Abstract

Background : Nasal Index is one of the anthropometric parameters of the nose. Many studies have established the applicability of nasal index to categorize racial, gender and age variations. However, there are still few studies that have determined whether physiological differences are associated with variations in nasal index. The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between nasal index with nasal respiratory function. Method : This research is a systematic review. The sources of databases used are Pubmed, Proquest, Science Direct, and BMC in the 2012-2022 period. Articles are selected based on predetermined eligibility criteria. The primary articles identified were screened using the PRISMA method, resulting in 10 studies included in the systematic review. Result : 4 out of 10 studies stated that nasal morphology generally affects nasal respiratory function. 3 studies found an association between nasal index and nasal air condition regulation, and 1 study found an association between nasal index and airflow and nasal resistance. The other 6 studies explained that there was no relationship between nasal index and nasal respiratory function, either in differences in airflow and nasal resistance or in the regulation of nasal air conditions. Conclusion : There is no significant relationship between nasal index and nasal respiratory function.

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a new onset of hypertensive disorder that occurs after 20 weeks of gestation. Based on the degree of severity, preeclampsia is divided into two categories: mild preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia. Patients with severe preeclampsia can have some complications, one of them is HELLP syndrome (haemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet count). HELLP syndrome can further affect maternal mortality and morbidity rates.  Objective: This study aims to determine whether there are differences in maternal outcomes in severe preeclampsia with HELLP syndrome and severe preeclampsia without HELLP syndrome. Methods: The type of this research is observational analytic with a case-control approach using data from medical records. This research was conducted in July 2022–January 2023 at Dr. M. Djamil Padang Hospital. The samples were selected using simple random sampling technique and obtained a total of 78 samples. obtained. Bivariate analysis in this study was conducted using Chi-square test. Results: Patients with severe preeclampsia with and without HELLP syndrome were dominated by the low risk age group (20-35 years). Based on the number of pregnancies, the highest frequency was found in the multigravida group. The results of blood pressure and urine protein measurements in the two subjects were not much different. LDH and SGPT levels increased and platelet count decreased in severe preeclampsia with HELLP syndrome. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the maternal outcomes in severe preeclampsia with HELLP syndrome and severe preeclampsia without HELLP syndrome (p>0.05)

Abstract

Background: Risk factors that cause breast cancer have been a study related to racial, cultural, and socioeconomic factors. Therefore, breast cancer risk factors become important for prognosis and predictive in management.  Currently, biomolecular breast cancer is divided into several subtypes, namely Luminal A, Luminal B, HER-2 overexpressive, and Triple-negative breast cancer. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between risk factors and the types of molecular subtypes of breast cancer in Padang City. Method: The type of research is analytical with a cross-sectional design. The research took place from April to August 2022 at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang, RSI Ibnu Sina Padang, RSK Ropanasuri Padang and RSU Bunda BMC Padang. Results: The results showed that the most type of subtype was Luminal B (49.3%). Then, the type of TNBC (24.6%). Followed by HER-2 Overexpressive (11%). And the least is the type of Luminal A (10.1%). Most (89.9%) of patients were exposed to passive smoking. Most (87%) menopausal age is most at the age of under 50 years. Most (75.4%) have no family history of cancer. More than half (73.9%) did not use oral contraceptives for more than 12 months. More than half (72.5%) consumed fat and calories within normal limits. More than half (68.1%) were without sports activities. More than half (55.1%) of the age giving birth to their first child is found to be spanning the ages of 20 to 30 years. Almost half (47.8%) of breast cancer patients are obese. Based on the Chi-Square test and the Fisher test, showed that there was no association of risk factors with the type of molecular subtype. Conclusion: There is no relationship between risk factors and molecular subtypes of breast cancer in Padang City. Most types of molecular subtypes found Luminal B, followed by the type of TNBC, then HER-2 Overexpressive, and the least is Luminal A. The results of these findings are the same as other studies in Indonesia

Abstract

Background: Family planning is a government programme designed to address population needs and balance demographic pressures. It generally aims to regulate the number of births to reduce the risks associated with pregnancy. Contraception serves as a tool for managing pregnancy and controlling childbirth. Women’s participation in family planning programmes is influenced by both internal and external factors. Methods: This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional design, conducted at Puskesmas Alai, Kota Padang, with a total sample of 105 married women. The study utilized a questionnaire to assess internal and external factors related to women's involvement in the family planning programme. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: The results of this research indicate that the number of respondents who use contraception is greater than those who do not. Regarding internal factors, most respondents fall into the risk age group, have a high level of education, are not employed, possess a good level of knowledge, and have 0 to 2 children. For external factors, the majority of respondents receive support from their husbands, and more than half of the respondents have a low economic status. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant correlation between age, knowledge level, husband's support, and economic status with participation in the family planning programme. However, no significant correlation was found between education, occupation, and the number of children.
