Abstract

Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia, attracting significant attention for the development of natural and sport tourism attractions in the Mount Merapi National Park (TNGM). However, high volcanic activity and periodic eruptions have led to various multidimensional impacts that could potentially impact the future sustainability of the tourism sector. This study aims to identify and analyze the potential impacts of eruptions on the development of sport tourism destinations in the Mount Merapi National Park area. This research was implemented using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach in the affected area. Comprehensive data collection was conducted through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving various stakeholders, including TNGM managers, private tourism destination managers, service providers, local communities, and tourists. Data analysis was conducted systematically using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, combined with SWOT analysis to formulate strategies. The results of this study indicate that eruptions have had direct negative impacts in the form of infrastructure damage and the closure of high-risk activity routes, as well as indirect impacts such as decreased visitation due to increased perceptions of security risks. On the other hand, the eruption has been shown to have a positive impact through the formation of a new volcanic landscape, which has sparked increased interest in disaster mitigation-based adventure and educational tourism (Volcano-Sport-Edu). In conclusion, the development of sports tourism in TNGM requires adaptive management strategies, strong cross-sector collaboration, and the integration of sustainable disaster management to ensure the safety, environmental conservation, and economic well-being of local residents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Eco Culture Project based on meaningful learning on the social interactions of early childhood children in Pembina 3 Pekanbaru State Kindergarten. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method through a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were 60 early childhood children consisting of 30 children in the experimental class and 30 children in the control class. The experimental class received treatment in the form of Eco Culture Project activities based on meaningful learning, while the control class followed regular learning. Data were collected through observation sheets for children's social interactions consisting of 26 indicators, including the ability to cooperate, communicate, share, respect friends, obey rules, and participate in group activities. The results of the study in the experimental class showed an increase in children's social interactions after being given treatment. The total pretest score of the experimental class was 1,498 with a percentage of 48.01%, increasing to 2,436 with a percentage of 78.08% in the posttest. The average increase in scores was 31.27 points with an N-Gain value of 0.58 which is included in the moderate category. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental class with a significance value of p < 0.001. Thus, the Eco Culture Project based on meaningful learning is effective in improving social interactions in early childhood. These findings indicate that project activities that integrate environmental exploration, local culture, group work, and reflection on learning experiences can create contextual, collaborative, and meaningful learning for children's social development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze cognitive-behavior-based service communication in handling patient complaints at Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang. Service communication in a hospital context does not only function as a process of delivering information but also as a strategy to help patients understand service situations, manage perceptions, reduce emotional tension, and shape more cooperative communication behavior. The cognitive-behavior approach is used to examine the relationship between patients’ understanding of service information, emotional responses when facing service problems, and patient behavior in expressing complaints. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The informants consist of information service officers, administrative staff, and patients or patients’ families who have submitted complaints. The findings indicate that clear, empathetic, responsive, and easily understood service communication can help patients interpret complaints more rationally, reduce anxiety, and encourage more open and cooperative communication behavior. Conversely, incomplete information, slow responses, and less communicative service language may generate negative perceptions, dissatisfaction, and more emotional complaint behavior. This study emphasizes that handling patient complaints requires attention to patients’ cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. Therefore, cognitive-behavior-based service communication can serve as a strategic approach to improving service quality, patient trust, and hospital image.

