Abstract

Poverty is a serious problem facing Indonesia, including Sibolga City, and can have widespread socio-economic impacts if not addressed appropriately. The Family Hope Program (PKH), a government policy, aims to reduce poverty through conditional social assistance focused on improving access to education, health, and the social welfare of poor families. This study aims to determine how PKH is implemented in poverty reduction in Sibolga City. This study examines the policy's dimensions and objectives, resources, implementing agent characteristics, inter-organizational communication, implementer attitudes, and the social, economic, and political environment surrounding program implementation.  This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a field study approach that included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, including PKH coordinators, facilitators, and beneficiary communities. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain a picture of PKH program implementation at the local level and the challenges encountered. The results indicate that PKH implementation in Sibolga City has been running according to the program's objectives: helping improve the socio-economic conditions of poor families through education and health, and reducing household expenditures. The human resources involved in implementing the program are adequately qualified, having received training from the Ministry of Social Affairs, while funding comes from the state budget. Communication between implementers is effective through regular coordination meetings. Challenges encountered include beneficiary mobility and limited capacity of facilitators. Overall, the Family Hope Program (PKH) plays a significant role in poverty alleviation and improving the quality of life of the poor in Sibolga City.

Abstract

The marsipulut tradition in Rao-rao Lombang Village, Mandailing Natal, represents a manifestation of local wisdom that plays an important role in the marpokat or pre-marital deliberation process. This study examines the role of marsipulut as a cultural symbol as well as the socio-cultural values embedded within it. Marsipulut, a dish made of glutinous rice mixed with grated coconut and palm sugar, is not only regarded as a traditional delicacy but also as a representation of togetherness, respect, and commitment among families involved in the marriage agreement process. A qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach was employed, involving participatory observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders and community figures, and the analysis of local documents. The findings reveal that marsipulut functions as a medium of symbolic communication that reinforces social structure, fosters solidarity, and codifies norms related to etiquette and responsibility in the pre-marital stages. Furthermore, the marsipulut serving ceremony affirms the boundaries of local cultural identity amid socio-cultural changes. The study recommends preserving the marsipulut practice through cultural education and documentation to ensure the continuity of cultural values that sustain social cohesion in Rao-Rao Lombang. This research contributes to the development of local anthropological studies and cultural policy by providing empirical evidence of the relationship between the materiality of ritual food and the structure of values. Further studies are suggested to explore intergenerational dynamics and the impact of modernization on marsipulut practices for more adaptive preservation strategies.

Abstract

This article discusses activities to strengthen religious moderation through socialization and education carried out by Group 41 Community Service Program (KKN) students from the Mandailing Natal State Islamic College at the Madrasah Islamiyah in Angin Barat Village, Mandailing Natal. This activity aims to increase students' understanding of the values of religious moderation and prevent the emergence of radicalism from an early age. The research used a qualitative approach with participatory methods through interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and role plays. A total of 35 male and female students from grades II, III, and IV were actively involved in the learning process. The results of the study showed a significant increase in cognitive aspects, as seen from the students' increased understanding of the concept of moderation, as well as affective changes in the form of more tolerant, inclusive, and critical attitudes towards digital content with radical potential. In addition, the role of teachers as facilitators and the emergence of peer learning initiatives among students were important factors in strengthening the internalization of moderate values. However, the limited duration of the implementation, which was only one day, and the simple learning tools limited the depth of the intervention. This study concludes that strengthening religious moderation based on participatory practices is effective as a preventive strategy against radicalism in madrasahs and needs to be integrated continuously into education programs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the communication patterns formed within the Bismania community on Facebook and to explore how interactions between bus enthusiasts and bus companies (Perusahaan Otobus/PO) are constructed through social media. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation of interactions in five major Facebook groups related to Bismania and in-depth interviews with 25 informants, consisting of group administrators and active members. The analysis employed three theoretical frameworks: Uses and Gratifications to explain members’ motivations in using social media, Dialogic Communication Theory to analyze communication practices of bus companies, and Media Affordances to understand how Facebook’s technical features shape interaction dynamics. The findings indicate that the Bismania community serves not only as a space for entertainment and information exchange but also as a digital public that articulates criticism, appreciation, and advocacy toward public transportation services. However, bus companies tend to adopt a top-down communication style and have not fully implemented dialogic practices. These findings highlight the strategic role of transport-related digital fan communities in shaping public opinion, collective identity, and trust toward companies

Abstract

The role of Public relations has significantly shifted with the advancement of digital technology. The primary function of Public relations in building a corporate image has evolved into Cyber Public relations, which utilizes digital platforms. The Asian Post employs its website and Instagram to establish a positive image. As a relatively new media outlet, The Asian Post faces challenges in increasing audience traffic and gaining recognition amid competition with more established platforms. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews and image documentation. The analysis is based on Heath’s (2013) eight elements of Cyber Public relations. The purpose of this research is to explore how The Asian Post implements Cyber Public relations through the elements of Message, User Access, Electronic Publishing, Sharing Opinions and Suggestions, Networking, Collaboration, Instructions, and User Engagement in building a positive image. The findings show that The Asian Post applies Cyber Public relations strategies to enhance its image as a credible digital news platform. Messages are delivered through its website and Instagram, emphasizing data accuracy. User access is optimized through website navigation and Instagram features such as hashtags, highlights, and stories. Electronic publishing is carried out through an e-magazine released quarterly. Opinion sharing occurs through interactive content, although comment interaction remains low. Networking is strengthened through participation in digital communities and collaborations with various partners, including Jazz Gunung and Exco PSSI. Instructional content is provided through educational videos and live streaming discussing political and economic issues. User engagement is fostered through quizzes and promotional content that encourage audience participation.

