Abstract

Poverty in South Banyuwangi is often rooted in limited access to productive capital. This study aims to explore the contribution of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Genteng in empowering the micro economy to alleviate poverty. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through observations and in-depth interviews with BSI management and customers. The results indicate that BSI Genteng plays a strategic role by distributing Sharia People's Business Credit (KUR) financing under an inclusive Murabahah contract for underbanked businesses. This capital strengthening not only increases customers' real income but is also accompanied by spiritual and managerial mentoring that strengthens business resilience. In conclusion, BSI's intervention is effective in breaking dependence on informal financing and encouraging the economic transformation of mustahik (beneficiaries) into self-reliance. This research contribution strengthens the theory of social intermediation and provides practical guidance for Islamic banks in aligning operational standards with local wisdom to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to address the main questions of how psychology-based student management is implemented at MAN 2 Banyuwangi, its role in strengthening students’ learning motivation and academic achievement, and the factors that hinder its implementation. The study is positioned within the field of educational management, emphasizing the integration of educational psychology approaches in student management practices at a public Islamic senior high school. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for student affairs, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students, and were reinforced by observations and document analysis. The data were analyzed descriptively using the interactive analysis model proposed by Miles and Huberman. Data trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that psychology-based student management is implemented in an integrated manner through psychological assessment from the student admission process, preventive and developmental guidance and counseling services, personal mentoring by homeroom teachers, and collaboration among educational stakeholders. These strategies significantly contribute to fulfilling students’ basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) which in turn enhance learning motivation and academic achievement. However, the implementation faces several challenges, including the limited number of guidance and counseling teachers, administrative workload, limited service time, and varying levels of family support.

Abstract

Inclusive education for early childhood is a strategic effort to guarantee the right of every child to obtain fair, quality, and non-discriminatory educational services, including for children with special needs. This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive education in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) units, particularly in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of child-friendly and non-discriminatory learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects included the head of the PAUD unit, educators, and parents of students, while data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of inclusive education in PAUD has been carried out through the application of differentiated learning, curriculum adjustments, the use of flexible play strategies, educator competence, collaboration with parents and experts, and the availability of complete and inclusive facilities and infrastructure. This study concludes that the success of inclusive education in early childhood is largely determined by the readiness of the institution to accommodate the diverse needs of students, educator competence, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and synergy with parents and related parties/experts.

Abstract

Inclusive human development emphasizes not only economic capacity or individual skills, but also the quality of social relations, inclusive attitudes, and the ability to live together in diversity. Amidst rising intolerance, identity conflicts, and weakening social solidarity, Islamic education has strategic potential as a social institution that shapes social character based on the values of justice, empathy, tolerance, ukhuwah (brotherhood), deliberation, and social responsibility. This study aims to synthesize academic literature related to the role of Islamic education in shaping social character and its contribution to inclusive human development. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with descriptive-qualitative analysis of 12 recent studies in the 2016–2026 period from reputable national and international journals and research reports. The results show that Islamic education is capable of internalizing moral and social values through curriculum, social interaction, and institutional culture, as well as developing social capabilities such as empathy, cooperation, and appreciation for diversity. However, the application of social values is often limited to passive tolerance and normative approaches, so that active involvement in social justice is not yet optimal. These findings emphasize the need to reposition Islamic education from merely shaping individual piety to building an inclusive, civilized collective social character oriented towards substantive social solidarity, while also providing conceptual guidance for the development of Islamic education policies and practices.

Abstract

The digital era has birthed a new phenomenon in religious practices: performing the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage on foot while broadcasting the journey through live streaming on social media platforms like TikTok. This phenomenon is often accompanied by online donation solicitations from viewers, triggering public controversy and the label of "digital begging." This research aims to analyze this phenomenon from an Islamic law perspective, specifically regarding its relevance to the concept of istitha’ah (capability) as a mandatory requirement for Hajj, while also examining the dimensions of worship ethics in the digital space. This study employs a qualitative approach with a juridical-normative method and library research. Data are analyzed by referring to classical and contemporary fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) literature concerning the requirements of Hajj and digital muamalah ethics. Findings: The results indicate that the practice of traveling to the Baitullah by relying on social media donations does not meet the criteria for independent financial istitha’ah according to the majority of scholars. Furthermore, such actions potentially reduce the essence of the sanctity of worship, as they are susceptible to elements of riya’ (showing off), sum’ah (seeking popularity), and the exploitation of religious symbols for personal material gain. This article concludes that while technology provides new spaces for expression, a sincere and pure intention remains the fundamental basis of Islamic law in performing Hajj. Massive religious education is necessary to enhance digital ethical awareness so that the sanctity of worship remains preserved amidst the tides of modernity.

Abstract

This study explores Islamic eco-theology as a lived religious experience shaped through women’s leadership in Pesantren Ekologi Ath-Thaariq, Indonesia. In the context of escalating global ecological crises, religious institutions increasingly integrate environmental ethics into everyday religious practices. This research focuses on how women religious leaders construct, articulate, and legitimize eco-theological values within the pesantren community. Employing a qualitative approach, the study uses a case study method based on in-depth interviews and qualitative analysis of digital documents and the pesantren’s official website. The findings indicate that Islamic eco-theology in Pesantren Ekologi Ath-Thaariq is expressed not merely as theological discourse but as lived religious practice manifested through narratives of ecological care, sustainable farming, and moral education. Women’s leadership plays a central role in connecting ecological awareness with Islamic ethical commitments and communal responsibility. This study concludes that women’s religious leadership significantly contributes to the social construction of Islamic eco-theology, positioning pesantren as an important site for ethical and ecological engagement in contemporary Muslim society

Abstract

This research is motivated by the still strong traditional understanding in the Book of Fathul Mu'in regarding the concept of wali mujbir which gives full authority to the wali to marry his daughter without consent, on the grounds of maintaining the honor and benefit of the family. However, in the context of contemporary Islamic family law, this interpretation raises the issue of gender justice because it has the potential to negate women's right to freedom of choice of life partner. Therefore, this study aims to reconstruct the concept of wali mujbir so that it is in line with the values of maqasid al-shari'ah, especially the principles of justice (al-'adl), equality (al-musawah), and benefit (al-maslaḥah). The method used is qualitative research with a normative-hermeneutic approach, namely examining the classical fiqh text of Fathul Mu'in contextually. The data collection technique is carried out through library research by studying, identifying, and analyzing these legal sources systematically. Meanwhile, data analysis uses content analysis and maqasid-based interpretation methods and analyzes its relevance to the development of Islamic legal thought and modern gender justice theory. The results of the study show that the right of ijbar in guardianship is not an absolute authority, but a moral responsibility that must consider the willingness (ridha) and benefit of the bride-to-be. This reconstruction affirms the importance of a guardianship that is fair, egalitarian, and respectful of women's rights as a form of Islamic family law reform that is responsive to the values of social justice and gender equality.
