Abstract

Background : Nutrition is one of the important factors in achieving health status. Indonesia is currently experiencing an increase in life expectancy and an increase in the number of elderly people. Therefore, elderly health needs to get special attention in giving nutrition. The importance of the role of families with the elderly, one of which is nutrition. Objective : to find out the relationship between the level of family knowledge in providing nutritious food to the elderly with nutritional status of the elderly. Methods : This research is analytical descriptive with cross sectional approach. The population is all families who live with the elderly, taking samples with purposive random sampling, obtained 43 respondents. The instrument uses questionnaires containing knowledge of nutrition and anthropometry to determine nutritional status. Univariate and bivariate data analysis with Chi Square test. Results : Of the 43 families with the elderly, the junior high school education level was 42%, the level of family knowledge in providing nutrition to the elderly with knowledge of the turtle was 46% and the nutritional status of the elderly was 42% obese. Based on the results of the Chi Square statistic test, the p value of 0.003 0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between the level of family knowledge in providing nutrition for the elderly and nutritional status. The higher the level of knowledge of the family, the better the nutritional status.Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between family knowledge about providing nutrition with the nutritional status of the elderly.

Abstract

Latar Belakang  : Diabetes melitustipe 2 merupakan penyakit diabetes melitus  dengan penyebab utama adalah pola makan (life style) yang tidak sehat. Pengaturan terapi diet memegang peranan penting dalam pengendalian kadar gula darah. Rainbow smoothies adalah salah satu modifikasi diet yang disajikan sebagai minuman segar kaya nutrisi, tinggi serat dan rendah IG serta dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah pasien DM tipe 2.Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas rainbow smoothies terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pada pasien DM Tipe 2 di klub senam.Metode  : Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental dengan randomized pre test-post test control group design. Subyek penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol dengan pengukuran kadar gula darah puasa sebanyak 3 kali selama 10 hari. Uji normalitas menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji repetead measure test.Hasil : Data yang dikumpulkan berdistribusi normal dan menunjukkan adanya penurunan kadar gula darah secara bermaknasebelum dan sesudah perlakuan (p0,05). Penurunan kadar gula darah pada kelompok perlakuanyang diberi rainbow smoothies paling efektif hingga 43,75%  dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Terdapatperbedaan nilai rata-rata kadar gula darah pasien DM Tipe 2.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of diabetes is increasing, one of the pillars of intervention is the provision of high-fiber or complex carbohydrates food. Sorghum as local food has the potential to manufacture as cookies diabetes because it contains fiber and low glycemic index. Foods with a low glycemic index help to prevent against high blood glucose fluctuation. Levels of resistant starch can be improved with the addition of parboiled red beans fluor. Parboiled process aims to improve the digestibility and resistant starch level of red beans. Objective: Determine parboiled red beans fluor % addition which still preferred by consumer panelists, and then determine the glycemic index of cookies sorghum with the addition of selected parboiled red beans fluor. Methods: Experimental study, the first stage was organoleptic test with randomized block design. 6 treatments of parboiled red bean flour and three replications. The addition consists of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. The second stage was the determination of the glycemic index. The subject had to fasting for 10 hours, consumed white bread, and then measured the glycemic response at 0, 30, 60, 90, 120 minute. Four days later the same step repeated with cookies sorghum as food had to consumed. Glycemic index values determined by comparing the inceremental area under curve of cookies sorghum with the incremental area under curve of white bread. Results: The addition of parboiled red bean flour preference is 30%. Cookies sorgum glycemic index was 48.5Conclusion: Cookies sorghum can be used as a snack food for healthy people because it has a low glycemic index

