Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine the improvement of the quality of napier grass silage (pennisetum purpureum) by using Probiotic Local Miroorganism (MOL) banana stems on moisture content, ash content, protein, fat and crude fiber. Method: This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Laboratory, Abulyatama University, Aceh Besar Regency. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD) one-way pattern with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (Napier grass without mole (control)), P1 (Napier grass treated with mole with a concentration of 1 ml), P2 (Napier grass treated with mole with a concentration of 2 ml) and P3 (Napier grass treated with mole with a concentration of 3 ml). Results: The results showed that the addition of 2 ml MOL in napier grass silage could reduce the water content to 67.08%, while the protein content increased to 12.43% with the addition of 3 ml MOL. The addition of probiotics in napier grass silage had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on crude fiber, protein and moisture content. While the addition of MOL in silage had no significant effect (P>0.05) on fat content and ash content. Novelty: This research demonstrates an innovation in improving the quality of elephant grass silage by utilizing local probiotic microorganisms (ML) from banana stems, a previously unused approach. The novelty lies in the use of MOL from banana stems as a silage fermentation additive, which has been shown to significantly increase protein content and reduce moisture content, as well as positively impact crude fiber.

Abstract

Objective: This study investigates the association between autoimmune thyroid diseases—specifically Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and Graves' disease (GD)—and the development of thyroid cancer, with a primary focus on papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Method: A comprehensive literature review was conducted to analyze epidemiological trends, immunopathological mechanisms, and tumor microenvironment factors linking autoimmunity to thyroid carcinogenesis. Results: The findings indicate a significant correlation between autoimmune thyroid disorders and increased incidence of PTC, suggesting that chronic inflammation may contribute to oncogenic genetic alterations in thyroid epithelial cells. Interestingly, HT appears to paradoxically confer favorable clinical outcomes, including reduced tumor aggressiveness, enhanced responsiveness to radioiodine therapy, and improved survival, likely due to heightened immune surveillance. Additionally, the presence of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) was associated with increased lymph node metastasis, highlighting their role in shaping a pro-tumorigenic microenvironment. Novelty: This study provides integrative insights into the dual role of autoimmunity in both promoting and modulating thyroid cancer progression, and underscores the importance of the tumor microenvironment—particularly CAFs—in influencing metastatic behavior in PTC.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to investigate the potential of Allium sativum (garlic) as an alternative antibacterial agent in the context of rising antibiotic resistance. Method: A comprehensive literature review was conducted, focusing on in vitro and in vivo studies that evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of Allium sativum against multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial strains. Sources included peer-reviewed journals in microbiology, pharmacology, and ethnomedicine. Results: The analysis reveals that Allium sativum exhibits broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, particularly effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative MDR bacteria. Its bioactive compounds, such as allicin, disrupt bacterial cell walls, inhibit enzyme activity, and prevent biofilm formation. The low incidence of side effects and the affordability of garlic make it a viable candidate for complementary or integrative antimicrobial therapies. Novelty: This study highlights the relevance of traditional medicinal plants in modern antimicrobial drug discovery, emphasizing Allium sativum as a sustainable, natural, and accessible alternative in combating antibiotic-resistant infections, with implications for public health and pharmaceutical innovation.

Abstract

Objective:  Currently, Ascaris lumbricoides-induced ascariasis has become a major health burden in the world, especially in low- and middle-income nations and children blacked with such situations. Ascariasis has an impact of more than 1 billion population of the entire world which results in more than 1.3 million disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) per year, mainly because of growth retardation, malnutrition, and children with cognitive performance. Method: This review examines the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), safety, and clinical efficacy of piperazine in children with accommodation of developmental differences in physiological processes that influence the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of drugs. Results: Crucial results indicate that a higher digestive availability and quicker intestinal assimilation of piperazine is present in pediatric patients who could reach the effective therapeutic concentrations in the lumen as compared to adults. The pharmacodynamic profile is strong GABAergic effects in nematodes at low systemic exposure in children, which proves its application in the regions with a high prevalence of parasitic worm infestations, mass deworming programs, and among individuals where benzimidazoles use is contraindicated. Novelty: The potential implications of the proposed action on the pharmacology of age specificity in helminth management schemes of control is also quantified within the context of the current review and justifies sustained application of piperazine in age-specific interventions.

Abstract

Objective: The inquiry may yield evidence regarding the impact of tension force on the displacement of the neutral axis, strain, and wall thickness in rotary draw bending. Method: The finite element analysis use the ABAQUS software to evaluate the non-linear response of structures. Results: The simulation results align closely with the experimental findings, and we also compared the effects of rotary draw bending with and without axial force, as discussed in previous work without axial force. Novelty: The tube diameter, wall thickness, bending radius, material characteristics, and bending angle are the primary parameters influencing the change of neutral axis shifting and the tensile force in the tube. The neutral axis at the center of the tube shifts to the inner arc due to the additional axial force.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to find the optimal production strategy by considering these limitations. Method: Simplex method based on linear programming using LINGO software is applied to determine the best production combination. Results: The results of the analysis show that to obtain optimal profits of Rp680,963,542, the company needs to produce 14,815 m² of 60×60 granite, 21,297 m² of 60×60 ceramic, and 8,334 m² of 60×120 ceramic. This figure is 3% higher or equivalent to IDR 21,103,292 compared to the initial profit of IDR 659,860,250. Sensitivity analysis shows that all selected production variables have a reduced cost of zero, indicating that production conditions are optimal. A price change to the lower bound could potentially decrease revenue by 5% to Rp625,515,731, while an increase in price to the upper bound could increase revenue by 13% to Rp745,599,549. This result shows that there is flexibility in adjusting prices to maximize profits. Novelty: The problem of optimization in achieving maximum profit due to limited machine capacity and production targets is a challenge for ceramic companies.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to comprehensively review the role of obedience and gratitude in improving the psychological well-being of non-civil servant early childhood education (PAUD) teachers, particularly in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Early childhood education (PAUD) teachers face significant challenges related to financial well-being, employment status, and high workloads, which have the potential to cause stress and reduce psychological well-being. Method: Through a literature review, this study found that obedience based on self-awareness, religious values, and moral responsibility can provide a sense of security, order, and satisfaction in carrying out tasks. Results: Meanwhile, gratitude has been shown to play a significant role in fostering positive emotions, reducing stress, strengthening social relationships, and helping teachers interpret limitations as a form of devotion. In the context of Islamic boarding school culture, the value of obedience reflected in the philosophy of "Bhuppa' Bhâbbhu' Ghuru Rato" and gratitude rooted in religious teachings strengthen teachers' resilience to remain dedicated. Thus, it can be concluded that obedience and gratitude are important psychological factors that complement each other in maintaining the psychological well-being of PAUD teachers. Novelty: These findings have practical implications for schools, Islamic boarding school foundations, and the government in formulating development strategies and policies that support the welfare of non-civil servant PAUD teachers more comprehensively.
