Abstract

The use of concrete media in mathematics learning plays an important role in helping students understand abstract concepts, particularly fractions. Students often experience difficulties in understanding the concept of equivalent fractions due to abstract learning and a lack of connection to real-world experiences. This study aims to analyze the process of using concrete media in mathematics learning on equivalent fractions in fifth-grade elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods through observation and interviews with teachers and documentation of learning activities. The concrete media used in this study included origami paper, wafers, and pizza replicas, which were chosen because their shapes and properties allow students to carry out activities of dividing, cutting, and arranging parts according to the concept of fractions. The results of the study indicate that the use of concrete media not only functions as a visual aid but also provides a multisensory experience that can actively engage students in learning. Through direct activities with real objects, students can more easily understand the relationship between parts and the whole, and construct a more meaningful understanding of equivalent fractions. In addition, the use of concrete media can create a contextual, fun, and interactive learning atmosphere, thereby encouraging learning motivation and increasing student engagement in the learning process. The findings of this study confirm that concrete media functions beyond mere aids, but rather as a learning strategy appropriate to the cognitive developmental characteristics of elementary school students. By using concrete media, teachers can facilitate more effective learning, build mathematical concepts gradually, and reduce students' misconceptions regarding fractions.

Abstract

This research focuses on nastar cookies filled with jackfruit jam, in which wheat flour as the main ingredient is proportionally substituted with cassava tapai flour to reduce the use of wheat flour. The aim of this study is to determine the organoleptic quality of nastar cookies with jackfruit jam filling—including color, shape, aroma, taste, and texture—as well as their nutritional content, including protein, carbohydrates, fat, ash, and moisture. This study uses an experimental method. Data collection was conducted through sensory evaluation by 30 panelists. The independent variable is the proportion of cassava tapai flour (10g, 20g, and 30g). The dependent variable is the organoleptic quality, including color, shape, aroma, taste, and texture. The controlled variables include the type of ingredients, equipment, and processing techniques. Data analysis was carried out using one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The results show that: 1) The best organoleptic quality of nastar cookies with jackfruit jam filling was found in treatment A1, which used 10 grams of cassava tapai flour. This treatment received the highest average panelist scores: color 4.00, characterized by a golden yellow appearance; shape 3.87, described as a neat half-sphere; aroma 3.40, indicating a distinctive butter scent typical of nastar, a moderate cassava tapai aroma, and a fresh scent from the jackfruit-pineapple jam; taste 3.40, characterized as sweet, savory, with a hint of cassava tapai, and a sweet-sour taste from the filling; and texture 3.87, noted as soft, crumbly, and not soggy. 2) The nutritional content with protein 8.89%, carbohydrates 59.36%, fat 7.08%, ash 1.12%, and moisture content 23.50%. Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the learning outcomes through the implementation of an e-book on meat material at SMK Negeri 8 Surabaya, and (2) student responses to the implementation of the e-book on meat material at SMK Negeri 8 Surabaya. The research method used is the pre-experiment method, where students were provided with an e-book as a learning resource. Pre-tests and post-tests were conducted to measure the improvement in students' learning outcomes after using the e-book. The subject of this study is the e-book containing meat-related material, designed to make it easier for students to understand the topic being taught. The research instruments used include a test sheet to measure students' learning outcomes and a questionnaire to gather student responses to the e-book implementation. Data analysis was conducted using a quantitative approach, where the data collected was in numerical form and analyzed statistically. This aimed to determine whether the use of the meat-related e-book had a significant impact on students' learning outcomes. The results of the study showed that in the cognitive domain, there was an improvement in learning outcomes by 51.94%, but this improvement was categorized as less effective. This indicates that while the e-book contributed to the learning process, its impact on students' learning outcomes was still limited. Factors that may affect the effectiveness of the e-book implementation could be related to the quality of the content, delivery method, or other limitations that influence students' understanding. On the other hand, student responses to the implementation of the e-book on meat material showed positive results, with an average response score of 84%, which is categorized as very good. This indicates that students responded to the e-book implementation enthusiastically and positively. Although the learning outcomes were not optimal, the implementation of the e-book can be considered a good alternative in learning, with improvements that could enhance its effectiveness.

Abstract

This study was conducted at RA Al-Ghazali, which implements the use of an economic token system as a form of reward to foster discipline among children aged 4–5 years. The objectives of this study are to identify the level of discipline exhibited by children aged 4–5 years at RA Al-Ghazali, to describe the implementation of reward-giving through the economic token method in shaping discipline, and to describe the outcomes achieved after the application of this reward system. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, focusing on direct observation, documentation, and descriptive analysis of children’s behavior during daily classroom activities. The results indicate that the economic token reward system positively impacts children’s discipline. Over a two-week implementation period, a noticeable improvement in discipline was observed. In the second week, out of 13 participating children, nine showed an increase in disciplined behavior, as reflected by the number of star tokens collected. The remaining four children did not demonstrate significant improvement due to their absence for several days in the second week, which limited their opportunity to collect tokens. Despite this, the findings suggest that the token economy method effectively motivates children to display disciplined behavior. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the token economy is effective in fostering discipline among children aged 4–5 years at RA Al-Ghazali. Reward-giving through this method encourages children to comply with rules, take responsibility for tasks, and actively participate in learning activities. The study also highlights that the success of this method depends on the consistent attendance of children and the regularity of the token reward application, making proper management and monitoring essential for achieving optimal results. Therefore.