Abstract

National Riskesdas in 2013 reached 2.5%. Preliminary research found the prevalence of obesity in class VII and VIII students of Nasima Semarang Middle School at 22.3%.Objective: To determine the relationship between fast food consumption habits and nutritional knowledge with obesity in students of Nasima Semarang Middle School.Research Methods: This type of research is community nutrition with a case control method. The number of research samples was 50 students and 50 control students. The data collected were BB, TB, consumption habits of western fast food, fast food consumption habits, and nutritional knowledge using the interview method using a questionnaire. To find out the relationship between variables used Chi-Square test and Fisher Exact test with 95% confidence level.Research Results: The results of the study showed that the frequency of western fast food consumption bulan 29 times / month in obese samples was 54% while the normal sample was 20%. The frequency of fast food local consumption≥71 times / month in obese samples was 56% while the normal sample was 14%. The level of knowledge of malnutrition in obese samples was 62% while the normal sample was 26%.Conclusion: There is a relationship between the consumption habits of western fast food with obesity (p = 0,000, OR = 4,694), there is a relationship between local fast food and obesity (p = 0,000, OR = 7.82), and there is a relationship between knowledge of nutrition and obesity (p = 0,000, OR = 4.64). It is recommended to carry out regular weight and height weighing and counseling activities related to obesity. In addition, further research is needed to find out other factors that affect obesity such as stress factors, economic factors, and physical activity.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition where there is an increase in pressure. One of the main causes of hypertension is a lifestyle and a wrong diet. Preserved foods and kitchen salt and high amounts of flavoring can increase blood pressure because they contain excessive amounts of sodium.Objective: To determine the relationship between sodium intake and blood pressure in employees at SMA N 1 Batang.Method: This study was a clinical nutrition field study with a cross sectional approach. The sample was 50 people in SMA N 1 Batang which were determined by random sampling. Data collected in the form of general data samples obtained through the form of collecting data samples, data on sodium intake through a semi-quantitative food frequency form, and blood pressure through measurements using a spignomanometer. Test statistics are used to analyze the relationship between variables using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test.Results: The results showed that 58.0% of the samples had enough sodium intake and 64.0% of the samples had normal blood pressure. The results of statistical tests show that there is a relationship between sodium intake and systolic and diastolic blood pressure with a value of p 0.05.Conclusion: There is a correlation between sodium intake and blood pressure in employees in SMA 1 Batang.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Penyakit Tidak Menular (PTM) kini banyak diderita di Indonesia. Meningkatnya kejadian PTM berkaitan dengan perubahan gaya hidup sehingga menimbulkan faktor risiko PTM yang dapat digambarkan dengan perilaku remaja saat ini seperti merokok, konsumsi sayur buah kurang, kurangnya olahraga dan aktivitas fisik dan konsumsi minuman beralkohol. Masalah ini dapat ditanggulangi dengan melakukan edukasi. Buku saku dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu media dalam kegiatan edukasi tersebut.Tujuan : Mengetahui pengaruh edukasi faktor risiko penyakit tidak menular (PTM) dengan media buku saku terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Wiradesa Kabupaten Pekalongan.Metode : Penelitian termasuk kedalam lingkup ilmu gizi masyarakat. Jenis penelitian quasi experiment design dengan rancangan Pretest Posttest dengan kelompok kontrol (Pretest-Posttest with Control Group). Jumlah sampel sebanyak 80 siswa. Data yang dikumpulkan yaitu pengetahuan dan sikap. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji Mann Whitney dan uji Independent T-Test.Hasil : Edukasi gizi dengan buku saku dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Wiradesa. Ada perbedaan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi gizi dengan media buku saku “AKSI CERDIK UNTUK CEGAH PTM (Penyakit Tidak Menular)” (p value = 0,000 dan p value = 0,002).Kesimpulan : Ada pengaruh pemberian buku saku “AKSI CERDIK UNTUK CEGAH PTM (Penyakit Tidak Menular)” sebagai media edukasi gizi terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Wiradesa.

Abstract

Background : Fiber intake of the Central Java population on average 51% of the level of adequacy of the fiber. Lack of fiber can cause constipation, which gives the symptoms of constipation is less convenient because of the perceived pain either before or during the process of defecation. Recent study showed that the prevalence of constipation women who worked in Jakarta was 47.6%. Good source of fiber for constipation is insoluble fiber found in fruits and vegetables, among others present in red guava, green apple, and papaya are then processed into juice. Taste test research has been conducted to test the acceptability of the juice . Then be made juices are high in fiber with 50 grams of the composition of guava, green apple 25 grams, and 25 grams of papaya is shortened to Juice Jaya.Objective: This study aimed to determine the Effect of Juice Jaya to Constipation In Level I Student of Nutrition Department of Health Polytechnic Semarang 2013/2014.Method: This study used the Approach Pre-test - Post test randomized control group design.and Anacova analize with MoH polytechnic students were 20 people who suffer from constipation .Results: First level of Nutrition Program Students have constipation is 21.55 %. Fiber intake before the study was 14.52 grams in the treatment group and was 13.53 grams in the control group. After the study, Fiber intake on the treatment group increased 20.45 grams, and relative constan in the control group 14.79 grams (p = 0.004). Incidence of constipation after the study decreased to 15.0 % in the treatment group and relative equal 50.0 % in the control group (p = 0.003) .Conclusion: There is the effect of the juice Jaya on the incidence of constipation in first level of Nutrition Departemen Students of Health Polytecnic Semarang.

