Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using digital phonics literacy media in improving the basic reading concept skills of second-grade students in Cluster 7, Seririt District. The research is motivated by the low initial reading ability of elementary school students, which is often caused by the limited availability of interactive and engaging learning media. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, utilizing a one–group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects were 26 students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a basic reading concept ability test given before and after the implementation of digital phonics literacy media. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests, with the assistance of SPSS version 29.0. The study's results showed an increase in students' reading ability, as indicated by a rise in the average score from 31.92 in the pretest to 72.81 in the posttest. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value <0.05, which indicates a significant difference between students' reading ability before and after treatment. Thus, it can be concluded that digital phonics literacy media are effective in improving the basic concepts of reading skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in Indonesia's national development by investing in high-quality, innovative, and morally upright human resources. The qualitative case study method employs observation, interviews with the principal, teachers, students/alumni, curriculum team, and document analysis including the School Education Curriculum (KSP) and evaluation reports. Research findings show that curriculum innovation management at SMKIT Ibnul Qayyim Makassar implements the vision "Hafizh Qur'an, Jago Komputer" to integrate Software Engineering (RPL) vocational education with Islamic values. This holistic approach combines mandatory Qur'an memorization (minimum 2.5 Juz), Sharia-compliant Teaching Factory (TEFA) such as IQIS Software Factory, 4-6 month Industrial Work Practice (PKL), Project Based Learning (PBL), and hidden curriculum elements like morning dhikr and Dhuha prayer. Management strategies encompass the cycle of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling, supported by industry partnerships (DUDI), parenting programs, as well as strengthening foreign languages and entrepreneurship. Findings demonstrate successful dual competency integration: RPL hard skills relevant to Industry 4.0 (certifications, real projects) and Islamic soft skills (integrity, discipline), recognized by DUDI as superior to other vocational school graduates. This innovation addresses curriculum-industry gaps. The conclusion affirms this model as a national reference for Islamic vocational schools, with recommendations to strengthen stakeholder collaboration for long-term impact. The research contributes to the Merdeka Curriculum and Indonesia's quality human resource development in the globalization era.

Abstract

Arabic language education at SMPIT Darul Fikri Makassar faces challenges with conventional assessments that lack interactivity, subjectivity, and fail to motivate Generation Z students, particularly in skills like qira'ah (reading), kitabah (writing), istima' (listening), and kalam (speaking). This study aims to develop a learning outcome assessment instrument based on the Hot Potatoes application using the simplified Borg and Gall Research and Development (R&D) model across eight stages: needs analysis, planning, prototype development, expert validation, revision, field testing, and final product. Primary data sources include Arabic teachers and 8th-grade students, with secondary sources like syllabi and lesson plans (RPP); data collection involved observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Results indicate the instrument has very high content validity (96.43%) from Arabic, educational evaluation, and media experts, plus empirical validity with 26 out of 30 items valid. Reliability reaches 0.87 (Cronbach’s Alpha, high category), balanced difficulty levels (63% moderate), and good item discrimination. Practicality is rated very high by teachers (95.83%) and students (87.62%), thanks to automatic scoring, instant feedback, and appealing design. Effectiveness testing shows pre-test (60.20) to post-test (80.20) improvement, raising mastery from 40.60% to 85.67%, with t-value 8.724 (p=0.000) and effective gain score. The instrument proves valid, reliable, practical, and effective in enhancing learning outcomes. Overall, this development offers an innovative digital assessment model for Arabic education in Islamic schools, supporting hybrid learning post-pandemic and student motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the gamification method on students' conceptual understanding of "Food Chain" topics within the IPAS subject (Natural and Social Sciences) at SD Muhammadiyah Parepare. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group design was employed. The population included all Muhammadiyah elementary schools in Parepare, while the sample was selected via purposive sampling, consisting of 35 fifth-grade students: 18 in the experimental group (Class V.B) and 17 in the control group (Class V.A). Data were collected through a validated 30-item multiple-choice test and analyzed using the Independent Samples T-Test. The results revealed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 (p < 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0​) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1​). It is concluded that the implementation of the gamification method significantly enhances students' conceptual understanding of food chain material. These findings suggest that gamification serves as an effective pedagogical tool to improve students achievement in elementary science education.

Abstract

In order to enhance third-grade students' scientific literacy during science classes, this project aims to develop and assess flipbook resources based on Tri Hita Karana. This research and development (R&D) project employed the ADDIE paradigm, which consists of phases for analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Third-grade instructors, 39 kids from Cluster V in the Busungbiu District, media specialists, language specialists, and material specialists made up the research subjects. Data was gathered using science literacy assessments, teacher response questionnaires, and validation sheets. For both qualitative and quantitative analysis, Lawshe's validity test (CVR and CVI), practicality percentage analysis, one-sample t-test, and effect size computation were employed. The study found that the flipbook medium was deemed genuine with a CVI score of 0.90 for the material aspect, 0.67 for language, and 0.56 for presentation. Additionally, with a 96.43% proportion, this media was deemed extremely practical and useful in enhancing scientific literacy, with an impact size of 1.314 and a significant value of 0.000 (highly effective category). Consequently, Tri Hita Karana-focused flipbooks might be utilized as a cutting-edge scientific teaching aid in primary school settings.

