Abstract

This study examines the influence of product quality and price on consumer purchase interest at Nay Kids Store in Banjarmasin. The population in this study consists of 206 consumers, and using the Slovin formula, a sample of 67 consumers who made bulk purchases of clothing was obtained. Quantitative analysis was conducted, including validity and reliability tests on the research instruments, as well as hypothesis testing through classical assumption tests, F-test, t-test, partial correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicate that both product quality and price simultaneously affect purchase intention. Specifically, product quality  and price also show significant partial effects on purchase intention. Additionally, product quality has the strongest influence, with the highest partial correlation coefficient. These findings highlight the importance of product quality as the most dominant factor in influencing consumer purchase intention, providing valuable insights for retailers who aim to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of understanding how leadership based on blood type operates in Sharia banking in the Riau Archipelago. The sample for this study consisted of 12 middle management leaders in Sharia banking in the Riau Archipelago, specifically in the cities of Tanjung Pinang and Batam. The Sharia banking in the Riau Island include BTN Syariah, Bank Riau Kepri Syariah in Batam, and Sharia Banking Indonesia in Tanjung Pinang. The results of the interviews and questionnaires showed that the majority of the samples had blood type O, with six people, while the leadership style at the middle management level was authority compliance management, which prioritizes results or product concentration over people/employees. This is because the leaders believe that when the results are good, the employees' welfare will automatically be good. The most suitable leadership style, after being analyzed based on blood type, is blood type A. Therefore, the research recommendation is that when there is a promotion from staff to middle management level, top management should consider blood type when appointing middle management positions.

Abstract

Corruption poses significant challenges in Indonesia, impacting economic, social, and political dimensions. This study investigates behavioral and cultural determinants of corruption through a systematic literature review, focusing on recent empirical studies and theoretical frameworks. Key findings reveal that institutional weaknesses, cultural norms, and individual greed are critical drivers of corruption. Institutional flaws, such as ineffective regulatory mechanisms and convoluted bureaucratic processes, exacerbate opportunities for corrupt practices. Meanwhile, cultural norms that tolerate bribery and gift-giving further entrench corruption within society. The research underscores the importance of good governance, including transparency and accountability, as well as cultural transformations through education and public awareness campaigns. By offering evidence-based insights, this study contributes to the development of anti-corruption strategies that address both structural and cultural dimensions, providing a foundation for policy-making and societal change. The findings also highlight the necessity of reforms that integrate behavioral understanding with institutional improvements to foster sustainable anti-corruption efforts.

Abstract

Law Number 8 of 1999 addressing Consumer Protection is specifically delineated through Government Regulation (PP) Number 71 of 2019, which pertains to the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions. Conventional business transaction modalities are categorized as electronic transactions, which are defined as legal actions executed via computers, computer networks, and/or alternative electronic media. The transactional framework facilitated by internet technology renders numerous advantages, both for vendors and consumers, as this system possesses inherent benefits that provide enhanced convenience, rapidity, and efficiency. Consequently, it is not unexpected that the current proliferation of internet utilization grounded in electronic commerce (commonly denoted as e-commerce) is experiencing swift growth, notably within the Indonesian context. This advancement simplifies the process for individuals and enterprises to engage in a diverse array of business transactions, particularly in the realm of trade.

Abstract

The government's policy to implement the downstreaming of energy and raw materials from mining is not merely a fabrication. The government is progressively and sustainably enforcing the policy to cease the export of mineral resources, including nickel, tin, alumina, and bauxite. In 2022, Indonesia's export value in the mining sector and other sectors amounted to US$ 64.919 billion, reflecting a 71.22 percent rise compared to 2021, demonstrating the effectiveness of the nickel ore export ban policy enacted in 2020. The recent downstreaming, particularly in mining and the establishment of processing facilities, has prompted increased investor interest. The shares of mining industry companies are expected to exhibit long-term financial improvement. This study employs a quantitative research design to ascertain the impact of profitability, solvency, and cash flow variables on the energy and basic materials sector within companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the periods of 2019 and 2022, specifically those included in the LQ45 index in 2023. The research findings indicate that cash flow and profitability impact stock returns, but solvency exerts little influence.

Abstract

During the 2019 Legislative Election, the community living on the Kampar Regency-Pekanbaru City border showed low political participation, especially in legislative elections. Normatively, residents of this border area should have been able to vote for representatives in the Kampar Regency DPRD, but many could not due to lacking Kampar Regency ID cards. This study aims to describe community participation during the 2019 Legislative Election in this border area and the efforts made by the KPU to increase participation. Using a qualitative approach, the study found that community participation was generally apathetic. Many residents were not registered in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) as they neglected to update their ID cards. Efforts to enhance participation included free population administration services facilitated by village governments. Key stakeholders—village heads, the Kampar Regency KPU, the District Election Committee, and political actors—played roles in these efforts, with village heads proving the most influential in encouraging participation. Most residents in the border area are migrants living in housing complexes or apartments, with their population administration still linked to their original hometowns. Despite these challenges, the measures taken aimed to ensure greater inclusion in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of administrative reforms to support democratic participation in the region.

Abstract

Conditional obligations are a fundamental concept in Indonesian civil law that provide flexibility in business transactions. Regulated in Article 1253 of the Indonesian Civil Code, these obligations allow the execution of a contract to be dependent on certain conditions that have not yet occurred. In business practice, conditional obligations are often applied in sales and purchase agreements, international business contracts, and transactions involving government regulations. One important aspect of their implementation is legal certainty, which is emphasized in Supreme Court Decision No. 218 PK/Pdt/2015, which states that agreements that are dependent on government approval cannot be executed before obtaining such approval. An analysis of this decision highlights the important legal implications of conditional obligations, both in ensuring legal protection and managing uncertainty in business agreements. Comparative studies with international legal systems, such as European civil law and common law, reveal that conditional obligations are widely recognized as a universal legal instrument in business contracts. Therefore, a thorough understanding of conditional obligations is essential for business practitioners and legal professionals to ensure effective agreements that minimize risk and comply with applicable legal regulations.

Abstract

The rapid advancement in technology and infomation has transformed human life paradigms, shifting conventional activities into digital realms through various technological devices. However, alongside technological progress, personal data has become increasingly vulnerable to misuse and privacy violations. The protection of personal data is considered a fundamental human right that must be guaranteed and respected. Although the Personal Data Protection Law has been enacted, its implementation faces various challenges such as data theft, fraud, data selling, and leaks managed by the government for public services. Therefore, this research examines how the government manages the protection and utilization of personal data in public services and the participation of the community in personal data protection. To address these questions, the author employs a qualitative writing method with a normative juridical approach. Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection provides a robust legal framework to safeguard individual data and ensure legal certainty for data controllers. Satu Data Indonesia plays a role in integrating data to enhance public service efficiency and ensure data security. However, the implementation and improvement of data protection systems are still necessary. Active participation from the government, data controllers, data owners, law enforcement agencies, as well as digital literacy education and regulatory strengthening, are expected to enhance security and public trust in managing personal data in the digital era.
