Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the school environment influences students’ interests and motivation in learning at SDN Maos Lor 04. The main research subjects were grade V students, and teachers as supporting informants. The school environment, which includes the physical condition of the building, social interaction, and availability of learning facilities, plays an important role in creating a positive and enjoyable lerning atmosphere, This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that a clean, orderly, safe school atmosphere, as well as a harmonious relationship between teachers and students can encourage enthusiasm for learning and increase student involvement in the learning process. Conversely, a less supportive school environment tends to reduce student motivation and active participation. Students’ interests and desires in learning are also influenced by other factors such as family involvement, emotional support, and implementation of appropriate learning strategies. Therefore, synergy between schools, teachers, and parents is needed to create a conductive and meaningful learning environment for student development.

Abstract

The process of Islam entering the archipelago has a long and interesting history to study. It is estimated that Islam entered the archipelago in the 7th century AD to the 13th century AD. The process of Islamization in the archipelago took place peacefully, where its spread emphasized the spiritual and ethical aspects of life, so that society could accept it well. The routes used were also very diverse, ranging from trade, marriage, politics to art and culture. In addition to these routes, the spread of Islam was also supported by the role of Islamic kingdoms such as the Samudra Pasai Kingdom, the Aceh Kingdom to the Demak Kingdom. With various routes and roles of the kingdom, Islam developed and took root in the archipelago. However, when Islam actually entered the archipelago is still a question to this day. These theories have historical evidence that supports their opinions, so that various theories have developed that explain the beginning of Islam entering the archipelago. These theories include the Gujarat Theory, the Arab Theory, the Persian Theory and the Chinese Theory.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the trends and applications of technology in educational research, which are rapidly evolving along with digital advances and the need for adaptive learning. Phenomena such as big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and online learning have changed the way research is conducted, both in terms of data collection and analysis. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this study analyzes various applications that support the effectiveness of educational research and the challenges faced in their use. The results show that trends such as the use of AI, big data, and mixed methods contribute significantly to the validity and efficiency of educational research. However, challenges such as low technological literacy, data security risks, and infrastructure limitations remain major obstacles. These findings are expected to be the basis for formulating data-based educational policies and developing more innovative research methods.

Abstract

Semantics is a branch of linguistics that studies meaning in language, both at the word, phrase, and sentence levels. This study covers the relationship between linguistic signs and the meaning they contain and their implications for human understanding. This study aims to describe (1) the definition of semantics according to experts, (2) types of meaning in Indonesian, (3) forms of meaning change, and (4) the phenomena of ambiguity, homonyms, homophones, and homographs along with examples. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, namely examining various sources of literature such as books, journals, and scientific articles that are relevant to the study of semantics. The results of the study show that the types of meaning in Indonesian include lexical, grammatical, referential, non-referential, denotative, and connotative meanings. Changes in meaning are divided into generalization, specialization, amelioration, pejoration, and associative. In addition, linguistic phenomena such as ambiguity (double meanings due to sentence structure), homonyms (words with the same pronunciation and spelling, different meanings), homophones (same pronunciation, different spelling and meanings), and homographs (same spelling, different pronunciation and meanings) were also found.

Abstract

This study discusses social media-based English learning strategies in a case study on @glishbygiovana Instagram account. The background of the study is based on the increasing use of social media as a flexible alternative learning tool, especially among the younger generation. The main objective of this study is to analyze the type of content, presentation format, audience interaction, and the impact of reporting English skills on increasing followers. The study utilized a descriptive qualitative method in a case study approach. The results showed that short videos such as stories and comments, educational signatures, and interactive characteristics successfully attracted users' attention and increased active participation in the learning process. The interaction formed between accounting assistants and followers creates a supportive and dynamic learning community. These results suggest that social media, particularly Instagram, can be an effective and enjoyable learning tool when consistently relevant. The effectiveness of this study demonstrates the potential of social media as an adaptive educational platform for modern learning needs and can be used as a model for formal non-classroom English teaching strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the forms of homographs found in the Makassar language as used by the community in Pattene Village. This study also aims to describe how the multiple meanings of the homographs are represented in the context of everyday communication, and how the understanding of the meaning is influenced by the situation, intonation, and social relations between speakers. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. This approach was chosen to study and describe in depth the linguistic phenomenon of multiple meanings (homographs) in the Makassar language based on data obtained from native speakers in Pattene Village. The focus of the study is directed at the use of homographs in oral communication among the community, as well as the context that influences changes in their meaning. The main data sources in this study are community speech recorded through interviews, participatory observations, and documentation of everyday conversations. The results of the study show that the community in Pattene Village uses a number of homograph words in the Makassar language that have multiple meanings depending on the context of the speech. A total of 12 main homographs were successfully identified through interviews and field observations. These homographs have the same phonological structure but show different meanings based on situational context, tone of voice, and position in a sentence. For example, the word "balla" can mean house in a general context, but is also used to express the meaning of an extended family or origin in a traditional context. This shows that the understanding of the meaning of homographs is highly dependent on the cultural knowledge and social experience of the speaker.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of classical and modern management theories in establishing the foundations of educational management in Indonesia. The study focuses on Frederick W. Taylor's scientific management theory, Henri Fayol's administrative theory, Max Weber's bureaucracy theory, and Peter F. Drucker's modern management theory. The research method used is library research with a content analysis approach, which examines relevant literature in the form of books, journals, and articles. The results of the study show that Taylor emphasizes work efficiency through systematic procedures, Fayol emphasizes the importance of managerial functions (planning, organizing, directing, controlling), Weber emphasizes order and formal legitimacy through rational rules, while Drucker focuses more on achieving vision, innovation, and empowering people as knowledge workers. In general, the theories of Taylor, Fayol, and Weber provide a classical foundation for educational management with an orientation towards structure, efficiency, and rules, while Drucker provides a modern foundation that emphasizes flexibility, innovation, and social relevance. Thus, a combination of classical and modern theories can be used as a strategic basis to strengthen Indonesian educational management to be more adaptive in facing global challenges and the digital era.
