Abstract

Sufism (tasawuf) approaches in education make a significant contribution to addressing ethical competence in the classroom, particularly for future English teachers. This article examines how Sufism principles can strengthen morality and ethics in the learning process. Sufism, with its emphasis on cleansing the heart and spiritual upliftment, offers a holistic method to educate students not only intellectually but also morally and emotionally. Through the Sufism approach, teachers can create a learning environment imbued with spiritual values such as honesty, patience, compassion, and respect. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study analysis to explore how Sufi concepts can be applied to teaching strategies. The findings show that integrating Sufism into education can foster higher moral awareness among students and help teachers create a harmonious and productive classroom atmosphere. By applying this approach, future English teachers can become role models in teaching moral values

Abstract

This paper discusses the Indonesian government's education policy in the New Order era and its influence on Islamic education in Indonesia. This paper aims to find out how education policy in Indonesia in the New Order era was and its influence on Islamic education in Indonesia. The New Order provided a new style for Islamic religious education policy, because the influence of communism shifted towards strengthening Pancasila through a sustainable national development plan. Education is the main pillar of the founding of a nation. Education is an effort to design the future of humans as a generation that will advance a nation. The concept of education applied in Indonesia has never been separated from political elements and government policies. Education during the New Order era was a short-term education system or, in other words, centralization, making the quality of Indonesian education increasingly worse. Thus, education during the New Order era was not aimed at improving people's standard of living, let alone improving Indonesia's human resources, but prioritized political orientation so that all people always obeyed every government policy. Education is a link in the process of guiding and cultivating good human abilities. Apart from that, education is an introduction to humanity to a greater or higher civilization based on the balance of human life, the environment and the Creator. Education is a field which is related to human life. The general aim of Islamic education is to make the personality of every believer have advanced thinking, ready to legalize every truth of his knowledge, and expert in implementing the knowledge he has. The goals of Islamic education can be realized if it is carried out according to the correct basics, namely the Koran and Hadith. One of these government regulations is regulations. Regarding the nine-year compulsory education program, namely elementary school and junior high school or equivalent. Therefore, Islamic education has existed since the Old Order era until the Reformation era, where the quality of education has increasingly improved and experienced good changes.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an influence of the PBL model on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities in class VIII students at MTsN 2 Medan for the 2023/2024 academic year, by seeing whether the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who are guided by the PBL model are higher than students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. who are guided through conventional learning models in the topic of flat-sided geometric figures (cubes and blocks). This research uses a type of quasi-experimental research. The sample for this research was class VIII-2 with 30 students as the experimental class taught using the PBL model and class VIII-3 with 30 students taught using the conventional model. The test instrument uses pre-test and post-test questions in the form of descriptions of 4 questions which are aligned with indicators of mathematical critical thinking abilities and have been validated. Before testing the hypothesis, a data normality test was first carried out using the Liliefors test and a data homogeneity test using the F test. After being given treatment, the PBL class obtained an average value of 90.42 and the conventional class obtained an average value of 79.82. From the results of one party t-test calculations, the results of the hypothesis test t-count > t-table are 4.5875 > 1.672, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected or Ha is accepted. Thus, there is an influence of the PBL model on students' critical thinking abilities, where the critical mathematical thinking abilities of students taught using the PBL model are higher than the critical mathematical thinking of students taught using conventional learning models on flat-sided geometric material (cubes and blocks) in class VIII MTsN 2 Medan Academic Year 2023/2024.
