Abstract

Humans will experience old age or old age (elderly) where when in that phase there will be a decrease in muscle mass so that it will affect the mobility of the elderly. Socialization of medicinal plants (TOGA) and ergonomics of movement for the elderly is knowledge provided for the elderly who live in Meruya Utara Village, especially in RT 004/09, where the number of elderly is quite large. This socialization is expected to help improve the knowledge and understanding of the elderly regarding the benefits of family medicinal plants and ergonomics of movement problems. The explanation of the use of TOGA plants that is conveyed is mainly related to the processing of TOGA, especially those that have properties for bone and muscle health where there are various types of TOGA that can maintain bone and muscle health such as ginger, temulawak, celery, and lemongrass. The explanation of ergonomic movement is conveyed starting from the type of elderly, problems faced, elderly diseases, safe activities for the elderly and a focus on rearranging the bathroom which is an area prone to frequent accidents for the elderly where the elderly bathroom must at least have a sitting toilet, railing, water reservoir, rough bathroom floor and a door handle with a handle

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a common metabolic condition found in the adult population and significantly contributes to the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary heart disease and stroke. This condition is often asymptomatic, making early detection of total cholesterol and HDL levels a crucial step in identifying the risk of atherosclerosis at an earlier stage. A screening program conducted at the Asisi Church revealed that out of 68 participants, 34 individuals (50%) had abnormal total cholesterol levels, while 10 individuals (14.71%) had very low HDL levels, and 33 individuals (48.53%) had low HDL levels. These findings emphasize the importance of routine lipid profile assessments to prevent more severe cardiometabolic complications. Through education on healthy eating patterns, increased physical activity, and better control of risk factors, the community is expected to maintain optimal lipid profiles and improve overall quality of life.

Abstract

Liver disease is a health problem that often goes undetected in its early stages due to the absence of specific symptoms, despite the liver's vital role in metabolism, detoxification, and maintaining homeostasis. Early detection is crucial to prevent the progression of liver dysfunction. This community service activity aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of early liver disease screening through the examination of lipid ratios (total cholesterol/HDL and triglycerides/HDL) and physical evaluation for clinical signs of liver dysfunction. The program was conducted at the Cengkareng Baptist Foundation and involved 59 adult participants. The screening included basic laboratory tests and direct physical examinations, followed by health education tailored to each participant based on their screening results. Findings revealed that 83.1% of participants had elevated triglyceride/HDL ratios and 28.8% had total cholesterol/HDL ratios above the normal range, although 100% showed no physical signs suggestive of liver disease. These results indicate the presence of underlying metabolic risks that may affect liver function. This program had a positive impact by enhancing public understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular check-ups as part of health promotion and disease prevention efforts related to liver health. Abstract

Lung health plays a vital role in maintaining individual productivity and metabolic functions, especially in adults. Early detection of pulmonary function decline is essential, as respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma often develop insidiously. This community service program aimed to conduct early screening of lung function using spirometry in Grogol Subdistrict, West Jakarta, targeting the productive-age population. The activity followed a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, beginning with public education and proceeding to spirometry tests, result evaluations, and follow-up medical advice. A total of 71 participants were involved, with a mean age of 43.6 years. The average spirometric values were: Vital Capacity (VC) 2.32 L, Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) 2.09 L, Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second (FEV1) 1.95 L, and FEV1/FVC ratio of 92.14%. Most participants (98.6%) were categorized as "normal/at risk", with only 1.4% suspected of having a pulmonary disorder. These findings underscore the importance of routine lung health monitoring in asymptomatic individuals. Through early screening and health education, this program contributes to increasing public awareness of respiratory health, promoting preventive strategies, and potentially reducing the burden of chronic lung diseases in the long term. Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM)) are the backbone of Indonesia’s economy but still struggle with inconsistent product quality, weak managerial systems and limited competitiveness. This community‑engagement project aimed to strengthen MSME capabilities through ISO 9001:2015‑based quality management mentoring. An interactive webinar titled “Realising Excellent MSMEs through ISO 9001‑Based Assistance” was delivered by a multidisciplinary team of lecturers acting as trainers and facilitators. Training sessions combined conceptual lectures, implementation case studies and discussions on drafting SOPs, conducting internal audits and applying risk‑based thinking. Participants received a comprehensive package covering the rationale for quality management, the structure of clauses 4–10, and the step‑by‑step route to external certification. Post‑training feedback indicated improved understanding of how ISO 9001 can systematise processes, enhance efficiency and build market trust. The project demonstrates that knowledge‑driven academic–industry collaboration can accelerate MSMEs’ move “up the ladder” and make them more competitive. Follow‑up on‑site mentoring is recommended to ensure sustained adoption of ISO 9001 within participating enterprises.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a disease caused by a virus that is very dangerous because it can cause patients to die in a very short time. Eradicating the Aedes aegypti mosquito is the most important way to eradicate dengue disease, this is done because vaccines to prevent and drugs to eradicate the dengue virus are not yet available. Abate (tempo’s) is one of the groups of pesticides used to kill insects in the larval stage. The goal is to increase public knowledge about the use of abate as a form of dengue prevention. The method carried out in the implementation of community service activities uses the extension method. As a result, the Abate Movement Program has shown positive results in increasing public awareness and knowledge related to dengue prevention. This activity not only provides education, but also encourages real actions in the neighborhood where residents live, such as the use of abate and the implementation of PHBS.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that is common in the elderly and has a major impact on quality of life, especially through risk complications such as impaired vision, heart disease, kidney failure, and amputation. The elderly are often unaware of the early symptoms of diabetes because complaints are considered part of the aging process, such as fatigue or frequent urination. The Community Service Program (PKM) at Panti Werdha Hana aims to increase awareness of the elderly about the importance of early detection of diabetes through fasting blood sugar screening activities. This activity uses the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach which includes checking blood sugar levels with the Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) tool and educational counseling on risk factors and prevention of diabetes. The results showed that out of 76 participants, 8 people (10.53%) were identified as having diabetes, 9 people (11.84%) had prediabetes, and the rest had normal blood sugar levels. Early detection through screening has proven to be an important step in preventing diabetes progression and severe complications, as well as supporting the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly through timely interventions and ongoing education.
