Abstract

The habit of memorizing Juz Amma among elementary school students is both commendable and beneficial, particularly in supporting daily prayer practices. To enhance this memorization, effective strategies are required one of which is the use of positive reinforcement. This study aims to explore how positive reinforcement strategies can effectively improve students’ memorization of Juz Amma. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using content analysis supported by cross-checking and triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the positive reinforcement strategy involves a structured procedure: identifying (planning) the target behaviors, selecting appropriate types of positive reinforcement, maintaining consistency in implementation, and conducting evaluation during the memorization process. The impact of this strategy is reflected in improved cognitive abilities, attitudes, and skills of the students throughout the Juz Amma memorization process. The study demonstrates that when applied consistently and appropriately, positive reinforcement strategies significantly contribute to the development of students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains in the context of memorizing Juz Amma.

Abstract

This article explores the evolution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) policy in Indonesia, tracing its development from the colonial era to the present day. It also examines how PAI content is represented in the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies (KI-KD) of the 2013 Curriculum and in the Learning Outcomes (CP) of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing historical analysis and content analysis to investigate both policy developments and curriculum content related to PAI. The findings reveal that state policies on PAI have been dynamic, closely tied to the broader political landscape of Islam in Indonesia. These range from the prohibition of PAI in schools during the colonial period, to the official recognition of Islamic education institutions such as madrasahs during the New Order era, and finally to the acknowledgment of pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) during the Reformasi period. In terms of content, PAI in the 2013 Curriculum (KI-KD) includes a wide range of competencies. However, inconsistencies were found between the graduation standards (SKL), content standards (SI), and the core/basic competencies themselves. In contrast, the PAI component of the Merdeka Curriculum demonstrates more coherent learning progressions across phases and outlines competencies that are more integrated and conceptually advanced.

Abstract

This study explores the application of Ilahiyah accounting in shaping the character of Muslim students majoring in Accounting at Pontianak State Polytechnic. The central issue addressed is the limited understanding among some students who perceive profit solely in material terms, thereby overlooking the immaterial dimensions emphasized in Islamic teachings. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research adopts the Bayani method an analytical framework grounded in critical interpretation of relevant Qur’anic verses and Prophetic Hadiths. The findings reveal that integrating divine accounting principles based on the Qur’an and As-Sunnah effectively cultivates student character development that transcends mere financial orientation. Instead, it fosters an awareness of moral, ethical, and spiritual responsibilities. This study contributes to reinforcing an Islamic-values-based accounting paradigm, aiming to produce Muslim accountants endowed with integrity and holistic accountability.

Abstract

This research investigates the dynamics of interfaith social interactions in the campus environment. Focused on students perceptions and behaviors regarding religious tolerance, Indonesia, as a country with many religions and beliefs, needs a deep understanding of how the younger generation, especially students, build and manage social relationships with people from different religious backgrounds. This research yielded several important findings using qualitative research methods on 200 students and in-depth interviews with 10 informants from various religious backgrounds. The research results show that 75% of respondents have positive social interactions with friends of different religions, but 25% still feel uncomfortable in certain situations. Family background and education, the intensity of interfaith interactions, understanding of tolerance principles, and the social climate on campus are some components that influence interaction dynamics. Abstract

Attitudes and behaviors that do not accept differences can lead to intolerance in children, which is contrary to the core value of tolerance, which is acceptance and appreciation of differences. It is necessary to instill the value of tolerance so that tolerant attitudes continue to be maintained in children's attitudes and behaviors. One effort that can be made is through animated series, as children today are easily attracted to animated films due to their appealing visuals. This study examines the animated film Upin and Ipin by Moh Nizam Abdur Razak et al. This is a qualitative descriptive study using a literature review approach. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation and data analysis using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that there are values of tolerance in the analysis of the characters in the animated film Upin and Ipin. These values of tolerance are accepting and respecting differences and can be categorized into religious tolerance and social tolerance. The attitude of tolerance, accepting and respecting differences, is an attitude that can be adopted and reflected by children in their daily lives through social interaction.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the urgency of innovation in Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in guiding prospective teachers to have moderate characters. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were taken using observation techniques and documentation studies. The data were analyzed in three stages consisting of data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of the study indicate that innovation in learning models of project-based learning in integrating the values ​​of religious moderation is very important because it can meet the demands of learning that accommodates 21st century competencies, namely communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking skills in solving problems. In addition, prospective teachers today require Moral Knowing as a basis in making a decision, including in the context of religious moderation. This study has implications for the importance of innovating in learning to meet the competencies of prospective teachers with moderate characters. Therefore, teachers, lecturers or stakeholders need to continue to encourage project-based learning models through a Moral Knowing approach, especially in integrating moderation values. This research needs to continue to be developed in order to integrate moderate character values ​​in prospective teachers

