Abstract

This study aims to describe the English teaching and learning process for young learners in kindergarten. It used the descriptive qualitative research method. An observation checklist and field notes were used as the instruments to collect the data. The observation covers aspects of language teaching activities such as the students’ role, the teacher’s role, classroom management strategy, approach, technique, materials, tasks, language used, teacher-student interaction, and students’ participation. This study suggested that the English teaching and learning process at Pertiwi Kindergarten can be considered sufficient. It has satisfactorily met 62% of the aspects measured. Some of the highlights of this study are that the TPR method and songs are highly recommended as teaching techniques. Moreover, understanding the characteristics of the young learners is very important for the success of the teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This study discusses the parenting of Prophet Ibrahim towards his children in the Qur'an, intending to provide explanations and examples that parents must imitate about how to nurture children today. The method used in this paper is the thematic method. In writing this research, the data collection technique that the author uses is through documents in the form of written works. This stage includes reading, understanding, and reviewing books through comments from commentators and writings related to the author's research. Because this method concerns the problem of the verses of the Quran, the verses discussed in this study are Surah Ash-Shaaffat verse 100, Surah Ibrahim verse 37, Surah al-Baqarah verse 132, surah Ibrahim verse 40, and surah Ash-Shaaffat verses 102-103. The results of this study indicate that Prophet Ibrahim's upbringing includes efforts to approach God by praying to be blessed with pious children, preparing a conducive environment, instilling monotheism in children from an early age, instilling personal piety in children, building good communication with children, as well as instilling the value of hard work. Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang pola asuh Nabi Ibrahim terhadap anaknya di dalam Al-Quran dengan tujuan memberikan penjelasan dan contoh yang dapat diteladani oleh orang tua tentang bagaimana pola asuh anak yang Islami agar dapat melahirkan generasi yang baik, mandiri, percaya diri dan berakhlakul karimah sesuai yang diajarkan Al-Quran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan analisis secara tematik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang penulis gunakan melalui dokumen dalam bentuk karya tulis. Hal ini dilakukan dengan cara membaca, memahami serta menelaah buku-buku, baik yang berupa tulisan dari para ahli tafsir maupun tulisan yang berhubungan dengan penelitian penulis. Karena metode ini menyangkut masalah ayat-ayat Al-Quran secara langsung, maka ayat-ayat yang secara khusus dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah: surah Ash-Shaaffat ayat 100, surah Ibrahim ayat 37, surah al-Baqarah ayat 132, surah Ibrahim ayat 40, surah Ash-Shaaffat ayat 102-103, dan surah al-Baqarah ayat 127. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, bahwa pola asuh Nabi Ibrahim diwarnai oleh usaha pendekatan diri kepada Allah dengan berdoa dianugerahi anak yang saleh, menyiapkan lingkungan yang kondusif, menanamkan tauhid kepada anak sejak dini, menanamkan keshalehan personal kepada anak, membangun komunikasi yang baik dengan anak, serta menanamkan nilai kerja keras.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of fine motor skills in a kindergarten in district of Pesisir Selatan, Province of West Sumatra, Indonesia, where the average age of the students is 5-6 years. By using a qualitative approach. The data collection that the researcher uses is observation, interviews, and documentation. This research showed that the teachers implemented the fine motor development strategies well. The teacher prepared plans, including compiling a semester program (PROSEM) in fine motor development. Teachers also always prepare the Daily Learning Plan Weekly Plan (RPPM) and Daily Learning Plan (RPPH) at the beginning of the school year. The method used by the teacher is also appropriate, and the media used is varied enough so that it can be interesting for kindergarten children to hone students abilities in developing fine motor skills.     Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengembangan keterampilan motorik halus di sebuah taman kanak-kanak di Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Barat, Indonesia, yang rata-rata berusia 5-6 tahun. