Abstract

Indonesia, which is in the subduction zone, is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis. This community service activity aims to increase the awareness of the youth of the Banguntapan Asri Housing Youth Organization regarding earthquake and tsunami disaster mitigation. Through interactive zoominar, participants were given material on the causes, impacts, and mitigation measures of disasters. The methods used include pre-test, post-test, and discussion sessions. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in participants' knowledge about earthquake and tsunami mitigation. However, there are still several questions that need to be answered further to improve similar programs in the future. Overall, this activity makes a positive contribution to efforts to build a disaster safe culture in the community

Abstract

The service team of the Indonesian language and literature education study programme at Nusantara PGRI Kediri University held a workshop on differentiated learning strategies for teachers at MTSN 10 Nganjuk Regency on 10-12 September 2024. The workshop aims to explain the essence of differentiated learning strategies and develop systematic lesson plans, which are based on legal frameworks such as the National Education System Law and Government Regulations on National Education Standards. Curriculum development paradigms include progressivism, constructivism, humanism and cybernetics, with a focus on fostering students' independence and preparing them for the challenges of the 21st century. Differentiated learning will involve modifying materials, processes, products, environments, and evaluations, while also emphasising the importance of understanding students' learning styles for a more effective learning experience. Thus learning difficulties and other learning problems experienced by students can be resolved and the learning objectives that have been planned by teachers and institutions can be achieved well.

Abstract

Parents have a very important role in accompanying their children, especially in the digital world such as the internet. Children, especially in the digital world such as the internet. For this reason, parents need to understand how to use the internet properly and wisely. The purpose of this counseling is to provide education about the use of the internet for parents of the internet for parents of students at Mutiara Bunda Kindergarten so that they can be better assist their children. The implementation method is carried out with three stages. Starting from the preparation stage, implementation, to the evaluation stage. Based on observations, it was found that students at Mutiara Bunda Kindergarten were able to operate gadgets to operate gadgets to just play online games and even surf the internet. even though. The material presented covers various aspects, such as the role of parents in accompanying children in the internet world, the benefits and risks that children may face when exploring the internet, as well as tips on supervising children in using the internet.

Abstract

In an era of rapid technological development, social media has become an integral part of teenagers' lives. Although social media offers various benefits, such as communication, information exchange, and business opportunities, its uncontrolled use can have the potential to have a negative impact on mental health. This research aims to explore the influence of social media on adolescent mental health, focusing on the phenomena of social comparison, anxiety and depression that often arise due to exposure to idealistic content. Teenagers often feel pressured to meet unrealistic standards, which can worsen their self-confidence, especially in the context of cyberbullying and online harassment. The research was carried out using a descriptive method, through the stages of preparation, implementation, evaluation and determining solutions. The research results show the importance of supervision and guidance for teenagers in using social media. Proposed solutions include limiting time used on social media, increasing interpersonal communication, and spending time with those closest to you to create an environment that supports mental health. With these steps, it is hoped that teenagers can maintain their mental health and face life's challenges better.

Abstract

In the digital era, various conveniences in everyday life include the use of social media, especially for elementary school students who have started to actively use social media. However, ignorance of digital ethics and security can have negative impacts such as addiction, cyberbullying, and the spread of fake news. Therefore, early introduction to the positive and negative impacts of social media is needed. The main focus of the study is to provide education to Cilolohan students about the importance of social media ethics and the benefits of social media in education. The implementation method used is to provide direct education through class activities, discussions and simulations of using social media wisely. The materials presented include, introduction to social media, positive and negative impacts, and good ethics in using social media. The results of this activity, we saw a significant increase in students' understanding of how to use social media safely and wisely. They are better able to recognize the risks that can occur in cyberspace and understand how to maintain privacy and behave politely on digital platforms. With an easy-to-understand approach, it is hoped that students can apply the knowledge gained in using social media more wisely, be able to increase awareness and responsibility for digital literacy, and create a safe and productive digital environment.

