Kalimatuna: Journal of Arabic Research is a forum for Arabic education researchers, intellectuals, and practitioners to publish and disseminate their original research and studies. The journal is published online by the Department of Arabic Education (PBA) of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK), UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in partnership with PP-PBA (Association of Arabic Education Departments), PPJKBA Indonesia (Association of Arabic Journal Managers), and IMLA (Arabic Teachers Association of Indonesia). The primary scope and focus of the journal include: Alquran and Arabic language; Arabic linguistics studies in micro and macro terms; Balagah or Arabic stylistic; Language acquisitions of Arabic language; Pedagogical Arabic instructional as a foreign language and for non-native speaker; Policies on Arabic teaching. Kalimatuna: Journal of Arabic Research is published twice a year. Editors welcome scholars, researchers and practitioners of Arabic Education to submit scholarly articles to be published through this journal. All articles will be reviewed by experts before accepted for publication.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the style of language of the principles of da'wah in Surah An-Nahl verse 125, the concept of religious moderation according to the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia and how the two are related. The results of this study concludes that there are three interrelationships, namely 1. The principle of Wisdom (al-Hikmah) gives birth to a reflection language style (Istifham) and realizes the value of tolerance (at-Tasamuh); 2. The principle of good advice (al-Mau'idzhah al-Hasanah) gives birth to a dialogue style (Hiwar) and realizes democratic values (asy-Syuuroo); 3 Principles of Plenary Argument (al-Mujadalah bi al-Husna) gives birth to an analogy language style (Amtsal) and realized the value of proportion (al-I'tidal).

Abstract

This study seeks to show students' abilities after utilizing the cartoon film medium to improve their dialogue skills in 10th grade students at Bekasi First Governmental Islamic High School, as well as to compare the results of the cartoon film media to the traditional technique. This study employs experimental research with a quantitative methodology, as well as the creation of a real-world experiment (one group, pre-test and post-test). The effectiveness of students' acquisition of dialogue skills development, understanding the content of dialogues, and learning outcomes in dialogue skill appeared after utilizing the cartoon video at a school. There is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test, indicating that using the cartoon film method to teach conversation to pupils is quite effective.

Abstract

This study begins with a shortage of learning methods and media used by teachers in the classroom. The goal of this study is to uncover teaching and learning procedures, as well as students' abilities before and after utilizing domino games, in order to determine the efficacy of learning vocabulary through domino games. The researchers utilized a quantitative technique and an experimental research strategy. A total of 55 pupils were included in the study. The Random Sampling Method was used for sampling. The researcher employed observation, interviews, written tests, and documentation to collect data. The T-test formula was employed to analyze the research data. The researchers found that the use of domino games in vocabulary learning in Islamic boarding schools was appropriate and successful based on the findings of this study.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the forms of linguistic errors in Arabic Book published by Tiga Serangkai in terms of graphology, syntax and morphology errors. Researchers used qualitative research method, with the techniques to collect data are observation and interview, and the data analysis techniqe is content analysis. This research found some errors in terms of syntax such as “marfuat, mansubat,  majrurat”, incompatibilities between “mubtada” and “khabar”, “fiil” and “fa'il”, “ism isyarah” and “musyar ilaih” and errors in “idhafah”. Some errors in terms of morphology such as in “wazn fiil” and “wazn ism”. In terms of graphology such as errors in writing “hamzah qatha”, changing letters, deleting letters, and adding letters. After conducting the research, it has found that errors in this book occurred because the author of the book had not read the book contents in detail, lack of supervision from the editor, and the limitation of time.

Abstract

Researchers found obstacles in the vocabulary teaching process, including not using effective learning strategies and models in learning Arabic vocabulary. This study aims to reveal vocabulary learning procedures and the effectiveness of the make-a-match model in vocabulary teaching. This research used a quantitative approach and quasi-experimental methods with a non-equivalent group design model. The sample from this study was comprised of 22 students in grade 5A, Nurul Huda Sampora, as an experimental group, and 22 students in grade 5B, as a control group. The data collection techniques used are direct observation, personal interviews, pre-test and post-test, as well as documentation. Researchers used the T test formula in analyzing the data. Researchers concluded that the make a match model in the teaching of Arabic vocabulary is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the form of phonological interference of Indonesian to Arabic and the magnitude of frequency of phonemes that experience said phonological interference in the reading of Surah al-Fātiḥah by non-Islamic boarding school students (Pesantren) of the Arabic Studies Program at the University of Indonesia. The research methodology that was used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The primary data of this study came from questionnaires and respondent interviews while the secondary data came from library research such as books and literature that is related to the topics in question.  The results of this study indicate that there are several sound deviations made by the respondents; there is one vocalist interference in the vowel, and there are 12 phonological interferences in consonants. The highest frequency of consonant interference is in consonant ح/ħ/ by 11.60%, and the lowest at consonant ء/?/ by 0.44%.