Abstract

This systematic literature review explores the transformation of risk management practices in educational institutions, tracing the shift from fragmented, siloed approaches toward integrated Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks in response to globalization, technological disruption, and increasing regulatory demands. Using the PRISMA 2020 methodology, we reviewed and synthesized findings from 10 high-quality empirical studies published between 2020 and 2024, focusing on theoretical advancements, adaptive mechanisms in volatile educational contexts, and strategies for context-specific ERM implementation. The analysis indicates that the scope of risks in education has expanded significantly beyond traditional physical safety concerns to encompass reputational, operational, and psychosocial dimensions. These emerging risks are often driven by factors such as digital inequities, organizational complexities, and evolving policy landscapes. Three critical components are identified for effective ERM in educational settings: (1) risk integration that unifies financial, operational, and reputational considerations into a cohesive portfolio; (2) adaptive feedback loops that combine prospective scenario modeling, real-time AI-enabled monitoring, and retrospective learning from past crises; and (3) contextual customization, ensuring ERM frameworks are tailored to the unique characteristics, resources, and cultural dynamics of individual institutions. The study demonstrates that merging probabilistic risk theories with regulatory compliance standards, such as ISO 31000 and COSO, strengthens institutional resilience. Moreover, it highlights the importance of shifting from blame-oriented to learning-oriented post-crisis evaluations to foster a culture of continuous improvement. The proposed ERM framework bridges financial economics, institutional theory, and practice-based approaches, offering actionable strategies including real-time digital equity monitoring, stakeholder engagement protocols, and gamified disaster preparedness initiatives.By addressing gaps in the literature, this review makes both a theoretical and practical contribution to educational risk management. It provides a roadmap for mitigating contemporary challenges, such as resource allocation disparities, resistance to cross-institutional collaborations, and the protection of vulnerable school environments, ultimately supporting more resilient and adaptive educational systems.

Abstract

Literary works are the result of thought, imagination, and reflection of the culture of a community group. Every society with a particular culture will produce literary works that contain depictions of human interactions with each other and their relationship with the surrounding environment. In this context, literary works not only serve as a form of aesthetic expression of the author regarding the reality he observes, but also become a means to convey life values. A good literary work is generally able to guide, educate, and provide enlightenment to its readers through the moral messages and truth values contained therein. In addition to its entertainment function, literary works also serve as a medium of social control conveyed in a fictional dimension. This is due to the fact that literary works are born from objective reality which is then processed through the author's imagination into a new reality full of meaning. In Indonesia, imaginative literary works are generally divided into three main forms, namely poetry, fiction or narrative prose, and drama. Drama, as a form of literary work, has its own uniqueness because it presents dialogue, plot, and characters directly, thus containing elements of beauty as well as implicit messages that are worthy of analysis. This research focuses on the analysis of the drama "Abad Tak Bermoral" by Munief Doang using a sociological approach to literature. This approach was chosen because it can reveal the relationship between literary works and the socio-cultural realities that underlie them. Through this analysis, the author attempts to identify the life values, social critique, and cultural portraits implied in the work. Thus, this drama is viewed not only as an aesthetic work of art but also as a social document reflecting the author's perspective on the dynamics of social life in his time.

Abstract

The study was conducted based on the observation that many students face challenges in pronouncing English words correctly, which hindered their speaking fluency and lowered their self-confidence in English communication. The study sought to identify specific pronunciation problems and explore the underlying causes of those difficulties. This research method used a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of this this study were by tenth-grade students of SMK Sore Tulungagung in the 2024/2025 academic year with a total of 10 students. The data were collected through classroom observation, open-ended questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed four major categories of pronunciation difficulties : phonetic differences (90%), lack of opportunity to practice (70%), low self-confidence (60%), and an unsupportive classroom atmosphere (40%). Data were analyzed through three steps : data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing, where the researcher interpreted the findings. It is suggested that teacher should incorporate pronunciation-focused strategies such as modeling, repetition drills, and immediate corrective feedback. Students are encouraged to actively practice pronunciation both inside and outside the classroom. For further studies may explore ppronunciation challenges in larger or more diverse student populations the effectiveness of specific intervention techniques such as mobile-assisted pronounciation tools. In addition, the study emphasizes the importance of creating a more supportive and interactive learning environment that fosters student confidence in speaking. Teachers can play a crucial role in reducing anxiety by providing a safe space for students to practice without fear of judgment. Collaborative activities such as peer-to-peer pronunciation exercises and pronunciation games could also help students gain more exposure to correct pronunciation in a less formal setting. Furthermore, integrating technology such as pronunciation apps or online platforms may allow students to practice at their own pace, enhancing their learning experience and improving their confidence in speaking English.