Abstract

The proliferation of hoaxes among students represents a significant challenge in the digital age, with the potential to impair their overall comprehension and critical thinking abilities. This article presents a review of community service activities designed to enhance students' digital literacy, with the objective of reducing the dissemination of hoaxes. The principal objective of this activity is to equip students with the capacity to distinguish between reliable and unreliable information and to enhance their awareness of the detrimental impact of hoaxes. The approach employed comprised interactive presentations and group discussions. This activity was implemented at SMP Negeri 17 Tasikmalaya. The results demonstrated a notable enhancement in students' comprehension of the concept of digital literacy and their capacity to discern misinformation. This activity is deemed efficacious in fostering students' critical abilities and curbing the potential for disseminating hoaxes within the school environment. This illustrates that the objectives of the service have been met.

Abstract

In this era of globalisation, social media is now an essential part of the daily lives of teenagers around the world. Teenagers can quickly connect with their friends, share experiences, and access various information thanks to technological advances and easy access. Based on the summary above, our service group from Siliwangi University socialised ‘Optimising the use of social media in a healthy and safe manner’ which was held at SMPN 11 Tasikmalaya city which is located on Jl.Cilendek No.11 A. Ciberem Tasikmalaya City. The target of the service programme is students at SMPN 11 Tasikmalaya City, which amounts to about 38 people in the library room. This activity presents material on the importance of parenting through healthy and safe use of social media as an effort to reduce social media addiction in adolescents, especially in adolescents at SMPN 11 Tasikmalaya City. This socialisation is expected to provide a learning tool in the future and make a positive contribution to the use of social media both from virtual and real interactions.

Abstract

The title of this socialisation activity is Building Healthy Internet Awareness among Children The rapid development of the internet is a challenge for children to use it wisely and safely. However, this ease of access also brings great challenges related to wise and safe use. The lack of understanding about digital literacy can lead to negative impacts, such as exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and internet addiction. This socialisation programme at PKBM Hikmah aims to build healthy internet awareness through digital literacy education, introduction to healthy concepts, and application of parental controls. The methods used include needs analysis, action plan development, and implementation of educational sessions. This activity includes interactive education sessions for children as well as assistance to parents and educators. The results of the programme showed a significant increase in the understanding of internet risks, how to maintain privacy, and how to activate time restrictions on the internet. The programme also provided practical guidance for parents and educators to assist children in using the internet wisely. In conclusion, the programme successfully achieved its objectives by providing the necessary knowledge to support positive development for children in the digital age.

Abstract

The waste problem is one of the environmental problems that has not been resolved properly in Indonesia. One of the efforts to reduce is by sorting waste based on its type so that it is easier to determine the next processing method and applying the 3Rs (reuse, reduce, and recycle) to prevent and reduce waste piles. The application of the 3R concept has proven to be an effective solution to minimize the negative impact of waste on the environment. The method used in this activity uses an interactive method. This activity involved measuring students' knowledge through post-test and post-test, the results of which were tested using the Wilcoxon test with a p-value of 0.000. The analysis showed a significant difference in the students' knowledge level, with more than 50 percent of the participants having increased knowledge, indicating the effectiveness of this educational program. Through this activity, it is hoped that a culture of environmental care will be created among students that can have a positive impact on the school environment and the surrounding community.

Abstract

This Community Service aims to prevent rabies in cats and educate the community on how to avoid rabies as a source of transmission from animals. The urgency of this service is based on the fact that Rabies is a disease that can be fatal to humans and warm-blooded animals with a case fatality of 100%, cats can be a source of transmission through bites. The technical implementation of this service consists of several stages. First, education is carried out on the community in the Rungkut area, the second stage is the prevention of rabies with vaccination, then an evaluation of the results and writing of the output of community service is carried out. The target output achieved is the publication of scientific articles in National journals with ISSN. Articles in local electronic mass media, and documentation of the implementation in the form of photos and videos uploaded to the UWKS media center YouTube. This activity is also related to MBKM from 2 aspects: lecturers and students. Lecturers have the opportunity to implement their scientific knowledge to be applied in society, this is related to the Main Work Indicator (IKU) 5 program. Meanwhile, students can participate in activities outside the campus that support the achievement of IKU 2. This activity successfully carried out rabies vaccination on 60 owned domestic cats and was accompanied by education about rabies as a preventable disease.
