EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

                This research examines curriculum management at SMP Negeri 2 Kraton, a pesantren-based school, in implementing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. The study aims to understand the curriculum concept, project implementation, and its impact. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this research. The instruments used were interview guidelines and direct practices by the researcher. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed descriptively using an interactive analysis model through data collection, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project, in general, helps to enhance the competence and character of students by providing direct learning experiences about real life.

Abstract

Along with the change from the 2013 curriculum to an independent curriculum at the start of the 2022/2023 academic year. SDN Warungdowo I is one of the basic education institutions in Pasuruan Regency that was selected by the Ministry of Education and Culture to take part in the Class 2 Mobilization School Program. For this reason, researchers chose this institution to be the place for research on the Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5). The aim of this research is to reveal the design, implementation and results of the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project curriculum to realize imtaq for students at SDN Warungdowo I Pasuruan. Case study research method, because it can describe contemporary empirical research in a real life context. The research results show that the design of the P5 curriculum goes through a module planning process, organizing it using a block system at the end of the semester, and the P5 theme of the institution is a sustainable lifestyle with an evaluation system using assessment rubrics, and student performance. Implement P5 by carrying out activities according to the P5 module for each phase, using an assessment rubric with a checklist system, the P5 process goes through the stages of orientation, contextualization, action and reflection. Based on the recap of the assessment rubric, the results of its implementation in the Imtaq dimension with elements of morals towards nature reached 53%, the mutual cooperation dimension 27%, and the creative dimension 31%. Thus, it can be concluded that curriculum design and implementation of P5 play an important role in realizing the Imtaq dimension in students.

Abstract

Education is the main foundation to be able to create a good next generation of the nation. Furthermore, education based on local wisdom is also one of the efforts made so that students do not forget the cultural values ​​that exist around their place of residence. This study aims to see how the strategies applied by teachers in implementing local wisdom values ​​in the learning process at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta also factors that encourage and hinder its implementation. This study was written using a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely teachers of sociology, history, Javanese language, PPKn, guidance and counseling, vice principal of the school for curriculum, and vice principal of student affairs. The results of this study found that various strategies have been applied by teachers at SMA Negeri 5 Surakarta to instill local wisdom values ​​in the learning process. These strategies aim to instill the values ​​of discipline, cooperation, ethics, and so on. There are several encouraging factors such as the P5 program, while inhibiting factors include the high use of cellphones among students. This study was analyzed using Max Weber's theory of social action, where students' social actions are influenced by their social environment and goals.

Abstract

                This research examines the implementation of curriculum management in improving the quality of Islamic boarding school graduates at Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Ulum Al-Yasini Pasuruan. The aim of the research is to describe in depth the process of planning, implementing and evaluating the curriculum to improve the quality of santri graduates. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to understand curriculum management at Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Ulum Al-Yasini. The focus is on exploring the phenomenon of religious education, involving data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that curriculum planning in this madrasa includes five main components: needs analysis, holistic curriculum objectives, relevant teaching materials, varied learning methods, and ongoing evaluation. With a systematic approach, madrasas strive to produce students who not only have in-depth religious knowledge, but also practical skills and good character, so they are ready to face challenges in society. In the implementation process, active learning approaches, teacher involvement, and adapting the curriculum to local contexts have succeeded in improving the quality of graduates. Collaboration-based projects also strengthen students' social and adaptive skills. Curriculum evaluation is carried out through surveys, interviews and observations to collect in-depth data regarding the achievement of student competencies. Evaluation results are used as a basis for continuous improvement, ensuring the curriculum remains relevant to the demands of the times. This systematic evaluation has had a positive impact on the students' readiness to contribute to society. By implementing comprehensive and collaborative curriculum management, Madrasah Diniyah Miftahul Ulum Al-Yasini has succeeded in producing graduates who are qualified, adaptive, and ready to contribute positively in social and professional life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of e-book media to improve fifth-grade students' science literacy on the changes in matter topics. This study is motivated by the issue of low science literacy among the students. Science literacy can be performed properly since it is supported by the appropriate selection of learning media. This study was conducted at one of the public elementary schools in the Ciparay Subdistrict of Bandung Regency, using a descriptive essay test as the instrument. Meanwhile, the study used the Design & Development method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model approach. The analysis stage included analyzing the content of the material, users, hardware, and software. The design stage included designing the entire design using a flowchart. The development stage included developing the entire e-book media design, which was validated by media and material experts, and achieving an average result of 94% in the “Highly Feasible” category. In the implementation stage, product testing of the e-book media was conducted on 30 students and 3 teachers, obtaining an average result of 87%, categorized as 'Very Good'. Then, for the improvement of fifth-grade students’ science literacy, specifically on the topic of changes in matter, the average pretest score obtained was 39.87. After using the e-book, the average post-test score increased to 62.46. In the evaluation stage, the experts refined the design and appearance of the e-book media according to user needs. E-book has met the needs of the school in the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The negative impact caused by prolonged exposure to the sun's UV rays causes health problems and other skin losses. The skin has a layer of melanin that can protect the skin from the sun's UV rays, including the facial skin, which tends to be more sensitive than other parts of the skin. One way to protect facial skin is by using sunscreen. Dewi Sartika High School is located in Jakarta. The climate of Jakarta is a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season. Students of SMA Dewi Sartika Jakarta really need to protect their facial skin from exposure to the sun's UV rays, moreover students of SMA Dewi Sartika Jakarta do a lot of outdoor activities with examples of sports, ceremonies, and extracurricular activities. This study was conducted to determine the effect of knowledge of the benefits of sunscreen on sunscreen use behavior. Sampling on 19 questions about knowledge and 20 statements about behavior. The results showed that between the knowledge variable (X) and the behavior variable (Y) (P=0.0898) so it can be concluded that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted. This states that there is no significant influence between knowledge on usage behavior.

