Abstract

Lesson planning is a critical component of the teaching process, particularly in English-speaking lessons. This study aims to investigate the challenges faced by junior high school teachers in planning effective English-speaking lessons. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with English teachers in Medan. Findings reveal that teachers encounter several obstacles, including difficulties in designing materials that accommodate diverse student abilities, limited resources, ineffective time management, and low student motivation. Additionally, speaking skill evaluations tend to emphasize fluency and pronunciation, neglecting aspects like creativity and confidence. The study recommends adopting student-centered approaches, such as project-based learning, improved time management strategies, and interactive teaching methods to address these challenges. A holistic evaluation framework is also suggested to assess broader aspects of speaking skills. This research provides practical insights for educators and policymakers to enhance the quality of English-speaking instruction in schools.

Abstract

This study assessed EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students' perceptions of using Wattpad to improve their creative writing skills. Wattpad, a community-based platform, allows students to read, write, and share stories, which helps them develop creativity, narrative structure, and vocabulary. This research was conducted on 10 EFL student participants at the North Sumatra State Islamic University (UIN-SU), using a phenomenological approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews to understand the experiences, benefits and challenges students face in using Wattpad for creative writing. This research aims to explore how social interaction and feedback from the Wattpad community contribute to the motivation and development of students' writing skills, particularly in terms of narrative ability, creativity, and character development. In addition, this research also aims to identify the challenges students face in using Wattpad and investigate how this platform can be optimized in classroom learning settings for EFL. The research results show that Wattpad provides significant benefits, especially in increasing student motivation through feedback and interaction with the community. Students reported improvements in their narrative techniques, creativity, and character development. However, challenges such as lack of technical guidance in creative writing and difficulties in time management were also cited by participants. In conclusion, Wattpad has proven to be an effective tool for supporting creative writing, especially if incorporated into the curriculum with proper guidance. This research suggests that further research should be carried out to optimize the use of Wattpad in learning and overcome the challenges faced by students.

Abstract

This research is development research (RnD) which aims to produce an Al-Quran integrated reproductive system learning module biology contains 21st century skills that is valid, practical, and effectively used in learning. This module development research refers to the 4-D development model which has 4 stages namely define, design, development, and dissemination which have been revised and tested on a limited scale in the field. The research instrument used was a validation sheet, student response questionnaires, and a test of learning outcomes in the form of 20 numbered multiple choice questions. The data analysis techniques used are validity data analysis, practically data analysis, and effectiveness data analysis. The result showed that the Al-Quran integrated reproductive system learning module biology contains 21st century skills as a whole had good quality in teaching and learning activities. The level of validity of the module can be seen from the result of the percentage of validators of material experts by 83% with very valid criteria, from media experts by 81,6% with very valid criteria, and from Al-Quran experts by 84,6% with very valid criteria. The practicality level of the module is seen from the student responses obtained from the overall percentage of the small group test of 79,8% with interesting criteria and the large group test of 84,4% with very interesting criteria. Then the level of effectiveness of the module seen from the learning outcomes of student obtained the average value of the level of mastery of students that is equal to 85,5% in the very effective category with the percentage of student learning completeness of 100%. Thus, it can be concluded that the module developed with the 4-D model is valid, practical, and effective so that it is feasible to be used as teaching material for students of class XI MA/SMA, especially on reproductive system material.

Abstract

This research aims to test how much influence brand image, discounts and product quality have on bag purchasing decisions via price in the online shop application (Tiktok Shop). This research is quantitative research. The data collection method is through distributing questionnaires. This sampling technique uses a non-probability sampling technique with a convenience sampling technique using the Slovin formula. The analytical methods used are path analysis, partial least squares (PLS) analysis, outer model, inner model and hypothesis testing, data processing in research using the SmartPLS 3.0 software program. The results of the research can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence between Brand Image and Price among students majoring in management at Putra Indonesia University "YPTK" Padang Bp 2021 who use Tiktok Shop. There is a positive and significant influence between discounts on prices for students majoring in management at Putra Indonesia University "YPTK" Padang Bp 2021 who use the Tiktok Shop. There is a positive and significant influence between work discipline on prices for students majoring in management at Putra Indonesia University "YPTK" Padang Bp 2021 who use Tiktok Shop. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh Pengaruh Kompetensi Dan Motivasi Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan Dengan Keterlibatan Kerja Sebagai Variabel Intervening dengan menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dengan menyebarkan koesioner kepada 36 orang Pegawai sebagai responden yaitu pada PT. BPR LPN Sungai Rumbai. Dalam Penelitian ini menggunakan alat analisis Structrual Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan menggunakan Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterlibatan kerja pada PT. BPR LPN Sungai Rumbai. Motivasi kerja berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap keterlibatan kerja pada PT. BPR LPN Sungai Rumbai. Kompetensi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada PT. BPR LPN Sungai Rumbai. Motivasi kerja berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terdahap kinerja karyawan pada PT. BPR LPN Sungai Rumbai. Abstract

