Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Bojonegoro local wisdom-based ecopedagogy approach in Social Studies (IPS) learning and its impact on students' environmental awareness. Indonesia has great potential in implementing local wisdom-based education to address issues of ecosystem damage such as deforestation and pollution. The research method used is a literature study (library research) with a thematic analysis approach to various relevant library sources related to ecopedagogy theory, local wisdom, and its implementation at the school level. The results of the study indicate that the integration of Bojonegoro local values, such as traditional irrigation systems, the utilization of Bengawan Solo mud sedimentation (the "Nggawan" system), the "Pladu" tradition, and conservation myths, can create a more contextual and meaningful IPS learning and can increase students' sense of ecological responsibility. The implementation of ecopedagogies also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of quality education and climate change mitigation. However, this study identified a major challenge in the form of teachers' limited understanding of how to integrate local wisdom into established curricula. Therefore, intensive teacher training and the active involvement of local communities, such as farmers and traditional leaders, are needed to strengthen experiential learning materials. Overall, this article concludes that strengthening local wisdom-based education is a crucial strategy for developing a young generation that is environmentally sensitive and ready to become agents of change in building a sustainable society

Abstract

While digital technology has become a staple in modern classrooms, its capacity to instill meaningful social values remains notably underdeveloped, particularly within the domain of social studies. This research seeks to bridge this gap by investigating an integration model underpinned by TPACK designed to bolster both social literacy and higher order thinking skills among students. Adopting a quantitative quasi experimental approach with a non equivalent control group design, the study focused on eighth grade students at a public junior high school in Madiun, Indonesia. Participants were selected via cluster random sampling and partitioned into experimental and control cohorts. Data, gathered through validated assessment instruments, underwent rigorous analysis using independent samples t tests. The empirical results demonstrate that the proposed model yields significantly better outcomes than traditional instructional methods in advancing both cognitive abilities and social proficiency (p < 0.05). A pivotal aspect of this model is its synthesis of the TPACK framework with the triadic process of social meaning construction, namely objectification, subjectification, and externalization, which facilitates the conversion of digital content into authentic social awareness. From a theoretical perspective, this research contributes to digital pedagogy oriented toward values by reimagining TPACK as a vehicle for social value formation rather than a mere framework for technical implementation. On a practical level, the model provides educators with a systematic blueprint for weaving essential social values into the fabric of digital learning environments. Keywords: TPACK, social internalization, social literacy, HOTS, digital pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of campus ecological environmental conditions on students' ecological citizenship and test the differences between regions in three cities, namely Blitar, Sumenep, and Surabaya. The method used is a comparative quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. Data were collected through questionnaires of 190 college students and analyzed using ANCOVA's Nonparametric Quade to control for covariate variables under unnormally distributed data conditions. The results of the study show that the ecological environment condition of the campus has a significant effect on the ecological citizenship of students contribution of 47.9%. However, after covariate control, there was no significant difference in the level of ecological citizenship between cities. In addition, the influence of the campus ecological environment has proven to be consistent across various regional contexts. ANCOVA's Quade Nonparametric approach also shows that ranking adjustments result in more stable estimates in the analysis of nonparametric data. The conclusion of this study confirms that the ecological environment of the campus is the main factor in forming student ecological citizenship, while geographical factors do not show a significant role after being controlled. This research makes an empirical and methodological contribution to the study of sustainability education in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing Moodle-based ruangips.com platform on learning motivation and social studies learning outcomes of grade XI students at SMK Ar-Roudhoh Beji Pasuruan. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all 41 grade XI students divided into two classes: the Multimedia class (n=21) as the experimental group and the Computer and Network Engineering class (n=20) as the control group. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire (30 items, α=0.89) and an achievement test (40 multiple-choice items, r₁₁=0.87). Data were analyzed using Independent Sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. Results showed: (1) there was a significant difference in learning motivation between experimental and control groups (t=4.712; p<0.05); (2) there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups (t=5.083; p<0.05); (3) the N-Gain of the experimental group was in the high category (g=0.72) while the control group was in the medium category (g=0.41). These findings imply that the Moodle-based ruangips.com platform is effective in improving IPS motivation and learning outcomes, and supports 21st century competency (4C) development in vocational students.

Abstract

The annual Super Garuda Shield exercises have developed from a U.S.–Indonesia bilateral engagement into a recurrent multinational event that, by the mid-2020s, convened thousands of personnel and a widening circle of participating and observing states across multiple domains of training. Official communications surrounding the exercises repeatedly frame cooperation in terms of sovereignty, interoperability, partnership, and a “free and open Indo-Pacific,” positioning Super Garuda Shield as a productive site for examining how security cooperation is narrated as a norm-governed community rather than merely an instrument of capability building. It employs a longitudinal qualitative discourse analysis grounded in social constructivism, supplemented by the norm life cycle model and security community theory. The analysis identifies three empirical trajectories: a shift from bilateral to group-referential identity language across exercise iterations; the stabilization of interoperability as an uncontested procedural norm; and the progressive routinization of 'free and open Indo-Pacific' framing from advocacy toward taken-for-granted vocabulary, consistent with (Finnemore and Sikkink 1998)'s cascade and internalization stages. The discussion argues that repeated exercise participation functions as a socialization mechanism that generates “thin” but politically consequential expectations of cooperative security accounting for participation patterns and rhetorical convergence that neorealist and institutionalist frameworks leave underdetermined (USINDOPACOM 2025).