Abstract

In this paper, literature, history, art, and cultural values ​​are discussed and it is emphasized that Arabic does not only function as a means of communication, but also a reflection of the culture and way of life of Arab society. The lack of ability of Arab teachers in understanding Arabic culture which results in difficulties in the learning process that integrates aspects of Arabic culture is an important factor in the decline in students' mastery and understanding of the technical aspects of the language, both meaning and broader cultural context. So the purpose of cultural integration in the Arabic language learning curriculum is to gain a deeper and contextual understanding of the language, social, history, and cultural values ​​that exist in the language. With the theory of cultural integration using qualitative descriptive methods used in this study, which involved observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, revealed. The results showed that higher learning motivation, improved language skills and a deep understanding of Arabic culture can enrich students' learning experiences and prepare them to interact better in the international world. This study shows that culture-based teaching methods are more effective when used in the Arabic language learning process. However, the main problem for teachers who do not understand Arabic culture, which requires strategic solutions such as the use of technology and special training. With the aim of improving teaching efficiency and students' understanding of Arabic language and its culture as a whole, this paper provides practical guidelines for educators to incorporate Arabic cultural elements into the Arabic language learning process.

Abstract

The Word Search vocabulary game method involves searching for words within a randomly arranged grid of letters, which can be organized both horizontally and vertically. This method is implemented using a self-paced learning approach, providing students with the flexibility to learn independently and manage their time, pace, and learning path according to their needs. The aim of this research are to determine the effectiveness of the Word Search game with a self-paced learning approach in vocabulary learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Falah Tulungagung. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a purposive sampling method. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Falah Tulungagung, with a total of 60 students. Data collection methods include observation and tests. Data analysis used the t-test with the SPSS 27 program. The results of this study are the hypothesis test results show a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of the Word Search game on vocabulary learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Falah Tulungagung. In terms of the effectiveness of the Word Search game with a self-paced learning approach, the N-gain results reached 70.2%, which, according to the gain interpretation, indicates that it is quite effective.

Abstract

Students can support their learning process and, of course, acquire a variety of key creativity being one of them by using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) paradigm, besides that it is very suitable in the implementation of the independent curriculum. However, SMAN 13 Banjarmasin school has never applied this learning method in biology learning, especially virus material. This study was to find out how PjBL instruction on virus material affected the class X students at SMA Negeri 13 Banjarmasin's capacity for creative thought. The research strategy utilized is a quasi-experiment, with a control group pre-test-post-test. PjBL learning is applied in one class as an experimental class, and direct instruction learning model—a learning model that is typically implemented—is applied in the control class. The N Gain test and the Mann Whitney U test, which compares the control and experimental classes, are the analysis techniques employed. Because the level of significance was 0.001 <0.05, analysis based on hypothesis testing demonstrated that the PjBL model had a substantial impact on creative thinking skills when compared to the conventional model. The results of this research support the conclusion that applying the PjBL model significantly improves students' capacity for creatuve thinking skills, which is measured using four criteria: 1) Fluency; 2) Flexibility; 3) Originality; and 4) Elaboration.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' metacognition in problem solving of two physics contexts, i.e. static fluid and heat. The subjects of the research were twenty-five second grade students of a high school in Palu. From the subjects, six students were selected as respondents using selection test. The six respondents represented three categories, i.e., high, medium, and low ability. The data of this research, collection using essay test of physics problems in the two contexts, problem solving activities in setting of thinking-aloud, and it was followed by interview. Based on data analysis it was found that, students of the high category do aspects from three components of metacognition, i.e. awareness, evaluation dan regulation. Students of the medium category do aspects from components of metacognition awareness, but occasionally do aspects from components of metacognition evaluation for considered difficult problems. Students of the low category only do aspects from components of metacognition evaluation by being aware for their own limitations in problem solving. Evaluation is the components of metacognition that always be there for all students' categories, and this applies in two contexts of physics materials. The ability of understand learning influences problem solving which is closely related to metacognition behaviour.
