Abstract

The rapid growth of the online marketplace sector has transformed the way sellers operate their businesses in the digital age. The choice of online marketplace platform is a strategic decision as it directly influences market reach, operational efficiency and seller satisfaction. This study aims to analyse the influence of promotions, transaction costs, delivery services, and vendor support on seller satisfaction when selecting an online marketplace platform. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 100 sellers operating in the Central Java region. Data were collected via a structured questionnaire and analysed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modelling (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that promotions, transaction costs, delivery services, and vendor support have a positive influence on seller satisfaction. Among these four factors, vendor support has the most significant influence on seller satisfaction when using online marketplace platforms. These findings suggest that the technical support and services provided by platform operators play a crucial role in enhancing seller satisfaction and the continued use of the platform by sellers.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the challenges, the role of the curriculum, and instructional strategies in improving the speaking skills of BIPA learners. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data sources derived from academic literature (journals, books, and relevant research reports) as well as curriculum documents and related teaching practices. Data collection was conducted through document analysis, while data were analyzed using content analysis techniques, including data reduction, categorization, and thematic interpretation. The findings indicate that the main challenges in developing communicative competence include pragmatic limitations, cultural differences, and the lack of authentic practice in learning activities. The BIPA curriculum tends to emphasize formal linguistic aspects and has not fully supported the development of contextual communicative competence. Therefore, the role of teachers and instructional media is crucial in creating interactive and contextual learning environments. Effective strategies include interaction-based learning, the use of digital technology, and the integration of cultural contexts into speaking activities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of developing more communicative, adaptive, and practice-oriented curricula and teaching strategies to enhance learners’ speaking skills. However, this study is limited by its reliance on secondary data derived from literature, which may not fully represent real classroom conditions. Future research is recommended to adopt empirical approaches involving field data to obtain more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

Academic anxiety can reduce concentration, impair working memory, and have a negative impact on academic performance. This study aims to synthesise the scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of Chewing Gum Distraction (CGD) and Slow Deep Breathing (SDB) in reducing academic anxiety using the Roy Adaptation Model (RAM) framework. This study employed a literature review method with a systematic search across five international scientific databases Scopus, PubMed/MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and Google Scholar for publications from 2019 to 2025. The included articles were primary studies with a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT), quasi-experimental, or experimental design investigating the CGD or SDB interventions on academic anxiety or stress among university students. A total of six articles met the inclusion criteria and were analysed thematically. The results of the review indicate that both interventions consistently reduced anxiety or stress levels significantly (p < 0.05). CGD operates through cognitive regulation by reducing rumination and modulating attention, whilst SDB operates through physiological regulation by increasing parasympathetic activity and autonomic stability. The combination of these two interventions has the potential to serve as an effective psychophysiological adaptation strategy for reducing students’ academic anxiety.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Three-Language Assembly Program in fostering language culture at MTsN 2 Mandailing Natal. This program is a habituation strategy that rotates the use of Indonesian, Arabic, and English during morning assemblies to create a multilingual and character-oriented educational environment. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 25 informants consisting of the principal, vice principal, teachers, and students, as well as documentation. Data analysis utilized the interactive model including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the program is systematically implemented through teacher mentoring, a rotating officer system, and regular evaluations. This initiative contributes to improving students' speaking skills, self-confidence, and character development, while simultaneously strengthening their religious, national, and global identities. The main supporting factors include the consistency of the language environment and active teacher involvement, whereas challenges involve public speaking anxiety, limited vocabulary, and the suboptimal use of foreign languages outside assembly activities. These findings confirm that consistent practice and institutional support are keys to the program's success in fostering language culture in madrasah settings

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of research on sustainable consumption and waste prevention in marketing literature, identify forms of marketing interventions that encourage food waste prevention and zero-waste lifestyles, and explain the mechanisms of the relationship between marketing interventions and sustainable consumption behavior. The study uses a systematic literature review design with journal article data sources obtained from the Scopus database and selected according to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The selection process resulted in 69 articles being reviewed from an initial 782 records. Data analysis techniques were conducted through descriptive analysis and thematic analysis. The findings indicate a shift in the literature’s focus from general discussions of green purchasing behavior toward a more specific emphasis on food waste reduction and low-waste lifestyles. The identified marketing interventions are no longer limited to green promotions but have expanded to include labeling, packaging design, portion control, visual cues, social media campaigns, digital nudges, brand experiences, apps, and digital platform support. The findings also indicate that the effects of marketing interventions operate indirectly through cognitive, affective, and normative mechanisms, consumer capabilities, segmentation, and system support. The contributions of this research lie in mapping the evolution of the literature, developing a typology of marketing interventions, and creating a conceptual synthesis model of sustainable consumption behavior.

Abstract

Heavy metal contamination in coastal waters is an environmental issue that affects ecosystem balance and public health. Cadmium (Cd) is a non-essential heavy metal that is toxic, persistent, and has the potential to accumulate in aquatic sediments. This study aimed to analyze cadmium (Cd) concentrations in sediments from Totok Bay and compare the results with the applicable sediment quality standards. A quantitative descriptive design was employed using field surveys and laboratory analyses. Sediment samples were collected from 16 sampling points using a purposive sampling method at a depth of 10–15 cm. Cadmium concentrations were analyzed using the Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) method at the Makassar Public Health Laboratory. The results showed that cadmium concentrations in all 16 sediment samples were below the instrument detection limit (<0.00003 mg/kg). These values were far below the NOAA Sediment Quality Guidelines threshold of 36.6 mg/kg, indicating that all samples met environmental safety requirements. In conclusion, sediments in Totok Bay have not been contaminated with cadmium at levels that pose a risk to the ecosystem or public health. Nevertheless, periodic monitoring remains necessary due to ongoing mining activities in the surrounding area. This study was limited to the analysis of cadmium in sediment media only. Future studies are recommended to investigate other heavy metals and include water and aquatic biota as environmental media to support more comprehensive environmental monitoring.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the professional development of intern teachers through the Field Experience Practice Program (PPL) with a focus on STAIN Mandailing Natal (Madina) students at SMP Negeri 1 Panyabungan. Specifically, this study explores how practical field experience contributes to pedagogical and professional learner competencies. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation of student teaching activities, in-depth interviews with supervising teachers and student interns, and documentation of PPL reports. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the PPL program plays a significant role in improving the professionalism of intern teachers, especially in terms of classroom management skills and learning tool development. The close relationship between intensive guidance from mentor teachers (methods) and adaptation to the school environment has proven to be key factors in transforming students' identities from practitioners to prospective professional teachers. However, challenges arise in synchronizing academic theory with classroom realities, necessitating enhanced clinical supervision throughout the program. This study provides a theoretical contribution to the collaborative clinical mentoring model between state religious universities and public schools in creating an adaptive learning ecosystem in the era of digital disruption