Abstract

Acne is one of the most common skin disorders caused by Propionibacterium acnes, while prolonged use of antibiotics may contribute to bacterial resistance, highlighting the need for natural antibacterial alternatives. This study aimed to formulate solid bath soap containing a combination of green betel leaf (Piper betle L.) and Lombok basil (Ocimum sanctum L.) extracts and to evaluate its physical characteristics and antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes. A laboratory experimental method was employed using three extract concentrations, namely 5%, 7%, and 9%. The evaluation included organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, moisture content, foam height, irritation test, antibacterial activity, and statistical analysis using One Way ANOVA followed by Tukey HSD. The results demonstrated that all formulations fulfilled the physical quality requirements, caused no skin irritation, and exhibited antibacterial activity. The average inhibition zones were 19.0 mm, 25.6 mm, and 28.6 mm, while the positive control produced a 29.0 mm inhibition zone. Statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in antibacterial activity among treatments (p=0.010). These findings indicate that increasing extract concentration enhanced antibacterial activity, although differences among formulations were not entirely significant. Therefore, the combination of green betel leaf and Lombok basil extracts has promising potential as a natural active ingredient in antibacterial solid bath soap for inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of education requires integration that is not only technical in nature but also grounded in sound learning theories. This study aims to analyze the integration of behaviorist, cognitivist, and constructivist theories in the development of AI-based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning media, as well as to identify appropriate forms of media and their implications for improving the quality of learning. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Data sources include textbooks on learning psychology, articles from accredited national and international journals, as well as literature related to AI and PAI media published within the last five years. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive-analytical approach with source triangulation. The results indicate that integrating these three theories is not sufficient by merely combining their features separately; rather, it must occur through a mechanism of mutual reinforcement within a continuous cycle: error data from adaptive exercises (behaviorist) triggers the personalization of materials (cognitivist), structural understanding becomes the subject of discussion (constructivist), and the outcomes of these discussions enrich the subsequent question bank (behaviorist). The appropriate form of media is an integrated platform that features an adaptive practice system, dynamic concept maps, and discussion forums or guided chatbots. The implications of this integration include improved conceptual understanding, long-term retention, critical thinking and collaboration skills, and the strengthening of students’ intrinsic motivation. This study recommends that educational media developers and PAI teachers adopt this integration framework when selecting and designing AI-based media.

Abstract

Coconut (Cocos nucifera) is a tropical plant with great potential as a source of bioactives in the development of functional foods, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceutical products. This study aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to synthesize scientific evidence related to its bioactive content, biological functions, and potential applications in the health and natural product-based industries. This study uses the PRISMA approach with data sources from Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Scopus, and limits the literature to the period 2022–2026. From the selection process, 45 scientific articles were obtained which were analyzed thematically and narratively. The results of the study indicate that coconut contains key bioactive compounds such as Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), lauric acid, polyphenols, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds that have antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities. In the context of functional foods, coconut is utilized in the form of coconut water, coconut oil, coconut milk, and processed functional food products that play a role in hydration, energy metabolism, and metabolic health management. From a nutraceutical perspective, coconuts have potential as a disease preventative agent through their immunomodulatory effects and blood glucose regulation. Furthermore, coconuts also have pharmaceutical potential as a raw material for pharmaceutical preparations, lipid-based drug delivery systems, and as a source of phytopharmaceuticals, while also supporting biotechnology and the circular economy through the utilization of their waste. However, limitations remain, such as the lack of human clinical trials and standardization of extracts, necessitating further research. In conclusion, Cocos nucifera is a strategic bioresource with significant potential for the development of functional foods, nutraceuticals, and natural-based pharmaceuticals.

Abstract

Decision making is an essential psychological behavior in individual and organizational life as it determines actions and their consequences. This study aims to analyze decision-making behavior from the perspectives of positive psychology and indigenous psychology and to integrate both approaches in understanding decision making within a cultural context. This research employed a literature review method using secondary data obtained from relevant academic journals and scholarly books. Data were analyzed using content analysis to examine key concepts, findings, and theoretical frameworks related to decision making, psychological well-being, and cultural values. The findings indicate that from the perspective of positive psychology, decision making is significantly influenced by individuals’ psychological strengths, such as motivation, emotional intelligence, and self-efficacy, which contribute to more adaptive and meaningful decisions. Meanwhile, indigenous psychology emphasizes that decision making is strongly shaped by cultural values, social norms, and collectivistic orientations, particularly within the Indonesian context. The integration of positive psychology and indigenous psychology provides a more holistic understanding of decision-making behavior, where decisions are not solely evaluated based on goal effectiveness but also on psychological well-being and social harmony. This study highlights the importance of an integrative approach in understanding context-sensitive and sustainable decision-making behavior.