Abstract

This article aims to explain the similarities and differences between Arabic and Indonesian consonant letters, as well as the steps in teaching them. This research uses contrastive analysis, which compares two languages to find out the similarities and differences between the two languages. This research reveals that there are similarities and differences between consonants in Arabic and consonants in Indonesian. The similarities of consonants in Arabic and Indonesian are divided into 2 parts, namely Al Aswat Al Mutamatsilah (exactly the same) and Al Aswat Al Mutasyabihah (similar). In Al Aswat Al Mutamatsilah, consonants in Arabic and Indonesian have similarities both in makhraj, properties and pronunciation. The consonant letters included in Al Aswat Al Mutamatsilah are B and ب, M and م, W and و, F and ف. J and ج, K and ك, R and ر, Z and ز, S and س, H and ه. Meanwhile, in Al Aswat Al Mutasyabihah, consonants in Arabic and Indonesian have one of the differences both in terms of makhraj and nature. The consonant letters that include Al Aswat Al Mutasyabihah are T and ت, D and د, N and ن, L and ل, Y and ي, G and غ, H and ح, K and خ, K and ق, S and ش, S and ث, Z and ذ, S and ص. The consonant differences in Arabic and Indonesian are divided into 3 parts, namely Al Aswat Al Mutakholifah, namely ض and D, ظ and D, ظ and z, ط and T, خ and H. The letters in Arabic that have no equivalent in Indonesian are ث، ح، خ، ذ، ش، ص، ض، ط، ظ، ع، غ، ق. The letters in Indonesian that have no equivalent in Arabic are P, C, Ny, Ng, shawamit tsanaiyah, shawamit tsalatsiyah. In this difference, consonant letters in Arabic and Indonesian have differences in terms of makhraj and properties. Based on this comparison, the teaching of Arabic consonant letters for Indonesian students starts from letters that have similarities and proceeds to letters that have differences.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to detect the impact of the use of Google Classroom on the results of learning students’ substantive reading skills at this school, and to analyse the supporting and inhibiting factors in its use. After the researcher's pretest and postest of the students, received the pretest with the largest results 65 and the smallest results 40 and the average 50.  And posttest got the biggest results 80 and the smallest results 55 and average 68 and  got N-gain 0,6 at the good grade level. The researcher analyzed the data by law (T-test) with the help of SPSS 21 obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) 0,000 below 0,05 the alternative hypothesis H_a accepted the original hypothesis H_0 rejected. The conclusion of this research is that the teaching process using Google Classroom for students in this school has a statistically significant effect on the results of learning the reading skill.

Abstract

This study discusses the management of the implementation of the Arabic language course program which was carried out intensively at the Markaz al-Lughah al-Arabiyah (MLA) Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Madura. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. Data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument consisted of the researchers themselves, interview sheets, observation guidelines, recording devices, and writing instruments. Data analysis in this study was carried out by interactive qualitative analysis consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that: The management of the implementation of the Arabic language course at MLA based on bi'ah lughawiyah consists of learning achievement targets, teaching systems, compacting activities, class classification, textbooks, and daily evaluations. The results of this study indicate that the compulsory environmental management-based language course makes it easier for students to master the language well and quickly.

Abstract

The researcher chose this topic because teaching speaking skill has problems, including: Students' lack of inclination to speak Arabic, not using the medium to teach speaking skill, the lack of students' interaction in teaching Arabic and the lack of students' motivation to speak. The purposes of this research are: (1) To know use of  flash card media in speaking skil learning at Al-Ihsan Islamic middle school Jakarta, (2) to know is the student ability of using the flash card media in speaking skil learning at Al-Ihsan Islamic middle school Jakarta (3) To know how far is the effectiveness of using the flash card media in speaking skil learning at Al-Ihsan Islamic middle school Jakarta. This research is a quantitative research, with an experimental method that uses the type of one group pretest posttest design. While the method of data collections were using observation, interviews, oral test and documentation. After the researcher carried out the pre-test and post-test activities orally, the researcher obtained the average result, the pre-test was 63.71 and the post-test average result was 70.57 then analyzed it with the T-test and got the t-table results. (0.975) which is 1.99 while the t-count is 16.41 which is greater than the result of the t-table. And shows the comparison value that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The researcher knows that the application of flashcard media has proven its effect on speaking skills.