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data yang peneliti gunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengembangan motorik halus guru dilaksanakan dengan baik. Hal ini terlihat dari perencanaan yang disusun oleh guru, diantaranya dengan menyusun Program Semester (PROSEM) bidang pengembangan motorik halus. Guru juga selalu menyiapkan Rencana Pembelajaran Harian Rencana Mingguan (RPPM) dan Rencana Pembelajaran Harian (RPPH) di awal tahun ajaran. Metode yang digunakan guru juga sudah sesuai dan media yang digunakan cukup bervariasi sehingga dapat menarik minat anak-anak untuk mengasah kemampuan dalam mengembangkan motorik halusnya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of learning media products in the form of geometric boards to develop children's cognitive abilities aged 4-5 years. Using the geometric board as media, children can easily recognize geometric shapes such as triangles, rectangles, circles, semicircles, rectangles, and parallelograms. This type of research uses an approach with a descriptive analysis model. The data analysis stage uses the Miles and Huberman model, including compaction, data presentation, and concluding. In this study, the the researcher chose to conduct research in kindergarten. The informants observed were children aged between 4 to 5 years who were in early childhood education and their parents. To check the validity of the data, using the triangulation technique. The results of the study found that using the geometry board was very helpful for parents in introducing geometry to their children. The media is made of simple materials that are easy to find, so it is not difficult to make. Children also become more interested in learning and are willing to learn various shapes of objects. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang pemanfaatan produk media pembelajaran berupa papan geometri untuk mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif anak usia 4-5 tahun. Manfaat dari penggunaan media papan geometri ini agar anak dapat mengenal bentuk-bentuk geometri seperti bentuk segitiga, segi empat, lingkaran, setengah lingkaran, persegi panjang, dan jajaran genjang. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model analisis deskriptif. Tahap analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi pemadatan data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. dalam penelitian ini peneliti memilih untuk melakukan penelitian di taman kanak-kanak. Informan yang diamati adalah anak-anak berusia antara 4 sampai 5 tahun yang berada dalam masa pendidikan anak usia dini serta orang tuanya. Untuk mengecek keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa penggunaan papan geometri sangat membantu orang tua dalam mengenalkan geometri kepada anak-anak. Media terbuat dari bahan-bahan sederhana yang mudah ditemukan sehingga tidak sulit pembuatannya.anak-anak juga menjadi lebih tertarik belajar dan memiliki kemauan untuk mempelajari ragam bentuk benda.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the occurrence of a pandemic so that children are less active and their understanding of clean and healthy living habits, especially in washing hands, has not been carried out properly. In this study using a qualitative research approach where the type of research is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this study was to find out how to inculcate clean and healthy living behavior through Hand Hygiene dance in TA Munajatul Khoir and find out teacher barriers in inculcating clean and healthy living behavior through learning Hand Hygiene dance in TA Munajatul Khoir. Data collection techniques used interview observation techniques. depth and documentation. The research subjects to be studied are parties in TA Munajatul Khoir, Kretek District, who have competence with this research, including school principals, teachers, staff and students at TA Munajatul Khoir kertek. This research uses trigulation research steps so that the research can check everything by comparing it with various sources of understanding, methods, or theories. The results showed that there were several stages in instilling clean and healthy living behavior in TA Munajatul Khoir, as well as an increase in the practice of washing hands after the children did hand hygiene dance lessons.   Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terjadinya pandemi sehingga anak kurang aktif bergerak serta pemahaman anak terhadap kebiasaan hidup bersih dan sehat khususnya dalam mencuci tangan belum terlaksana dengan baik. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dimana jenis penelitiannya adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penanaman perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat melalui  tari Hand Hygiene di TA munajatul Khoir dan mengetahui hambatan guru dalam penanaman perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat Melalui pembelajaran tari Hand Hygiene di TA munajatul Khoir.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian yang akan diteliti adalah pihak-pihak yang ada di TA Munajatul Khoir Kecamatan Kretek, yang memiliki kompetensi dengan penelitian tersebut, diantaranya adalah kepala sekolah, guru-guru, staf, dan siswa-siswa di TA munajatul Khoir kertek. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan langkah-langkah penelitian trigulasi sehingga penelitian dapat merechek semua dengan jalan membandingkan dengan berbagai sumber pemahaman metode, atau teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa tahap dalam meanamkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat di TA Munajatul Khoir, serta adanya peningkatan praktik mencuci tangan setelah anak- anak melakukan pembelajaran tari hand hygiene.

