Abstract

The women’s Community role in driving family participation and economic welfare through the Cemara Waste Bank in Sumberejo Village is the focus of this study. The increasing volume of waste in Batu City, which exceeds 100 tons per day, alongside low community awareness of sustainable waste management, provides the backdrop for this research. Since 2019, the PKK mothers initiated the Cemara Waste Bank as a community-based initiative combining environmental management with women's economic empowerment. This study employed a case study design and a qualitative methodology. In-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation including administrators, current clients, and the village administration were used to gather data. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that the women's community plays a pivotal role in mobilizing family participation through direct outreach, social media communication, habituation of waste sorting at the household level, and facilitation of a simple waste savings system. Economic benefits—such as waste savings disbursed before Eid al-Fitr—are a key factor sustaining participation. Supporting factors include community solidarity, PKK institutional backing, and government support. Obstacles include the double burden on women, limited male involvement, and insufficient facilities. Strengthened local government support and continuous community capacity building are needed for the program to continue contributing to family economic welfare and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The Mass-based non-academic extracurricular activities are often considered prone to friction if not managed with an appropriate management approach. This study aims to analyze the implementation of strategic management in Bhawikarsu Supporter Leadership (BSL) by SMAN 3 Kota Malang as a collective effort to maintain the Supporter of the Year title in the Developmental Basketball League (DBL). This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results show that BSL's success in maintaining achievement for 15 consecutive years is achieved through six integrated strategic management stages: aligning vision and mission with school policy, setting character-building targets, formulating strategy based on internal-external mapping, developing work programs and risk mitigation, managing specialized resources, and implementing multi-tiered monitoring and multidimensional evaluation controlling student academic discipline. This model proves that student supporter mass energy can be effectively transformed into an achievement-oriented leadership platform through directed autonomy and consistent institutional support.

Abstract

Deafness is a hearing loss condition that affects not only auditory function but also various aspects of child development. This study aims to analyze the impact of deafness on language, cognitive, and psychological development based on a systematic literature review. The method used is a qualitative approach with content analysis of 15 scientific articles published between 2016 and 2025. The results show that communication barriers are the primary factor causing delays in language acquisition, difficulties in abstract thinking and verbal problem-solving, and increased vulnerability to psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Compared to typically developing children, deaf children face higher risks of social isolation and limited peer interaction. However, inclusive educational environments, the use of visual learning media, and consistent psychological support have been proven effective in reducing these barriers. These interventions are particularly beneficial in developing non-verbal academic and social skills. The study concludes that deafness requires a holistic, cross-sectoral approach involving educators, families, and communities to optimize developmental outcomes and improve the overall quality of life for deaf children. The abstract contains 150-200 words and consists of only 1 paragraph, which contains the background, objectives, methods, and results of the research.

Abstract

Children with autism have impairments in their neurological system, which affect the development of both verbal and non-verbal communication and subsequently impact the learning methods applied to them. This poses a challenge for schools and teachers in providing appropriate methods. Learning must be provided to all children, including science, which requires complex understanding. Therefore, determining learning media or methods for science requires well-structured material division that adapts to the characteristics of children with autism so that learning can proceed optimally. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of animated video media in science learning for children with autism. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, employing participant observation and interviews as data collection techniques. The subjects of this study consist of two teachers, selected using purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that the application of animated video media in science learning for children with autism is able to increase children's interest in learning due to the combination and variation of colors, sounds, and images. Nevertheless, teachers also assessed that the application of animated video media would be more effective when taking into account the conditions and characteristics of each child with autism.

Abstract

English learning for young children requires materials that are appropriate not only for classroom instruction but also for interaction in family settings. This study aimed to identify parents’ needs and preferences regarding English picture storybooks for children aged 6–7 and to derive design implications for family-based English literacy materials. A descriptive survey was positioned as the needs-analysis stage of a broader research and development project. Ten parents of children aged 6–7 were represented in the working dataset. Data were organized around parents’ difficulties, reading practices, language needs, visual and physical preferences, story themes, and supporting activities. The documented preliminary finding showed that 80% of the parents experienced difficulty finding English books suitable for beginners, practical and economical, and comfortable for parent-child interaction. The simulated item-level analysis further indicated high importance for age-appropriate content, illustrations that support comprehension, simple language, readable text, comfortable shared use, and affordable materials. A6 landscape was the most frequently selected format, while animal, adventure, and everyday-life stories were among the most preferred themes. The findings provide a needs-based foundation for the subsequent development of an A6 English picture-storybook series.

Abstract

Facilities and infrastructure are crucial components in supporting Natural Science (IPA) education in primary schools, which emphasizes hands-on experience, observation, exploration, and practical activities. This study aims to analyze the condition and utilization of science learning facilities and infrastructure and their implications for the learning process at SDN 1 Plosorejo. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observations, interviews with the Grade VI teacher, student questionnaires, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation by comparing findings from observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results indicate several limitations, particularly the lack of adequate practical rooms or science laboratories, limited teaching aids, and internet connectivity issues affecting digital media use. Teachers have implemented adaptive strategies by utilizing Smart TVs, videos, visual images, the surrounding environment, and simple teaching aids. These limitations restrict opportunities for students to engage in practical activities, conduct direct observations, and gain concrete learning experiences. However, visual media and interactive activities show positive effects on student engagement and enthusiasm. The findings demonstrate that facility support depends not only on availability but also on condition, accessibility, and teachers’ ability to utilize facilities effectively ]\according to instructional needs. Therefore, improving science education requires planned procurement and maintenance of facilities and optimizing their use by teachers.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the effectiveness of learning strategies based on experiential learning and emotional and motivational support in enhancing the learning effectiveness of visually impaired children in inclusive schools. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by examining ten academic articles published between 2022 and 2025 that focus on the education of children with special needs. The analysis revealed that visual impairments cause visually impaired children to face barriers in understanding abstract concepts presented visually, so they require concrete experiences to fully grasp the learning material. Experiential learning strategies have proven effective because they enable children to learn through tactile, auditory, and kinesthetic activities that stimulate cognitive processes and enhance active engagement. Furthermore, emotional support from teachers—in the form of empathy, psychological support, and positive reinforcement—plays a crucial role in building students’ self-confidence and intrinsic motivation. The synergy between concrete experiences and emotional support results in more meaningful and humanistic learning that focuses not only on academic outcomes but also on the psychological well-being of visually impaired children. This study underscores the importance of the teacher’s role as a facilitator who understands students’ emotional needs and individual learning characteristics. Further research is recommended to test the effectiveness of these strategies through an empirical approach in inclusive schools to obtain practical data that supports the development of adaptive learning models for students with visual impairments.
