Abstract

This study aims to develop ecoliteracy in early childhood students through the implementation of the Waste Bank Program at PAUD Kober Al-'Urwatul Wutsqa, which consists of 45 students. This program introduces the concept of waste sorting, recycling, and waste management as part of environmental-based learning. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Waste Bank Program has succeeded in improving students' understanding and behavior towards the environment, where they are starting to be able to sort waste and understand the importance of maintaining cleanliness and reducing waste. In addition, this program also supports the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as quality education (Goal 4), responsible consumption and production (Goal 12), and action on climate change (Goal 13). Thus, this program has proven effective in instilling sustainability values in students from an early age and can be a model for implementation for other schools

Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of the concept of energy in early childhood through simple experimental activities at RA Al-Ihya. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative descriptive approach, which is carried out in four cycles including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The experiments carried out include the concepts of heat energy, wind energy, and kinetic energy, designed to suit the cognitive development of early childhood. The results of the study showed that children experienced a significant increase in understanding of the concept of energy after participating in the experiment. In the first cycle, children began to understand that sunlight can change the temperature of objects. The second and third cycles showed that children could relate wind and thrust to the movement of objects. Evaluation in the fourth cycle showed that children were actively involved and used simple scientific language to explain the phenomena they observed. Simple experimental activities have proven effective in increasing children's engagement and enthusiasm for science. Despite challenges such as language limitations and differences in cognitive development, the results of this study suggest that an experiment-based approach can strengthen the understanding of science concepts in early childhood. This study makes an important contribution to science learning methods in early childhood education and emphasizes the role of teachers in supporting active and interactive learning

Abstract

This research aims to determine parents' perceptions of the importance of early childhood cognitive development in the Mother's Love Play Group in increasing parents' awareness of the importance of early childhood cognitive development. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving interviews, observation and documentation to collect data. The main findings show that the perceptions of parents in the Kasih Bunda play group regarding the cognitive development of early childhood vary. Parents act as partners with teachers by repeating material taught at school and teaching values such as respect and religious knowledge. They also act as guardians by upholding justice, teaching responsibility, and forgiveness. As friends, parents accompany children when studying and eating, creating a comfortable environment for communication. As facilitators, parents fulfill their children's school needs such as study desks and stationery, which supports cognitive development. Parents in this group show great concern for their children's cognitive development, trying to provide the support and facilities necessary for their children's education so that they become individuals with good character and benefit society. However, factors such as limited parental time, heredity, environment, interests and talents and freedom. Suggestions for deepening knowledge about early childhood education, because this period is the ideal time to provide stimulation that supports optimal child development

Abstract

Intelligence cannot be measured only based on academic intelligence or IQ tests, but by looking at a person's ability to solve every problem (problem solving) and the ability to create new products that have cultural value (creativity). The aim of this research is to provide knowledge of multiple intelligence-based learning in early childhood education, and the application of multiple intelligence-based learning for early childhood. With this intelligence, students can adapt and learn from experience. According to Gardner, this learning model is a learning model that uses and applies multiple intelligence theory which needs to be prepared and designed well before the learning process is carried out. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this research show that learning based on multiple intelligences in PAUD requires educators to have good creativity by using a variety of methods and shows that the application of learning based on multiple intelligences in PAUD can increase the activity and creativity of educators and students

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the use of picture story books can build reading interest in early childhood. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods was used in this study, involving observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The subjects of the study were children aged 3-6 years in several Kindergartens (TK), as well as their teachers and parents. The results of the study showed that picture story books were effective in increasing children's reading interest. Children who regularly interact with picture books showed a significant increase in reading interest, story comprehension, and active engagement during reading activities. Illustrations in books help children understand and remember stories better, as well as encourage their creativity and imagination. The use of picture books also contributes to the development of children's language skills, with increased vocabulary and confidence in speaking. Active support from parents and teachers has been shown to be important in fostering children's reading interest. Children who receive this support show stronger reading habits. The findings also show that children have a preference for books with bright colors, interesting characters, and adventurous stories