Abstract

Classroom management is part of the educator's skills in creating and regulating classroom conditions to support children's learning optimally. Classroom management is essential because it is one factor that affects the success of learning in the classroom. This study aimed to determine and describe classroom management in a kindergarten in Parepare, South Sulawesi. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study model. The data collection method uses interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the foundational management of the classroom includes (1) Classroom physical design; (2) Classroom routines; (3) Positively stated expectations. This study also reveals what steps and considerations need to be done by teachers and managers in kindergartens to implement foundational classroom management.   Abstrak Manajemen kelas merupakan bagian dari keterampilan pendidik dalam menciptakan dan mengatur kondisi kelas untuk mendukung pembelajaran anak secara optimal. Manajemen kelas sangat penting karena merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan belajar di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pengelolaan ruang kelas di sebuah taman kanak-kanak yang berlokasi di Parepare, Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan model studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan beberapa teknik: wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen dasar kelas meliputi (1) desain Fisik Kelas; (2) rutinitas kelas; (3) harapan yang dinyatakan secara positif. Studi ini juga mengungkapkan langkah-langkah dan pertimbangan apa yang perlu dilakukan oleh guru dan manajer di taman kanak-kanak untuk menerapkan manajemen kelas dasar.

Abstract

Good linguistic verbal intelligence can help children develop speaking skills in front of others. And that will undoubtedly make interacting with the people around him easy. One way to create it is by using storytelling with pictures for children. This research is a case study conducted in a kindergarten in East Java, Indonesia. Researchers collect information using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study analyzes data by reducing, presenting, and concluding. Source and method triangulation is used to verify the correctness of the data. The results of this study are: (1) Planning for learning verbal-linguistic intelligence for children through the picture story method has been carried out through the preparation of semester, weekly, and even daily learning tools. (2) Implementation of verbal-linguistic intelligence learning with the picture story method can produce experiences more binding on children's active participation in class. This method is also proven to help students develop verbal-linguistic skills through understanding stories and mastering new vocabulary. c) evaluation of learning with the picture story method through making checklists, Likert scale questionnaires, and retelling activities. These techniques can simultaneously function as an assessment or diagnostic tool for verbal-linguistic abilities in children.   Abstrak Kecerdasan verbal linguistik yang baik dapat membantu anak mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara di depan orang lain. Dan hal itu tentunya akan memudahkan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang-orang disekitarnya. Salah satu cara untuk mengembangkannya adalah dengan menggunakan metode bercerita bergambar untuk anak. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus yang dilakukan di sebuah taman kanak-kanak di Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Peneliti mengumpulkan informasi dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis data dengan cara mereduksi, menyajikan, dan menyimpulkan. Triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode digunakan untuk memverifikasi kebenaran data. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Perencanaan pembelajaran kecerdasan linguistik verbal untuk anak melalui metode cerita bergambar telah dilaksanakan melalui penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran semester, mingguan, bahkan harian. (2) Penerapan pembelajaran kecerdasan linguistik verbal dengan metode cerita bergambar dapat menghasilkan pengalaman yang lebih mengikat partisipasi aktif anak di kelas. Metode ini juga terbukti membantu siswa mengembangkan keterampilan linguistik verbal melalui pemahaman cerita dan penguasaan kosa kata baru. c) evaluasi pembelajaran dengan metode cerita bergambar melalui pembuatan daftar periksa, angket skala Likert, dan kegiatan menceritakan kembali. Teknik-teknik tersebut sekaligus dapat berfungsi sebagai asesmen atau alat diagnostik kemampuan linguistik verbal pada anak