Abstract

In the digital era, Cyber Public Relations is a key strategy to strengthen brand image through social media and digital platforms. This study aims to describe how Nadjani Indonesia, a local Muslim fashion brand, implements Cyber Public Relations and to identify its challenges and opportunities. A qualitative descriptive method was applied through in-depth interviews with the brand owner, PR staff, and loyal consumers, supported by documentation and observation, and validated through source triangulation. Referring to Phillips and Young’s (2009) framework—transparency, internet porosity, the internet as an agent, and richness in content and reach—the results show that Nadjani uses Instagram, TikTok, and its official website to provide transparent information, expand content reach, and engage with audiences. However, the low audience engagement rate (tingkat keterlibatan) remains an obstacle despite increasing followers. The study suggests interactive strategies such as consumer-generated content and influencer collaboration to enhance engagement and strengthen brand reputation. These findings contribute theoretically by reinforcing Cyber Public Relations concepts and practically by offering insights for digital branding in the Muslim fashion industry.

Abstract

The roof structure of the Islamic Center Jambi building was initially planned entirely with Wide Flange (WF) steel. However, due to time limitations and tower crane capacity, stages 2–4 were redesigned into a Space Frame system to accelerate construction. This study aimed to analyze the cost and time comparison between a full WF structure (stages 1–4) and a WF–Space Frame combination (WF stage 1, Space Frame stages 2–4). Cost analysis was based on the 2023 Public Works Unit Price Analysis (AHSP), while scheduling was evaluated using the Critical Path Method (CPM). Results showed that the WF–Space Frame combination reduced costs by 11.989% (IDR 35.308 billion vs. 40.118 billion) and shortened project duration by 64 days (348 vs. 412). Therefore, the WF–Space Frame system proved more efficient in both cost and time, making it a more optimal alternative.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of responsiveness and accountability of the PANDAWA service (Administrative Services via WhatsApp) on the satisfaction of BPJS Health users in Bandar Lampung City. The main focus of this study is to determine the extent to which these two variables, both partially and simultaneously, contribute to the level of satisfaction of digital service users of BPJS Health. According to Zeithaml and colleagues, the dimension of responsiveness has several important indicators. The ability to serve each user who needs services quickly and accurately, ensuring that services are delivered on time, and responding to all user complaints are included in these indicators. The research method used is a quantitative approach with the distribution of questionnaires to 400 respondents selected using Slovin's formula from a total population of 1,071,331 people. The data analysis technique was carried out using SPSS 25 software. The research results indicate that the responsiveness of PANDAWA services has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction (t calculated = 10.887; sig. = 0.000), as does service accountability (t calculated = 7.635; sig. = 0.000). Simultaneously, responsiveness and accountability together also have a significant effect on user satisfaction (F calculated = 245.916; sig. = 0.000). The implications of these findings suggest that improving the quality of responsiveness and accountability simultaneously is very important to create a satisfying service experience for the public. Therefore, BPJS Kesehatan needs to continue optimizing both aspects in order to enhance effectiveness and satisfaction in PANDAWA's digital services.

Abstract

The registration process for village head candidates at the Department of Community Empowerment and Village (DPMD) of Banyuwangi Regency has so far been carried out manually, which can lead to various issues such as delays in document submission, data entry errors, and low service efficiency. This study aims to design a web-based registration system that facilitates the registration process online, making it more effective and transparent. The methodology used in this system design includes data collection through observation and interviews, system requirements analysis, system modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML), and user interface (UI) design. The system is designed for two main user types: administrators and applicants. Administrators are responsible for verifying and managing applicant data, while users (village head candidates) can register, fill out forms, and upload documents online. The result of this design is a prototype of an information system for village head candidate registration, which includes features such as login, registration, account management, document upload, user dashboard, and activity logs. The implementation of this system is expected to make the registration process faster, more accurate, and to support transparency and accountability in the village head election process.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth description of digital-based educational service management at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati, covering both academic and non-academic aspects. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, teachers, administrative staff, and school operators. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that digital service management at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati is implemented systematically through stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. In the academic aspect, programs such as ASBK, UASBK, and the digital library operate effectively through structured task organization based on official decrees and the use of e-learning platforms. Meanwhile, non-academic services such as Dapodik, ARKAS, and Online Student Admission enhance administrative efficiency. The main challenge lies in teachers’ adaptation to technology; however, the school’s support through continuous training, technical assistance, and the provision of classroom operators has successfully improved digital competence and the overall effectiveness of digital-based educational service management.
