonitored illegal dumping sites. This community service activity aimed to implement practical Smart Village solutions to improve village governance and environmental security through the application of appropriate technology. The method employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving education, live demonstrations, and hands-on training for the implementation of two key technologies: a solar-powered Internet of Things (IoT)-based environmental monitoring system, and a WhatsApp-based AI Assistant for information services. The results demonstrated a statistically significant increase in participant understanding (p < 0.05), with the 'Good' comprehension category rising from 8% to 32%. Furthermore, the activity successfully produced two functional, ready-to-use outputs that received a highly positive response from participants for being practical and relevant. Thus, the application of integrated IoT and AI technologies accessed via familiar platforms proved effective in accelerating digital transformation at the village level and can serve as a replicable pilot model

Abstract

Radicalism has become a serious threat to child protection in the digital era. Children are vulnerable groups easily influenced through social media, social environments, and inappropriate parenting patterns. This community service program aimed to increase public understanding regarding legal protection for children from the dangers of radicalism through legal education, digital parenting counseling, and assistance in drafting community-based child protection regulations. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The program was conducted in RW 14 Pasanggrahan Village, Ujung Berung District, Bandung City, targeting RT/RW administrators, PKK members, and parents. The results showed an increase in public understanding regarding the dangers of radicalism and the importance of child protection, with achievement levels ranging from 80% to 85%. In addition, an RW regulation regarding curfew implementation for children and adolescents was successfully established as a form of community-based social protection. This program demonstrates that legal education and community participation strengthening are effective approaches in preventing the spread of radicalism among children.

Abstract

Stunting and the low quality of child parenting remain major challenges in family development in rural areas, particularly due to limited access to information, low health literacy, and the persistence of traditional parenting practices. This condition was also identified in Sukaraja Village, Kuningan Regency, where many families still had limited understanding regarding stunting prevention and responsive child parenting. This community service program aimed to develop a community-based model for strengthening women’s and family capacities through a participatory approach to support stunting prevention and child parenting improvement. The program was implemented in RW 01 of Sukaraja Village in August 2025 using the Participatory Technology Development (PTD) approach. The implementation methods included coordination with village authorities and posyandu cadres, participatory assessment through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), community-based intervention planning, educational and training activities, and monitoring through cadre assistance. The results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of the First 1,000 Days of Life, responsive parenting practices, nutritional fulfillment, sanitation, and stunting prevention. Participants also began applying positive communication patterns in child parenting and utilizing local food resources as affordable nutritional alternatives for families. This program demonstrates that a community-based participatory approach can strengthen the capacities of women and families in creating a healthy, responsive, and sustainable parenting environment as part of local efforts to accelerate stunting reduction.