Abstract

Competition in educational quality encourages institutions to continuously improve their management standards. One such example is Dayah MUDI Samalanga Bireuen, which implements specific strategies in educational management. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by Dayah MUDI to enhance the quality of education through the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM). The study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of TQM at Dayah MUDI is effective in improving educational quality. The strategies applied include training teachers to become professional educators at both local and international levels, hiring specialized instructors for language teaching, and integrating the national Pesantren curriculum. Additionally, Dayah MUDI actively gathers feedback from students and parents as part of its continuous improvement efforts. The institution also provides adequate facilities to support students' development of both soft and hard skills. These findings suggest that the management model adopted by Dayah MUDI can serve as a best practice example for similar educational institutions seeking to improve quality through the application of total quality management principles.

Abstract

This research explores the application of religious moderation in building intercultural harmony in the social dynamics of the Pesantren Riyadul 'Ulum Wadda'wah community in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines the interactions among santri who come from various cultural backgrounds in a pesantren environment that integrates classical religious education, modern discipline, and pesantren values that uphold togetherness and tolerance. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results showed that Pesantren Riyadul 'Ulum Wadda'wah actively promotes intercultural harmony through teaching religious moderation values that emphasize the balance between spiritual and social life, integrating religious moderation in pesantren learning, and creating spaces for intercultural dialogue. The findings show that pesantren can function as cultural bridges and agents of social cohesion in multicultural communities. The integration of religious moderation values with symbolic interaction confirms the relevance of pesantren as pioneers in promoting intercultural harmony in the modern era.

Abstract

نعيش في عصر يتميز بالتسارع المعرفي، وبتطور علمي هائل في مجال الثقافات، يجعل من الصعوبة بمكان بالنسبة إلى أي معلم الاطلاع على المستجدات كافة، والحقائق الجديدة كلها والمرتبطة بمادته الدراسية.  إضافة إلى أن الطلبة يتعرفون من خلال وسائل الإعلام المرئية والمسموعة والمقروءة إلى حقائق جديدة، ويطرحون تساؤلات عنها قد لا تكون معروفة بالنسبة إلى المعلمين.  إذاً فإننا نلاحظ أن وظائف المعلم ومهماته في الفترة الراهنة أصبحت أكثر تعقيدا ًوصعوبة، ولم تعد مقتصرة على تقديم المعلومات الجاهزة وتهيئة الظروف المناسبة لاستيعابها، وهذا ما يهدف البحث لعرضه وتوضيحه. واتبعت الباحثة المنهج الاستقرائي التحليلي في كتابة مادة هذا البحث، والذي توصل إلى أن النمو المهني للمعلم يتيح فرصاً كثيرة للابتكار والإبداع لدى طلابه؛ والتي هي الآن بأمس الحاجة لمن يطلقها ويوجهها ويستثمرها نحو مستقبل متطور ومشرق؛ ولذا فإنه يتحتم على الدول أن تنفق كل ما بوسعها لدعم التعليم؛ فهو أنجع الطرق للتنمية المنتظرة، ويوصي البحث بالآتي بأن تتبنى وزارات التربية والتعليم العالي إعداد سلسلة شاملة ومتكاملة من البحوث والدراسات –سيما الرسائل الجامعية فيها وهي كثيرة في بلادنا- ونشر كل الأبحاث التي تصب في مجال إعداد وتفعيل وتطوير المع لم.

Abstract

The ability to read the Qur’an serves as a fundamental pillar for comprehending Islamic teachings in their entirety. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Bina Baca Al-Qur’an (BBQ) program organized by UKM BAQI at the Indonesia University of Education in enhancing students’ Qur’anic reading skills. Employing a quantitative approach, data were collected from pre-test and post-test results involving 42 student samples, complemented by in-depth interviews with program coordinators. Wilcoxon test analysis revealed a statistically significant improvement, with a p-value of < 0.001, confirming the program’s impact in fostering students’ Qur’anic literacy. Key contributing factors include peer-tutoring, teaching strategies, and participants' intrinsic motivation. These findings affirm the value of structured, spiritually grounded interventions within the higher education setting
