Abstract

Moringa leaves (Moringa Oleifera Lam.) are known to have many chemical contents such as vitamin A, vitamin C, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, carotenoids, tannins and triterpenoids with high uses, one of which is as an immunostimulant. Previous researchers reported that moringa leaves have been developed in various preparations but have not been able to cover the problem of the smell and taste of moringa leaves that are less accepted by consumers. In this study, moringa leaves were combined with lime peel ginger (Citus aurantifolia) to cover the taste and smell of moringa leaves. This study aims to determine the immunostimulant activity of moringa and lime peel in three formulas.  Formula F1= moringa:lime peel (1:1); F2= moringa:lime peel (2:1) F3= moringa:lime peel (3:1); F4= moringa extract. The research conducted was experimental research with the research design used was a completely randomised design and three different treatments with three repetitions. Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that 12 experimental units were obtained. Statistical analysis using the probit test. The results of plant identification showed true moringa leaves and lime peel with chemical content of flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, alkaloids, saponins based on the results of colour recreation. The IC50 value of immunostimulant activity test of the best formula of tea as immunostimulant is F4, F3, F2 and F1 respectively: 701.83 ± 113.36; 701.83 ± 113.36; 488.08 ± 139.60; 488.08 ± 139.60 µg/mL. Overall, the formulas have the potential to be developed as immunostimulants.

Abstract

Colorants are known to be food additives as ordinary colors and artificial colors, which when added or applied to food can give or further develop variety. As a shade of food or water, including carotene, rivoflavin, cobalamin, caramel, chlorophyll, myoglobin, hemoglobin, anthocyanins, flavonoids, quinones, and xanthones. To distinguish the red color produced in Makassar's homemade sweetened water by using the techniques of minimum base chromatography and visible light spectrophutometry and to determine the suitability of the color used with the Indonesian Population Guidelines Order 033 Period 2012 concerning food additives. Techniques: This kind of exploration uses a logical graphic strategy (perception of the research center) which means to get a picture of the utilization of a food additive, specifically the processed red color as a shade in water private-made sweeteners circulating in the Makassar section market. A sample of privately made sweeteners from the Makassar section tested positive for manufactured red color Carmoisine, which is an engineered shading agent allowed in food. The level of Carmoisine in the sweetener testing was 36.31 mg. kg, this indicates that the color level of Carmoisine meets the requirements specified in the Population and Safety Guidelines of the Republic of Indonesia, Order 033 Period 2012, which is 70 mg.kg.

Abstract

Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a condition of excessive nausea and vomiting often experienced during pregnancy. Although common, the impact of HG on the pregnant mother and fetus can be significant. Therefore, this study aims to explore the factors associated with the incidence of HG at the University of Eastern Indonesia Tourism General Hospital. This study aims to Identify factors associated with the incidence of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Analyze the severity of HG and its impact on the health of pregnant women. Assess the effectiveness of various methods of management and intervention against HG. The research method used was observational research with a case-control study approach. Data were collected through interviews with pregnant women who experienced HG and pregnant women without complaints of excessive nausea. In addition, medical data and medical records were also analyzed to obtain further information. Based on data analysis, it was found that several factors such as family history, maternal age, and nutritional status could be associated with the incidence of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The severity of HG is also associated with pregnancy complications and fetal growth. Interventions such as nutritional management and psychological support were found to be effective in reducing the severity of HG. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that certain factors have a correlation with the incidence of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. By understanding these factors, better prevention and intervention efforts can be developed to improve maternal and fetal health.