Abstract

Development in early childhood is the most critical thing in children's future growth, and child development will also determine when children grow up. One aspect of child development that is important to develop is the cognitive aspect. An exciting method is needed to stimulate the spatial abilities as well as fine motor skills of children. One of them is a Puzzle game. Children's cognitive development can increase optimally by playing a Puzzle game tool because they have to solve puzzles from Puzzle pieces to form the appropriate image pattern. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach, descriptive type, where the goal is to observe and understand the behavior of children or groups in certain situations without being known by the child to see if there are differences in the optimization of cognitive development between each child. Based on the results of research that has been done, Puzzle educational games can stimulate early childhood cognitive development. It is shown by the fact that most of the children observed could put the Puzzle pieces back together into a suitable shape. They can also coordinate eyes and hands in the process of joining Puzzle parts and identifying geometric shapes well.   Abstrak Perkembangan pada masa anak-anak adalah hal yang paling penting pada pertumbuhan anak di masa mendatang, perkembangan anak juga akan menentukan saat anak beranjak dewasa. Salah satu aspek dalam perkembangan anak yang penting untuk dikembangkan ialah aspek kognitif. Untuk mengembangkannya diperlukan metode yang menarik dan mampu merangsang kemampuan spasial sekaligus keterampilan motorik anak dengan baik. Salah satunya ialah dengan permainan papan Puzzle. Dengan memainkan alat permainan Puzzle perkembangan kognitif anak dapat bertambah optimal, karena harus memecahkan masalah dari potongan-potongan Puzzle agar membentuk pola gambar yang sesuai. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis deskriptif, di mana tujuannya ialah untuk mengamati dan memahami perilaku anak atau kelompok dalam situasi tertentu, tanpa diketahui oleh anak agar dapat melihat apakah ada perbedaan optimalisasi perkembangan kognitif antara masing-masing anak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, bahwa permainan edukatif Puzzle mampu merangsang perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan fakta bahwa sebagian besar dari anak-anak yang diamati mampu menyatukan kembali potongan-potongan Puzzle tersebut menjadi bentuk yang sesuai. Mereka juga mampu mengkoordinasikan mata dan tangan dalam proses penyatuan bagian-bagian Puzzle serta mengidentifikasi bentuk geometri dengan baik.

Abstract

This study analyzes the storytelling method's implementation in children's expressive language. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the steps proposed by Milles & Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research are 1) the teacher implements the storytelling method following the stages of the lesson plan that has been prepared previously with storytelling techniques adapted to the story conveyed 2) The development of children's expressive language has increased.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the case has not developed the ability of early childhood problem solving, one of which occurred in a group in a kindergarten in Bandung. This is shown when the teacher asks students to perform and imitate a simple experiment in science learning, the average student directly asks for help to the teacher and does not try to think to solve the problem he faces. Therefore, the researchers tested the demonstration method in science learning on the ability of early childhood problem solving.The purpose of this study to determine: 1) the ability of problem solving in science learning by using the demonstration method. 2) the ability of problem solving in science learning by using exploration methods. 3) differences in problem solving skills in science learning between using demonstration methods by using environmental exploration methods in early childhood. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental method, with the subject of this study consists of two classes of experimental class amounted to 12 students and control class amounted to 12 students. Data collection techniques using observation sheets and documentation. Based on the results of data analysis showed that the average value (mean) of experimental class using the demonstration method is 25.75, while the average value (mean) of control class using environmental exploration method is 25.17. In other words, the average value of the experimental class is greater than the average value of the control class. So it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, which means Ha : ?_a ?_b: there is a difference in the ability of problem solving in science learning between those who use the demonstration method and those who use the method of environmental exploration in early childhood. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kasus belum berkembangnya kemampuan problem solving anak usia dini yang salah satunya terjadi pada sebuah kelompok di suatu taman kanak-kanak di Kota Bandung. Hal ini ditunjukkan ketika guru meminta siswa untuk melakukan dan menirukan sebuah percobaan sederhana pada pembelajaran sains, rata-rata siswa langsung meminta bantuan kepada guru dan tidak berusaha berpikir untuk memecahkan masalah yang dihadapinya. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti menguji cobakan metode demonstrasi pada pembelajaran sains terhadap kemampuan problem solving anak usia dini.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: 1) Kemampuan problem solving pada pembelajaran sains dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi. 2) Kemampuan problem solving pada pembelajaran sains dengan menggunakan metode eksplorasi. 3) Perbedaan kemampuan problem solving pada pembelajaran sains antara yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi dengan menggunakan metode eksplorasi lingkungan pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yakni kelas eksperimen berjumlah 12 siswa dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 12 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata (mean) kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi yaitu 25,75, sedangkan nilai rata-rata (mean) kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode eksplorasi lingkungan yaitu 25,17. Dengan kata lain, nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak yang berarti Ha : : Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan problem solving pada pembelajaran sains antara yang menggunakan metode demonstrasi dengan yang menggunakan metode eksplorasi lingkungan pada anak usia dini.
