Abstract

Moral decadence among adolescents, the weak internalization of Pancasila values, and students’ low awareness in embodying Islamic character values constitute serious challenges for multiple stakeholders. This community engagement initiative aims to analyze and strengthen the role of teachers as facilitators in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), particularly in supporting the construction and internalization of the Trilogy and the Five Awareness Principles of Santri at SMA Nurul Jadid Paiton, Probolinggo. The activities were designed as a form of service, training, and mentoring for teachers in managing P5 activities integrated with Islamic character education values. The study employed a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and the school principal as primary participants. The findings suggest that teachers play a pivotal role in designing, facilitating, and evaluating P5 projects that are grounded in local values and enriched with spiritual dimensions. Teachers act as agents of change by guiding students to understand and internalize the values of the Trilogy and the Five Awareness Principles of Santri through collaborative, contextual, and meaningful project-based learning. The implication is that enhancing teachers’ capacity through continuous training and institutional support becomes a key determinant of the successful implementation of P5 in strengthening character education based on Islamic values. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah menganalisis dan menguatkan peran guru sebagai fasilitator dalam implementasi Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5), khususnya dalam mendukung konstruksi dan internalisasi karakter Trilogi dan Panca Kesadaran Santri di SMA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. Kegiatan dirancang sebagai bentuk pelayanan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan terhadap guru dalam mengelola kegiatan P5 yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah community-based participatory research (CBPR). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawan-cara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan guru, siswa, serta kepala se-kolah sebagai partisipan utama. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru berperan strategis dalam merancang, memfasilitasi, dan mengevaluasi projek P5 yang berbasis nilai lokal dan bernuansa spiritual. Guru berfungsi sebagai agen perubahan dalam membimbing siswa me-mahami serta menginternalisasi nilai Trilogi dan Panca Kesadaran Santri melalui pembela-jaran berbasis projek yang kolaboratif, kontekstual, dan bermakna. Implikasinya, peningkatan kapasitas guru melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan dan dukungan kelembagaan menjadi kunci keberhasilan implementasi P5 dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai Islam. Abstract

Food security is a strategic issue in sustainable rural development. Cakru Village, Kencong District, Jember Regency, has abundant corn production, yet its utilization is largely limited to fresh consumption and animal feed, resulting in low value added and limited food diversification. This community service program aimed to enhance residents’ skills in processing corn into corn nuggets, a nutritious, marketable local food innovation. Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the program involved stages of discovery, dream, design, and destiny. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills in processing corn into nuggets, as indicated by increased pre-test and post-test scores and the ability to independently carry out the production process in accordance with procedural and hygienic standards. Participants also applied simple marketing strategies, including product packaging, pricing, and marketing simulations. In addition, the establishment of a corn-based joint business group supported program sustainability and showed potential to strengthen food security and increase the value added of local corn. Desa Cakru, Kecamatan Kencong, Kabupaten Jember, memiliki potensi produksi jagung yang melimpah, namun pemanfaatannya masih terbatas pada konsumsi segar dan pakan ternak, sehingga nilai tambah dan diversifikasi pangan lokal belum optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan warga dalam mengolah jagung menjadi nugget jagung sebagai inovasi pangan lokal yang bergizi dan bernilai jual. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) yang meliputi tahapan discovery, dream, design, dan destiny. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam pengolahan jagung menjadi nugget, yang ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan skor pre-test dan post-test serta kemampuan mempraktikkan proses produksi secara mandiri sesuai prosedur dan prinsip higienitas. Peserta juga mampu menerapkan strategi pemasaran sederhana melalui penentuan kemasan, harga jual, dan simulasi pemasaran. Selain itu, terbentuk kelompok usaha bersama berbasis olahan jagung sebagai upaya keberlanjutan program, yang berpotensi memperkuat ketahanan pangan dan meningkatkan nilai tambah jagung lokal. Abstract

