Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Hedonic Motivation, and Social Media Use on the intention to continue participating in running events. The study is motivated by the rising trend of running and the limited research regarding the psychological factors and social media usage that drive sustained participation in such activities. The respondents were participants of the UNWIKU Edu Run 2026 held in Purwokerto. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis via AMOS software. Data were collected from 146 respondents selected through non-probability sampling, using a Likert scale instrument. The results indicate that FOMO (CR = 2.350; p = 0.019), Hedonic Motivation (CR = 3.560; p = 0.000), and Social Media Use (CR = 8.563; p = 0.000) significantly influence the intention to continue participating. Collectively, these three variables explain 69.2% of the variance in the intention to continue participating, while the remaining 31.8% is attributed to factors outside the research model. The findings suggest that the fear of missing out on valuable experiences, the drive to gain enjoyable experiences, and the use of social media—for information gathering, interaction, and sharing experiences related to the fun run—can foster a desire for sustained participation. As the study was limited to the "fun run" category, the results should be generalized with caution; future research is encouraged to examine various categories of running events and broader geographical areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and price on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable, among Generation Z customers who use JNE Express in Purworejo Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of Generation Z customers who use JNE Express services in Purworejo Regency. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling, with a total sample of 155 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results show that service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. In contrast, price has no significant effect on either customer loyalty or customer satisfaction. Furthermore, customer satisfaction mediates the effect of service quality on customer loyalty but does not mediate the effect of price on customer loyalty. These findings indicate that increasing customer loyalty among JNE Express customers is more effectively achieved through improving service quality that creates customer satisfaction rather than through pricing strategies.

Abstract

This study analyzes the performance of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) in improving employee discipline at the Regional Water Company (PDAM) of Manado City. It addresses how SPI performs its supervisory function, which factors support or hinder performance, and what efforts SPI undertakes to improve discipline. A descriptive qualitative method from Miles and Huberman was used, applying Kasmir's (2019) performance framework across five aspects: quality, quantity, timeliness, effectiveness, and responsibility. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving management, SPI staff, and employees. Results show SPI carries out its function per the SOP and generally contributes positively to discipline, particularly in working-hour compliance and task execution. However, effectiveness remains limited by insufficient personnel, so supervision has not maximally covered all work units, and follow-up on recommendations still takes relatively long. SPI's performance has run reasonably well but still requires stronger human resources, supervisory intensity, and consistent sanctions and rewards.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of scarcity marketing on impulse buying of skincare products among TikTok Shop users in Semarang Regency, with emotional arousal and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) as intervening variables. The phenomenon of scarcity marketing, which is increasingly used by skincare sellers on the TikTok Shop platform, is considered capable of triggering emotional and psychological responses in consumers that ultimately drive impulsive purchases. The respondents in this study consisted of 70 active TikTok Shop users who had previously purchased skincare products in Semarang Regency, selected using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS software version 4.1.1.8. The research results show that scarcity marketing has a positive and significant effect on impulse buying, both directly and thru the mediation of emotional arousal and FoMO. These findings indicate that product scarcity communicated urgently can evoke emotional excitement and fear of missing out, which in turn strengthens the tendency for spontaneous purchases. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the development of digital consumer behavior literature, as well as practical implications for skincare entrepreneurs in designing marketing strategies based on social media platforms.

Abstract

This study was designed to examine the roles of brand trust and brand equity in mediating the relationship between brand experience and willingness to pay a price premium (WTPPP) among coffee shop consumers. A quantitative approach was adopted, involving 80 purposively selected respondents from Generation Z (aged 18–28) in Semarang Regency who had previously purchased from coffee shops. Data were collected using a 1–5 Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS via SmartPLS 4.1.1.8. The findings reveal two key insights. First, brand experience does not significantly influence WTPPP through brand trust; this indicates that brand trust alone is insufficient to transform consumer experience into a willingness to pay a premium price. Second, brand experience has a positive and significant effect on WTPPP through brand equity. This implies that when consumers hold a positive perception of brand equity encompassing awareness, associations, and loyalty their experience with the brand translates more readily into a willingness to pay a premium. Thus, it can be concluded that brand equity serves as a more effective mediator than brand trust in this context.

Abstract

This study examines how handicraft micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating in a traditional market develop dynamic capabilities under conditions of resource constraint, relational embeddedness, and uneven digitalisation. Using a qualitative case-study design, data were collected from ten owners and managers of handicraft MSMEs in Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta, through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and business documentation. Data were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis, cross-case comparison, and abductive reasoning, with sensing, seizing, and transforming used as sensitising concepts rather than predetermined coding categories. Seven interrelated themes emerged: relational market sensing, calculated experimentation, incremental resource reconfiguration, relational capability as strategic capital, selective digital adaptation, heterogeneous pathways to competitiveness, and learning through failure. The findings reveal a distinctive adaptive mechanism in which market changes are sensed primarily through customer and business relationships, opportunities are seized through low-risk experimentation, and resources are transformed through cumulative micro-adjustments rather than radical restructuring. Digital technologies complement these processes by extending relational reach and information flows rather than replacing established market relationships. The study develops a relational-incremental microfoundation of dynamic capabilities, demonstrating how strategically meaningful adaptation can emerge from informal, resource-conscious, and socially embedded practices. These findings extend dynamic capability theory into the context of traditional-market microenterprises and challenge assumptions that effective SME adaptation necessarily depends on extensive formalisation or comprehensive digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe Employee Performance, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Work Discipline; and (2) analyze the effects of Facilities and Infrastructure and Work Discipline on Employee Performance, both partially and simultaneously. The population of this study consisted of 56 employees of the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency of Sikka Regency. Due to the limited population size, this study employed a census or saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods, namely multiple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the F-test and t-test. The results of the descriptive analysis indicate that the Employee Performance variable was categorized as very good, the Facilities and Infrastructure variable was categorized as very good, and the Work Discipline variable was also categorized as very good. The results of the t-test show that, partially, Facilities and Infrastructure have a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Furthermore, Work Discipline has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. The results of the F-test indicate that, simultaneously, Facilities and Infrastructure and Work Discipline have a significant effect on Employee Performance. The coefficient of determination analysis shows that the two independent variables in this study are able to explain 44.7% of the variation in Employee Performance at the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency of Sikka Regency.