Abstract

This study is to find out whether there is an influence of the Project Based Learning model assisted by crossword puzzle media on the learning outcomes of Class V students of SDN 2 Nanga Man. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a One Group pretest and posttest experimental design. The sample consisted of 17 students. “The research instrument was in the form of multiple-choice questions (pretest and posttest), validated through Cronbach Alpha constructs and reliability. Data analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS 25 through the Normality Test (Shapiro-Wilk), and the Non-Parametric Test (Wilcoxon Signed-Rank). The results showed that the shapiro-wilk test for pretest data was 0.031, meaning that the pretest data was not normally distributed. Meanwhile, the posttest data has a significance value of 0.738, meaning that the posttest data is normally distributed. The results of the” Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test were obtained at -3,630 with a significance value of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between student learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Crossword Puzzle media.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of IPAS in grade V students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental design of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample amounted to 23 students who were determined using saturated sampling techniques. The research instrument was in the form of a multiple-choice test of 20 questions that had gone through a construct validity and reliability test with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.877. Data analysis was carried out through the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average pretest score of 53.91 increased to 75.43 in the posttest, with a difference of 21.52 points. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05) H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted, so there was a difference in learning outcomes before and after treatment. So, the conclusion is, the STEM approach assisted by Assemblr EDU media has an effect on improving the learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN 1 Ella Hilir

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament binaan Quizizz terhadap hasil belajar IPAS siswa kelas IV SDN 13 Nanga Pinoh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Satu Kelompok pra-eksperimental. Sampel terdiri dari 29 siswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen ini adalah tes pilihan ganda 20 item yang divalidasi dan andal. Data dianalisis menggunakan Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 43,27 menjadi 70,86. Nilai signifikansi 0,001 menunjukkan efek yang signifikan. Ukuran efek 1,98 dikategorikan sangat besar. Model ini secara efektif meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Kata kunci: Model TGT, Quizizz, hasil pembelajaran, IPAS

Abstract

The transformation of education in the 21st century requires prospective teachers to have competencies that are adaptive to the changing times, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy. This study aims to 1) analyze the relationship between the teaching methods applied in the primary teacher education Department at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) and the achievement of prospective teacher students' competencies in 21st-century skills; 2) identify the dominant learning paradigm and its impact on 21st-century skills; 3) map the level of student competency achievement in 21st-century skills and identify the factors that support and hinder the achievement of 21st-century skills. The research method used was a combination of quantitative and qualitative research (mixed method), with data collection using surveys and interviews, selected and implemented with consistency and accuracy. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistical techniques, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The research sample consisted of 250 students and 35 lecturers. The results of this study reveal that: the majority of the students teacher are at an intermediate level of competence in 21st-century skills; only a small proportion have reached an advanced level, and almost none have reached an expert level; there are variations in achievement between indicators; teaching methods and learning paradigms play a significant role in supporting or limiting these achievements; emotional support, self-reflection, and technology integration are aspects that need to be strengthened.

Abstract

Pemahaman matematika siswa sekolah dasar sering kali terjebak pada ranah prosedural tanpa dibarengi dengan pemahaman konseptual yang kuat. Penelitian lapangan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan secara mendalam karakteristik pemahaman instrumental siswa sekolah dasar dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika, khususnya pada materi Pecahan dan Teorema Pythagoras. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga orang siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk mewakili tiga kategori kemampuan berdasarkan hasil tes diagnostik, yaitu kemampuan tinggi (S-1), sedang (S-2), dan rendah (S-3). Data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen tes tertulis diagnostik dan wawancara klinis berbasis tugas yang telah divalidasi oleh para ahli. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik pemahaman instrumental yang bervariasi: S-1 mampu menyelesaikan komputasi dengan benar namun menunjukkan kekakuan konteks (context rigidity) saat orientasi visual soal diubah; S-2 sangat bergantung pada memori visual langkah prosedural sehingga memicu miskonsepsi akibat hafalan mekanis; sedangkan S-3 mengalami pencampuran prosedur (procedural mixing) akibat keterbatasan skema konseptual. Secara keseluruhan, siswa memahami aturan matematika tanpa mengetahui alasan logis di baliknya (rules without reasons). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya guru menekankan pendekatan konseptual melalui jembatan konkret-piktorial sebelum memperkenalkan simbol abstrak kepada siswa.