One of the main problems in Bataan Village, Bondowoso Regency, is an inadequate waste management system due to the absence of easily accessible temporary waste disposal facilities and limited waste collection services. This condition encourages some residents to dispose of waste into rivers or burn it openly, resulting in environmental pollution. This activity aims to: (1) provide a more controlled and efficient waste management alternative compared to open burning, (2) enhance community understanding and participation in waste management, and (3) examine the effectiveness of simple technology in reducing smoke pollution. The method employed was Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving the community in problem identification, planning, and implementation, as well as evaluation. The results of the community service program indicate the successful construction of a simple incinerator made from used drums with a capacity of approximately 200 kg per cycle. Based on visual observations, the device significantly reduced smoke intensity compared to conventional burning practices. Socialization and demonstration activities also increased community participation, as reflected in the regular use of the incinerator and a reduction in waste volume around the installation site. Keywords: Low-Smoke Incinerator, Waste Management, Rural Community Salah satu permasalahan di Desa Bataan, Kabupaten Bondowoso, adalah sistem pengelolaan sampah yang belum memadai akibat ketiadaan Tempat Pembuangan Sampah Sementara (TPSS) yang mudah dijangkau dan terbatasnya layanan pengangkutan sampah. Kondisi ini mendorong sebagian masyarakat membuang sampah ke sungai atau membakarnya secara terbuka, sehingga menimbulkan polusi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah: (1) menyediakan alternatif pengelolaan sampah yang lebih terkontrol dan efisien dibandingkan pembakaran terbuka, (2) meningkatkan pemahaman dan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah, dan (3) menguji efektivitas teknologi sederhana dalam menekan polusi asap. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif sejak tahap identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan keberhasilan pembuatan incinerator sederhana berbahan drum bekas dengan kapasitas sekitar 200 kg per siklus. Berdasarkan pengamatan visual, alat ini mampu menurunkan intensitas asap secara signifikan dibandingkan pembakaran konvensional. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan demonstrasi penggunaan incinerator juga meningkatkan partisipasi warga, yang ditunjukkan oleh pemanfaatan alat secara berkala serta berkurangnya volume sampah di sekitar lokasi penempatan. Abstract

One of the main agricultural products in Ampel Village, Wuluhan Subdistrict, Jember Regency, is maize; therefore, corn cobs are abundantly available. This condition indicates strong potential for developing environmentally friendly, high-value charcoal briquettes. This community service program aims to enhance farmers’ skills in producing corn cob briquettes independently, provide affordable, environmentally friendly alternative energy sources, improve understanding of innovative packaging to increase product value, and create new business opportunities based on local agricultural waste. This program employs an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, focusing on the utilization of local assets and potentials in Ampel Village. The corn cob briquette training improved farmers’ knowledge and skills in processing agricultural waste into high-quality briquettes with innovative packaging. The program opens new business opportunities, reduces dependence on conventional fuels such as LPG or kerosene, and supports sustainable development, although it still faces challenges related to seasonal raw material availability, product quality, and market access. Realitas ini membuat menunjukkan potensi besar dalam pengembangan arang briket yang ramah lingkungan dan bernilai guna tinggi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan petani dalam memproduksi briket bonggol jagung secara mandiri, menyediakan alternatif energi murah dan ramah lingkungan, meningkatkan pemahaman tentang kemasan inovatif untuk nilai jual, serta membuka peluang usaha baru berbasis limbah pertanian lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) yang berfokus pada pemanfaatan asset dan potensi masyarakat Desa Ampel. Pelatihan briket janggel jagung di Desa Ampel meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan petani dalam mengolah limbah menjadi briket berkualitas dengan kemasan inovatif. Program ini membuka peluang usaha, mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap bahan bakar konvensional seperti LPG atau minyak, dan mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan, meski masih menghadapi tantangan bahan baku musiman, kualitas produk, dan akses pasar. Abstract

The phenomenon of the adhan being recited before the prescribed prayer time still frequently occurs in several rural areas due to limited access to accurate prayer time information. Field observations indicate that this problem is primarily caused by the absence of a Prayer Time Display (PTD) in local mosques. This condition leads to a lack of punctuality in the performance of congregational prayers and other religious activities within the mosque environment. This community service activity aims to design and install a digital Prayer Time Display (PTD) that meets community needs while balancing cost efficiency and device durability. The processes of design, installation, and configuration were carried out in a participatory manner with mosque congregants to ensure their capacity for independent operation and maintenance. The program's effectiveness was evaluated through interviews with the muezzin and mosque congregants to assess the accuracy of adhan timing and the ease of use of the device. The results show that implementing the digital PTD reduced the deviation in adhan timing from approximately ±5–10 minutes prior to installation to ±1–2 minutes afterwards. Consequently, the adhan schedule became more accurate and consistent. Based on interview findings, the muezzin stated that the availability of prayer time notifications and configurable iqamah intervals facilitated the performance of the adhan and improved the overall organization of worship activities in the mosque. Keywords: Prayer Time Display, Mosque Digitalization, Adhan Time Accuracy, Appropriate Technology, Rural Communities Abstrak: Fenomena azan yang dikumandangkan sebelum waktunya masih kerap terjadi di beberapa wilayah pedesaan akibat keterbatasan akses terhadap informasi waktu salat yang akurat. Berdasarkan hasil observasi lapangan, permasalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh ketiadaan Jam Waktu Salat (JWS) di masjid setempat. Kondisi ini berdampak pada kurangnya ketepatan pelaksanaan ibadah berjamaah serta aktivitas keagamaan lainnya di lingkungan masjid. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan memasang Jam Waktu Salat (JWS) digital yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat dengan tetap memperhatikan aspek ekonomis dan daya tahan perangkat. Proses perancangan, pemasangan, dan konfigurasi JWS dilakukan secara partisipatif bersama jamaah masjid agar mereka memiliki kemampuan untuk melakukan pemeliharaan secara mandiri. Evaluasi keberhasilan kegiatan dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan muazin dan jamaah masjid untuk menilai tingkat ketepatan waktu azan serta kemudahan penggunaan perangkat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan JWS digital mampu menurunkan selisih waktu azan dari kisaran ±5–10 menit sebelum penerapan menjadi sekitar ±1–2 menit setelah penerapan. Dengan demikian, waktu azan menjadi lebih akurat dan konsisten. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, muazin menyatakan bahwa keberadaan notifikasi waktu salat dan pengaturan jeda iqamah mempermudah pelaksanaan azan serta meningkatkan keteraturan kegiatan ibadah di masjid. Abstract