The problem in this research is the low level of activity, motivation and student learning outcomes. This is caused by one-way learning, lack of student activity during the learning process, not using varied learning models and media, and monotonous learning. Efforts to overcome this are by using the PETA model which consists of the Problem Based Learning Model, Example Non Example Model, Teams Games Tournament Model. The aim of this research is to describe teacher activities, analyze increased student activity, student learning motivation, and learning outcomes. This research used PTK which was carried out in 4 meetings. The research subjects were 9 grade IV students at SDN 2 Pangeran, in the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data was obtained through observing teacher activities, student activities, student learning motivation, as well as learning outcomes obtained through group and individual written tests.

Abstract

This research is motivated by teachers at SD Negeri 1 Probolinggo City who are less innovative in learning methods found that students have difficulty in understanding the concept of photosynthesis because the learning methods used are still conventional, relying only on Student Worksheets (LKS) and lectures causing a lack of active participation of students in the learning process and the low critical thinking skills of students. This study aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR) based diorama learning media on photosynthesis material in IPAS subjects to improve understanding and critical thinking skills of grade IV students at SDN Pilang 1 Probolinggo City. This research aims to develop augmented reality-based diorama media on photosynthesis material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The results showed that AR-based diorama media was effective in improving students' understanding of the photosynthesis process as well as their critical thinking skills. The validation level measured from the material obtained 90.90% while the media obtained 91.66%. Students become more active in learning, easier to understand abstract concepts, and more capable of analyzing and interesting.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of active learning models in Civic Education at the elementary school level. Active learning encourages student engagement, enhances conceptual understanding, and fosters critical thinking skills. This research employs a literature review approach by collecting data through observation, interviews, and document analysis in schools that apply active learning models. The findings indicate that methods such as group discussions, role-playing, and project-based learning significantly improve student motivation and civic awareness. Teachers also experience improvements in classroom management and designing interactive learning activities. However, challenges such as limited time, resources, and teacher training must be addressed for effective implementation. The study recommends curriculum adjustments and teacher training to optimize active learning models in Civic Education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Character education in Islam is very important to form a generation that has good morals and strong integrity, especially amidst the challenges of digitalization and globalization. The Qur'an as the main source of Islamic values ​​is the basis for character formation, emphasizing values ​​such as monotheism, honesty, responsibility, compassion, and hard work. The application of Qur'anic values ​​in the curriculum, school activities, and creating a supportive environment and role models from teachers are effective strategies in the process of internalizing Islamic character. Cooperation between schools, families, and communities also plays an important role in maintaining the consistency of the values ​​taught to students. With this comprehensive approach, Islamic character education can produce individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent, but also have spiritual and social strength.

Abstract

Numerous elementary students continue to face challenges in developing reading proficiency, particularly regarding text comprehension and reading fluency. These difficulties frequently stem from inadequate learning motivation and conventional teaching approaches that fail to engage students. This research aims to examine theoretically how interactive pedagogical strategies can serve as effective solutions for addressing literacy barriers in elementary education. The study employs a comprehensive literature review methodology, systematically collecting and analyzing relevant academic sources including peer-reviewed journals and educational publications. Findings indicate that interactive learning approaches, including educational gaming, collaborative small-group activities, and visual media integration, significantly enhance student engagement and reading comprehension outcomes. These methodologies foster dynamic learning environments that promote active student participation throughout the educational process. Consequently, interactive pedagogical approaches are strongly recommended as viable alternatives for effectively addressing reading difficulties among elementary school populations.
