Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at Tarbiyatul Banin 19 Salatiga Islamic Kindergarten in forming Pancasila students in childhood education. It uses descriptive qualitative methods, with data collected through interviews with the principal and teachers, classroom observations, and document analysis related to the Merdeka Curriculum. Data were analyzed using Mile and Huberman’s approach, which involves data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the supporting factors for implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at TK Tarbiyatul Banin 19 include the availability of clear curriculum guidelines, adequate media and educational tools (APE), and positive support from parents and the surrounding society. In addition, student participation in daily activities at school helps shape the Pancasila student profile. However, implementing this curriculum also faces challenges, such as teachers' limited experience in applying the Merdeka Curriculum and differences in teachers' understanding of the concrete application of the Pancasila character. This research emphasizes the essentiality of enhancing teacher capacity and fostering collaboration between schools, families, and communities to reinforce the development of the Pancasila profile in early childhood education.

Abstract

Cognitive ability is one of the important aspects that must be developed because thinking ability is the intelligence needed by children in order to develop knowledge about various things, both in solving problems and in understanding objects, events, and the environment. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the collaborative learning model in enhancing the cognitive abilities of early childhood students in Group B at Neo Genesis Kindergarten. A varied and diverse learning model is one way to improve children's cognitive abilities, and this study was conducted to determine the improvement of cognitive abilities of Group B children at Neo Genesis Kindergarten through the application of collaborative learning models. The process of implementing research activities was carried out in 2 cycles, using observation sheets and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the research that has been carried out can be seen in the increase in the percentage of children's completeness at the initial observation stage of 20%, in Cycle I the percentage increased to 45%, and in Cycle II the percentage of children's cognitive abilities increased again to 85%. In addition, the initial observation found several obstacles related to children's cognitive abilities, namely: children still have difficulty in classifying objects (based on colour, shape, and size), arranging and combining pictures, sorting numbers, and distinguishing the size of objects. Based on these data, it can be said that the application of collaborative learning models can improve the cognitive abilities of Group B children at Neo Genesis Kindergarten.

Abstract

Emotional development in children is a major factor that influences their attitudes, values, and behavior in the future. This development aspect requires special attention because it must be fostered from the beginning. This study aims to create a product that can be used as a means in the learning process, namely "Slingshot Ball," which is designed to support the emotional development of early childhood and act as an educational game media; this study was conducted on early childhood group A at Cempaka Kindergarten, with a total of 25 participants aged 4-5 years. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), following the steps Borg and Gall developed through structured stages. Based on the evaluation of media experts, Slingshot Ball scored 35 with an average of 4, which is included in the "very good" category. (26.17 <X ≤ 32.63). Meanwhile, the assessment of material experts showed that the Slingshot Ball media scored 28 with an average of 4.3, which is included in the "good" category (23.76 <X ≤ 29.28). Group trials show that this media is efficient and falls into the "very developed" category in encouraging the emotional progress of early childhood, with a score of 90%. Therefore, the Slingshot Ball media is worthy of being used by educators as an interactive learning tool to support the emotional development of early childhood.

Abstract

Inclusive early childhood education (ECED) ensures all children, including those with special needs, have access to a safe learning environment. This study examines the implementation of safety policies in inclusive ECED institutions in Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru using a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observations, following stages of participant selection, interviews, transcription, coding, theme development, and interpretation. Findings indicate that while safety policies are implemented, challenges remain in infrastructure, teacher training, and community awareness. Limited resources, inadequate facilities, and low parental understanding hinder inclusivity. However, teacher training and policy adaptation have improved inclusive practices. To enhance implementation, stronger government support is needed in funding, regulations, and public awareness. Key recommendations include (1) allocating budgets for inclusive infrastructure, (2) mandating specialized teacher training, (3) integrating community engagement programs, and (4) establishing monitoring mechanisms. These measures can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Instilling anti-violence values is important to be done from an early age. This study aims to analyze educators' strategies in instilling anti-violence values in early childhood in Al-Kautsar Kindergarten, Samarinda. This research uses a qualitative method of case study research, through observation, interviews, and documentation. This research involved 2 educators and 10 students. The results of the study showed that educators applied three main strategies: audio-visual media in the form of educational videos, storytelling methods using picture storybooks, and positive habituation that was applied repeatedly. These three strategies are effective in building children's character to avoid violent behavior, both verbal and physical.  Educators act as facilitators, guides, and role models who create a conducive learning environment and provide examples of positive behavior. These strategies not only increase children's awareness of anti-violence values but also form sustainable positive habits in daily life. Educators' strategies are important in instilling anti-violence values in children and it is hoped that this research can be a reference in instilling anti-violence values in early childhood.

Abstract

Early childhood numerical skills are a significant factor in academic readiness. A traditional game-based approach is an effective strategy for engagingly enhancing numerical skills. This study explores using traditional games to support the numerical development of 5-6-year-old children at RA Daarul Muqimien. A qualitative and case study approach was employed to collect data through interviews, observations, and documentation. The participants of this study consisted of three teachers, three parents and three children. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis techniques to identify emerging patterns. The results showed that traditional games such as Snakes and Ladders, Congklak, and Engklek were used to improve number recognition, addition, subtraction, and forward and backward counting. In addition, these games contribute positively to children’s cognitive, social and motor development. Teachers play a role in adapting the games, while parents support them through guidance at home. The game promotes social interaction and cooperation among children. While there are challenges, such as limited focus and mentoring time, this approach facilitates an engaging learning experience. This research contributes to developing traditional game-based numerical learning methods with adaptations that address children’s needs.

Abstract

Early childhood health literacy is an important skill that supports the formation of healthy living habits from an early age. However, health literacy learning is often less attractive to children because it is delivered passively. This research aims to develop a prototype of an interactive educational Game specifically designed to improve early childhood health literacy. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (Branch, 2009). This study focuses on the Development stage, which includes a needs analysis through interviews with three early childhood education teachers, one pediatrician (as early childhood and health literacy expert), and one IT specialist (as game prototype development expert). The results of the study show that relevant health literacy themes include personal hygiene, healthy diet, and physical activity. The Game prototype "Clean and Healthy Adventure with Vivi and Vito" is designed with four interactive levels that use simple visual and narrative elements. Early validation by one IT expert showed the Game was exciting and suitable for early childhood with a few minor tweaks. The prototype is ready to be further tested to measure its effectiveness as an innovative and interactive and fun learning medium.

Abstract

This study applied a behavior modification strategy using the token economy method to reduce aggressive behavior in children within the classroom. The primary objective of this intervention was to gradually decrease undesirable behaviors while promoting expected behaviors through a reinforcement system based on tokens, which could be exchanged for rewards preferred by the children. This study employed a single-case experimental design with an A-B-A' framework, consisting of three phases: baseline phase (A), intervention phase (B), and follow-up phase (A'). Data collection was conducted using the Aggressive Behavior Diagnosis instrument, observation, and semi-structured interviews. Data analysis was performed using within-condition analysis and between-condition analysis approaches. The results indicated that implementing behavior modification through the token economy method contributed to the development of more positive learning behaviors, where children were able to complete tasks independently without constant supervision from the teacher. These findings suggest that the token economy method is effective in reducing children's aggressive behavior during classroom learning activities.