Latar Belakang : Informasi gizi yang kurang akan berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi makanan pasien, sehingga penting sekali anjuran makan bagi pasien. Konseling gizi diharapkan dapat menimbulkan kesadaran pasien terhadap asupan makanan Manfaat dari konseling gizi dapat membantu proses penyembuhan penyakit melalui perbaikan gizi, mencari alternatif pemecahan masalah dan memilih cara pemecahan masalah yang paling sesuai bagi pasien.Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa makanan diet rendah garam di ruang rawat inap penyakit dalam RSUD Prof. DR. W.Z. Johanes KupangMetode : Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah One-group pre test - post test (rancangan pre-pasca test dalam satu kelompok) dimana dilihat sisa makanan diet pasien sebelum mendapat konseling gizi dan sesudah diberikan konseling gizi.Subyek penelitian yang digunakan sejumlah 30 pasien diamati sisa asupannya dengan metode comstok. Analisis bivariat yang digunakan adalah paired t-test.Hasil : Persentase sisa asupan makanan pokok sebelum konseling rata-rata sebesar 29.50% sedangkan setelah konseling sebesar 19.72%. Persentase sisa asupan lauk hewani sebelum konseling rata-rata sebesar 26.33% sedangkan setelah konseling sebesar 20.17%. Persentase sisa asupan lauk nabati sebelum konseling rata-rata sebesar 30.67% sedangkan setelah konseling sebesar 23.00%. Persentase sisa asupan sayuran sebelum konseling rata-rata sebesar 30.83% sedangkan setelah konseling sebesar 15.28%. Persentase sisa asupan buah sebelum konseling rata-rata sebesar 27.42% sedangkan setelah konseling sebesar 17.33%Kesimpulan : Ada pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa asupan makanan pokok dengan p-value 0.000. Ada pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa asupan gizi lauk hewani dengan p-value 0.003. Ada pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa asupan gizi lauk nabati dengan p-value 0.004. Ada pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa asupan gizi sayuran dengan p-value 0.000. Ada pengaruh pemberian konseling gizi terhadap sisa asupan gizi buah dengan p-value 0.000.

Abstract

Background: The impact of stunting children is an enhancement in the incidence of morbidity and mortality, development cognitive, motoric, nonoptimal children verbal, enhancement of health costs, nonoptimal as an adult, enhancement risk of obesity, decreased health of reproduction, low capacity of learning, productivity and also work capacity which is not optimal.Purpose: The objective of this research is to find out overview of nutritional intake, infection and sanitation against stunting children under aged tree years.Method: The research design was cross section with the population of a household that have a children aged 6-35 months. A sample of 368 children aged 6-35 months were taken in a cluster.Results: There was no dependence on stunting with the length of birth (p0.05), and there was no dependance on stunting with the weight of birth (p 0.05). There is no relation between maternal education level with stunting (p 0.05). There is no relation between maternal energy intake with stunting (p 0.05).  There was a significant difference (p = 0.025) on stunting based on giving feed or ekslusif breastmilk.Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the time of complementary feeding with exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting children under aged three years.Suggestion: Education is required for prospective mothers or mothers who have babies for giving breastmilk (ASI) until the baby is six months old or exclusively breastfed.

Abstract

Background  : Hypertension is a long term condition in which blood pressure is higher than 140/90 mmHg. Antihypertensive drugs therapy took a long time and caused side effects so that further treatment is needed through non-pharmalogycal therapy such as the consumption of smoothies combination of various fruits and vegetables that contain high fiber and potassium.Objective  : To determine the effectiveness of smoothies combination of various fruits and vegetables consumtion to changes in blood pressure change in adult women.Method  : This research is a  true experiment with Randomized Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. Sampling was done randomly to get 30 samples. Data collection were included by age, nutritional status, occupation, blood pressure data before and after treatment and fiber, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium intakes.Results  : There was an effect of smoothies combination of various fruits and vegetables consumtion to decrease cytolic and diastolic blood pressure during the study with confounding variables of fiber, sodium, potassium and magnesium intake (p = 0.025 and p = 0.037).Conclusion  : The average systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group were decreased after consumtion smoothies combination of various fruits and vegetables, while the control group tended to increased because they were not consume smoothies.
