Abstract

This community service initiative aims to enhance the financial literacy of millennial MSME actors in Lampung through targeted cash management training and assistance. The primary objective is to equip participants with essential financial skills, enabling them to make informed decisions and improve their business sustainability. Utilizing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, the program engages participants in a collaborative learning process, fostering ownership and relevance in the training content. Results indicate a significant improvement in participants' understanding of cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning. Pre- and post-training assessments revealed a marked increase in financial literacy scores, demonstrating the effectiveness of the training. Additionally, participants reported increased confidence in managing their finances and making strategic business decisions. However, the initiative faced practical limitations, including varying levels of initial financial knowledge among participants and limited access to financial resources. Theoretical limitations include the challenge of measuring long-term impacts on business performance and financial stability. Despite these challenges, the program highlights the importance of tailored financial education for millennial MSME actors, contributing to their empowerment and the overall economic development of the Lampung region. Future efforts should focus on sustaining financial literacy initiatives and addressing resource accessibility to maximize impact.

Abstract

This systematic literature review explores the application and efficacy of virtual reality as a tool for teaching and improving skills in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Considering the heterogeneity of ASD and the importance of early intervention, it is imperative to identify effective, innovative therapeutic approaches. A comprehensive search of existing literature and research databases, including PubMed, PsycINFO, IEEE Xplore, Scopus and EBSCOhost, was undertaken, and 704 articles were identified as relevant. We evaluated these studies, establishing their eligibility, and eight met the inclusion criteria. This review synthesised studies highlighting the potential of virtual reality to address the unique needs of individuals with ASD, including social skills training, emotional and cognitive development and the management of specific phobias. It reveals how virtual reality simulations offer a safe and controlled environment for practice and learning, supporting the development of essential skills for social interaction and daily functioning. With its structured and individualised approach, virtual reality technology emerges as a promising intervention that caters to the diverse requirements of the ASD population. The review calls for further research to optimise virtual reality tools for broader clinical applications, aiming for more inclusive and accessible interventions for individuals with ASD.

Abstract

Tanjungan Village in Mojokerto Regency has an ecotourism area consisting of a reservoir and a forest, which has not been optimally utilized. The local community also faces limitations in managing their health independently. This community empowerment program aims to enhance health self-sufficiency through the development of a family medicinal plants (TOGA) showcase at Tanjungan Ecotourism. The program involves guidance on designing the layout of the showcase, medicinal plant cultivation techniques, and the implementation of a sprinkler irrigation system to improve water use efficiency. The results indicate a 17% increase in the community’s knowledge and improved skills in planting and maintaining medicinal plants. Additionally, the use of sprinkler irrigation has reduced water consumption by up to 30%, significantly enhancing plant growth. In addition to providing health benefits, the presence of the TOGA showcase also has the potential to boost the village’s tourism appeal. Therefore, the sustainability of this program needs to be maintained through the optimization of medicinal plant utilization and further assistance in post-harvest processing.

Abstract

The waste problem in Dukuhwaluh Village was still a lot of household waste thrown away in any places. This household waste causes unpleasant odors, environmental pollution, various disease outbreaks, aesthetic disturbances, and flooding during the rainy season. Another problem encountered in Dukuhwaluh Village is the provision of feed for catfish farmers, the price of which is increasingly expensive. This causes the development of the catfish farming business to be very slow and even threatened with collapse. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of fish farmers in Dukuh Waluh Village in cultivating maggots using media from household organic waste. This community service activity also aims to develop magot as an alternative fish food that is cheap, has high nutritional value and is environmentally friendly. The implementation of this community service uses research-based community empowerment methods. Meanwhile, the approach method used in implementing community service is active and collaborative participation. The results of community service activities can increase the knowledge and skills of the Dukuhwaluh Village fish farmer in maggot cultivation. The fish farmer group has also been able to practice magot cultivation using household organic waste properly and correctly, as well as applying the results of maggot cultivation to feed catfish. Throughout an 80-day cultivation period, catfish fed a combination of commercial feed and maggots demonstrated an average daily weight gain of 1.5 grams and achieved a feed conversion ratio (FCR) of 1.2. The incorporation of maggots as an alternative protein source was able to substitute up to 45% of the commercial feed without compromising growth performance.

Abstract

The Papuan Indigenous People in Payum Village, Merauke, who are mostly fishermen, face economic challenges due to the impact of climate change which has the potential to reduce fish catches. On the other hand, women in this village have not been actively involved in potential economic activities. The strategy to overcome these challenges is to conduct training in making coconut derivative products, such as body butter, solid soap, body scrub, and lip balm. This training aims to empower the community, especially women, by improving their skills in utilizing the abundant potential of coconuts to create value-added business opportunities. The results of the training showed success in improving the understanding and skills of the participants. The participants, under the guidance of expert speakers from Makassar, succeeded in producing various coconut derivative products according to standards. In addition, this training also facilitated the formation of women's business groups as a strategic step in community empowerment in Payum Village. With further assistance, this activity is expected to be able to create economic independence for the community and become a model of empowerment based on local potential to deal with the impacts of climate change.

Abstract

The Indonesian government is encouraging the digitalization of public procurement to strengthen the use of domestic products and services, including competency certification. The LSP Batik is a professional certification institution that assesses the competencies of batik artisans and communities. They face challenges due to limited digitalization and restricted access to certification information. This project aims to develop an e-catalog design for the certification schemes and to enhance the understanding of digital procurement. A Participatory Design approach was adopted, actively engaging both end-users and key stakeholders across all phases of the co-creation and evaluation process. The project culminated in the development of an e-catalog integrated with the government's e-procurement portal, designed to modernize the services of LSP Batik. The design evaluation yielded high suitability scores for illustration and contrast (100%), followed by the completeness of information (88%), and branding and clarity of information (75%). Furthermore, user assessment indicated a high degree of comprehension in product search functionality (100%), while understanding of product comparison (63%) and showcase development (50%) was moderate, suggesting areas for future improvement.
