Abstract

In multicultural societies like Indonesia, differences across various aspects indicate that each individual holds a unique perspective on diversity. These diverse viewpoints have the potential to lead to misunderstandings among ethnicities, religions, and cultures, which can result in conflicts. This study aims to analyze the integration of multicultural education in history learning. The research method employed is qualitative with a case study approach, involving informants selected through purposive sampling. Data collection includes observations, interviews, and documentation using interview sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis is conducted descriptively and qualitatively. The research findings indicate that multicultural integration in history learning strives to synchronize teaching methods by considering differences such as gender, social status, religion, race, and language. History teachers incorporate multicultural values like tolerance, pluralism, humanism, and democracy into their lessons. In conclusion, multicultural education is a crucial concept that history teachers must grasp to impart deep multicultural values to students, fostering a high level of tolerance in their communities and surroundings.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the epistemological contribution of Critical Theory in developing a more inclusive and just understanding of knowledge. The main focus is to examine the ways in which concepts such as double consciousness, situated knowledge, and critical reflexivity can help overcome biases and limitations in established knowledge narratives and open up space for alternative voices. The research method used is a literature review by identifying, selecting, analysing, and synthesising literature sources relevant to this topic. The results show that the concept of double consciousness introduced by W.E.B Du Bois places an important emphasis on recognising plural perspectives in knowledge production, especially from marginalised groups. Furthermore, situated knowledge proposed by Donna Haraway offers a solution to overcome bias by emphasising that knowledge is always situated in a particular social, cultural and political context. Finally, critical reflexivity is seen as an important practice to uncover the ideological and political interests hidden behind established knowledge narratives. This research recommends the need for further investigation on how these concepts can be operationalised in research and educational practices to create a more inclusive and transformative epistemology. In addition, empirical investigations on the impact of applying these concepts are also needed to understand the challenges and opportunities in the effort to develop more equitable and diverse knowledge.

Abstract

In recent years, many students have faced limitations in their career options, despite the critical importance of determining their future careers. This study aims to identify and analyze factors influencing students’ career choices at the high school level. The method employed is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis of three different students. The research findings indicate that several significant factors influence students’ career choices, including special talents and intelligence, career interests, personality, as well as family background and socio-economic status. These findings underscore the complexity of adolescents’ career decision-making processes, where both internal and external factors play crucial roles. Thus, it can be concluded that factors influencing students’ career choices stem from individuals’ internal factors and the influence of their family environment. The implications of this research highlight the importance of educational and familial support in assisting students in choosing careers that align with their potentials and interests.

Abstract

Learning media is a central element in modern education, forming an integral part of dynamic and inclusive learning processes. Over time, learning media has undergone significant transformation from traditional forms to becoming more interactive, multimedia, and digital in line with advancements in information and communication technology. This research aims to examine the development of interactive learning media in response to the need for adaptive and technology-integrated learning approaches. The background of this study includes the increasing use of technology in education and the challenges faced in implementing relevant and effective learning media. The research methodology employed is a qualitative case study, involving analysis of the implementation of interactive learning media in secondary schools. The main findings indicate that the use of interactive learning media can enhance student engagement and facilitate collaborative learning. The implications of this research underscore the necessity for greater support in developing educational technology infrastructure in schools and providing training for educators to integrate technology into their teaching practices. The outcomes of this study are expected to provide guidance for policymakers and educational practitioners in leveraging technology effectively to enhance educational quality in the current digital era.

Abstract

Mind mapping, often referred to as concept mapping, is a highly effective tool for organizing thoughts and is a simple way to store information in the brain and retrieve it when needed. This research aims to: (1) identify factors contributing to inadequate design of thematic learning media in Grade III primary schools in Bogor Regency, (2) design thematic learning media based on mind mapping for implementation in Grade III primary schools in Bogor Regency, (3) evaluate teachers’ responses to the use of thematic learning media based on mind mapping in Grade III primary schools in Bogor Regency. This study adopts the ADDIE model development approach, involving Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Findings indicate that thematic learning media based on mind mapping are not well-structured due to primary school teachers’ limited understanding of mind mapping creation in Bogor Regency. Expert evaluation shows the developed media received a good rating, and teachers responded positively to the developed media. This suggests that thematic learning media based on mind mapping can effectively enhance learning in primary schools in Bogor Regency.

Abstract

The implementation of technology in educational change management has become one of the main focuses in efforts to enhance school effectiveness. This study aims to explore the impact of technology use on the change process in educational environments and how it affects school operational effectiveness. The study adopts a qualitative approach with case study methods in several schools that have integrated technology into their managerial strategies. The findings indicate that technology facilitates better communication, eases professional training and development, and improves data accessibility and management. However, challenges such as the need for intensive training and resistance to change were also identified. The study concludes that technology can significantly improve school effectiveness in managing change, but its successful implementation heavily depends on appropriate support and well-planned strategies. Abstract

Student learning motivation is a key factor in the success of the learning process. Civics and Citizenship Education (PPKn) often faces challenges in maintaining students’ interest and motivation to learn. One method that can be used to enhance learning motivation is Number Head Together (NHT), which encourages active student participation through group discussions. This research intends to explore the influence of implementing the NHT learning method on enhancing students’ learning motivation in PPKn. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Participants are students of class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 1 Karawang. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with students, and documentation analysis. The results show that the implementation of the NHT method significantly increases active student participation in learning. Students are actively engaged in group discussions, asking more questions, and experiencing improved understanding of PPKn materials. Furthermore, students’ learning motivation also increases as a result of positive experiences in collaborative learning. The implementation of the NHT learning method can effectively enhance students’ learning motivation in PPKn. This method not only expands students’ knowledge but also helps in developing their social skills through better interaction with teachers and peers.

Abstract

Education and health are two key pillars in human resource development that play a crucial role in supporting long-term economic growth. This study aims to examine how the integration of education and health strategies can strengthen the economic foundation of a nation. This research employs a qualitative approach using literature review as the primary method to analyze various policies, programs, and best practices in several developing countries. The findings indicate that the synergy between improving the quality of education and equitable access to health services significantly enhances workforce productivity, broadens economic participation, and accelerates social mobility. Furthermore, integrated policies in these two sectors contribute to more inclusive and sustainable development. The implications of this study highlight the importance of formulating holistic and cross-sectoral public policies, where education and health are not treated as separate entities, but as a unified strategic component in efforts to strengthen national economic competitiveness and resilience.