The phenomenon of increasing intolerance, exclusivism, and radicalism among youth has become a serious concern. Surveys indicate that educational institutions are not entirely free from radical ideologies. Education should not only transfer knowledge but also shape attitudes, values, and national character through educational and dialogical approaches. The community service employed a qualitative CBPR-PAR approach with active community participation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and then analysed thematically, with triangulation and member checking to ensure validity. The program aimed to strengthen religious moderation among high school students through educational and dialogical methods, enhancing moderate religious literacy, critical awareness of radicalism, and fostering inclusive attitudes. Results showed that the religious moderation intervention increased students’ attitudes by over 30% across nationalism, tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation of local culture. Dialogical, observational, and reflective approaches promoted empathy, respect for differences, and internalization of diversity. Religious moderation operates simultaneously at cognitive, affective, and social levels, serving as an initial catalyst for inclusive values in students’ daily lives. This service's contribution strengthens religious moderation literacy among high school students, demonstrating the effectiveness of educational-dialogical approaches in shaping inclusive, tolerant attitudes and an appreciation of cultural diversity. Survei menunjukkan lembaga pendidikan belum sepenuhnya bebas dari pengaruh paham radikal. Pendidikan perlu berperan tidak hanya mentransfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga membentuk sikap, nilai, dan karakter kebangsaan melalui pendekatan edukatif dan dialogis. Pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif CBPR-PAR dengan partisipasi aktif masyarakat. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan kuesioner, dianalisis tematik, triangulasi, dan member checking untuk validitas. Kegiatan bertujuan memperkuat moderasi beragama peserta didik SMA melalui pendekatan edukatif dan dialogis, meningkatkan literasi keagamaan moderat, kesadaran kritis terhadap radikalisme, serta menumbuhkan sikap inklusif. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa Intervensi moderasi beragama meningkatkan sikap peserta didik >30% pada nasionalisme, toleransi, anti-kekerasan, dan apresiasi budaya lokal. Pendekatan dialogis, observasional, dan reflektif mendorong empati, penghargaan perbedaan, dan internalisasi keragaman. Moderasi beragama bekerja pada level kognitif, afektif, dan sosial, menjadi pemantik awal nilai inklusif dalam kehidupan peserta. Konstribusi pengabdian ini memperkuat literasi moderasi beragama di kalangan peserta didik SMA, menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan edukatif-dialogis dalam membentuk sikap inklusif, toleran, dan penghargaan terhadap keragaman budaya. Abstract

This community service was conducted using qualitative methods, including observations and interviews, within community service-based learning (service learning), which integrated community service activities with reflective learning throughout the mentoring process. The training materials focused on strengthening institutional identity, utilizing social media as a means of public communication, developing educational promotional content, and applying Islamic ethical values in madrasah branding activities. The results of the community service activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and skills in managing madrasahs' images in a more planned and sustainable manner. Partner madrasahs began implementing more consistent digital communication strategies, improving the quality of published content, and paying attention to the principles of honesty, politeness, and responsibility in conveying information to the public. The initial implications of this activity are seen in the increased visibility of madrasahs in digital media and the strengthening of madrasahs' image as professional and ethical Islamic educational institutions.Keywords: Branding Strategy, Digitalisation, Islamic Ethics, Service Learning. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui observasi dan wawancara dalam kerangka pembelajaran berbasis pengabdian kepada masyarakat (service learning) yang mengintegrasikan kegiatan pengabdian dengan proses pembelajaran reflektif selama proses pendampingan berlangsung. Materi pelatihan difokuskan pada penguatan identitas kelembagaan, pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana komunikasi publik, pengembangan konten promosi pendidikan, serta penerapan nilai-nilai etika Islam dalam kegiatan branding madrasah. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam mengelola citra madrasah secara lebih terencana dan berkelanjutan. Madrasah mitra mulai menerapkan strategi komunikasi digital yang lebih konsisten, meningkatkan kualitas konten yang dipublikasikan, serta memperhatikan prinsip kejujuran, kesantunan, dan tanggung jawab dalam menyampaikan informasi kepada masyarakat. Implikasi awal dari kegiatan ini terlihat pada meningkatnya visibilitas madrasah di media digital serta semakin kuatnya citra madrasah sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang profesional dan beretika.Kata kunci: Strategi Branding, Digitalisasi, Etika Islam, Service Learning.
