Abstract

Madrasah is an Islamic educational institution, facing significant challenges in the era of global competition. The political dynamics that accompany the development of madrassas require a comprehensive study to understand the complexity of this institutional transformation process. This research aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities faced by madrasas in a global context, as well as explore effective development strategies. This study uses a qualitative approach to examine political dynamics in madrasah development and explore the challenges and opportunities it faces in global competition. The results of the study show that madrasas face the main challenges in quality standardization, curriculum relevance, competence of educators, and strengthening infrastructure. However, the global era also opens up opportunities for madrasas to integrate science with Islamic values, develop soft skills, and carry out international collaboration. Political dynamics in the development of madrassas involve complex negotiations between the demands of modernization and the preservation of Islamic identity. In conclusion, the development of madrassas in the face of global competition requires a holistic approach that considers political, social, and cultural dynamics. The success of madrasah transformation depends on the ability of stakeholders to manage challenges and strategically capitalize on opportunities. Madrasah has the unique potential to become an educational model that combines Islamic values with global competence, but its realization requires a clear vision and close collaboration between various parties.

Abstract

Driving teachers are learning leaders who are expected to be agents of change in student-centered education, by developing their potential holistically according to their learning needs. After going through education, driving teachers are expected to be able to implement their competencies through real action. However, there are indications that driving teachers only carry out concrete actions to fulfill the educational requirements for driving teachers. Therefore, researchers raised this issue to get an idea of ​​the role and contribution of driving teachers  in their competence as driving teachers in implementing the implementation of independent learning at SMKN 1 Barumun. This research aims to describe how the competency of driving teachers is implemented in implementing independent learning at SMKN 1 Barumun. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The objects discussed in this research are school principals and driving teachers. Data was collected through observation and interview techniques. The research results show that there are four roles of driving teachers in curriculum implementation. The four roles include: first, the driving teacher acts as a change agent; second, the driving teacher facilitates other teachers as creators of discussion and collaboration forums; third, the driving teacher acts as a motivator; and fourth, the driving teacher ensures a pleasant learning atmosphere. In conclusion, the driving teacher has implemented his competence in implementing independent learning, although consistency is still needed in its implementation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the politics of Islamic education during the Old Order by highlighting the role of ulama and Islamic education figures. This research uses a historical approach and qualitative analysis of various historical documents. This study found that Islamic scholars and educational figures have a significant influence in the development of Islamic educational curricula and institutions. They play a role in integrating Islamic values ​​with the national curriculum as well as establishing and managing Islamic educational institutions, such as Islamic boarding schools and madrasas. Research findings show that despite various obstacles, the contribution of Islamic scholars and educational figures during the Old Order era provided an important foundation for the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. Their role in this period became the forerunner for the transformation of the Islamic education system in the next era.

Abstract

This research explores the concept of democracy in education from a theoretical perspective and Islamic views. Educational democracy includes active participation of all parties in the educational process, critical development, and respect for diversity. In Islam, education plays a role in forming the character of individuals who have noble character and broad knowledge. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach through literature study. The research results show that democracy in education is in harmony with Islamic values ​​which prioritize justice, equality and social responsibility.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the enhancement of character education and its implications on Islamic education. Character education plays a crucial role in shaping a generation with noble character and integrity. Within the context of Islamic education, the instilled character values align with religious teachings that prioritize morals and ethics. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach to investigate relevant literature. The findings demonstrate that the strengthening of character education has a substantial impact on the development of Islamic education, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

This research examines the concept of the Islamic religious education curriculum in educational institutions in Indonesia. The Islamic religious education curriculum plays an important role in shaping students' moral and spiritual values, and preparing them to contribute positively to society. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods and in-depth interviews with educational experts and practitioners at Islamic educational institutions. The research results show that the concept of the Islamic religious education curriculum in Indonesia is designed not only to provide religious knowledge, but also to shape the character of students so that they are by Islamic values. However, this research also found several challenges in implementing the curriculum, such as a lack of integration between theory and practice, and limited educational resources and facilities. This research identifies several strategies to increase the effectiveness of the Islamic religious education curriculum, including developing learning modules that are more relevant to local contexts, improving the quality of teacher training, and utilizing technology in the learning process. This research concludes that developing a comprehensive and dynamic Islamic religious education curriculum is very important to answer the challenges of the times and support the creation of a generation with noble character and broad knowledge.

Abstract

This article reveals the strategies used by Akidah Akhlak teachers at MTs Mafatihul Huda Aek Batang Toru to improve the moral character (akhlakul karimah) of class VII students. This research highlights various effective approaches such as personal interaction, interactive teaching methods, role modeling, integration of moral values ​​in subjects, extracurricular activities, and spiritual formation. However, teachers face challenges such as time constraints, curriculum pressure, environmental influences, and limited resources. Collaboration between school stakeholders—teachers, parents, and the community—is crucial in shaping holistic character development. Continuous evaluation of character education programs ensures significant positive impacts for future generations. The importance of collaboration between schools, teachers, parents and the community in supporting student character formation is also a main focus, with ongoing evaluation of character education programs to ensure a significant positive impact for future generations.

Abstract

When it comes to education policy, the political situation is very important. The link between education and state politics is very strong because education educates its citizens to become useful and successful citizens.  Politics and education are two important components of the socio-political structure of every country, both developed and developing. Often considered as different parts that are not related to each other. Although both play an important role in the process of creating the characteristics of a national society. Public policy is a highly complex, political, and analytical process that has no beginning or end point. There are times when the complex combination of factors known as policymaking produces an outcome called a policy. The first step in policy making is to find a general area, conduct analysis, set targets, decide on areas of implementation, negotiate and consult on political and societal aspects, and finally produce and implement a final policy.  To avoid conflict and increase the chances of achieving organizational goals, effective policymaking involves agreeing on goals at all levels.

Abstract

The development of education in Indonesia continues to experience better progress. Various innovations have been developed aimed at improving the quality of education at various levels of education. One of the innovations put forward is an independent curriculum. This independent curriculum is also implemented at the Gunung Raya Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School, North Padanglawas Regency. Therefore, this research aims to determine the implementation of the independent curriculum at the Gunung Raya Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School, North Padanglawas Regency. The research was conducted using qualitative research. The research results found that the independent learning curriculum implemented included USBN and National Examination which were replaced with assessments and Arabic language immersion. Abstract

This article discusses the political challenges facing Indonesia in the post-reform democratic era. The main focus is on issues such as corruption, political polarization, the role of social media in shaping public opinion, and social movements. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, where data is obtained from various literature sources and case studies. The results show that corruption remains a systemic problem that hinders the development of democracy, while political polarization exacerbated by social media creates social tensions. Social media plays a dual role as a platform for political participation as well as the spread of disinformation. In addition, social movements show that civil society has significant power in influencing government policy. This article seeks to provide a comprehensive picture of Indonesia's current political dynamics and emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts to overcome these challenges in order to strengthen democracy in Indonesia.
