Abstract

The digital era has created information overload, making it easier for students to access information but more difficult to identify credible sources. This condition increases the risk of misinformation and weak critical thinking, especially among Generation Z students who heavily rely on social media platforms. This community service program aimed to improve students’ soft skills in accessing, analyzing, and synthesizing information (AAS), particularly to support accounting and management decision-making. The training was conducted on October 1, 2025, at STIE Tri Bhakti, involving accounting and management students. The implementation methods included lectures, interactive discussions, demonstrations, case studies, and simulation-based practices. The materials emphasized identifying credible sources (OJK, IDX, BPS, annual reports, and academic journals), evaluating information validity using the 5W1H approach, analyzing financial statement cases, and synthesizing data into executive summaries and recommendations. The results indicate that participants showed improved awareness of source credibility, increased critical thinking skills in interpreting accounting information, and better ability to formulate structured conclusions. This program contributes to strengthening students’ analytical mindset and preparing them for academic tasks and professional accounting practices in the digital era.

Abstract

The limited artificial intelligence literacy of village officials restricts the use of AI in producing public information materials and lacked an understanding of structured prompt development. This community service activity aimed to improve their understanding and ability to use AI for producing activity news, social media captions, announcements, public service information, and poster concepts. The activity was conducted at Pekuncen Village Hall, Kroya District, Cilacap Regency, and involved nine village officials. A participatory approach was implemented through a pretest, material presentation, demonstration, discussion, guided practice, and posttest. The evaluation instrument consisted of 20 Likert-scale statements covering basic AI knowledge, AI benefits and limitations, prompt development, the use of AI for publication, and data ethics and security. The results showed that the participants’ average score increased from 50.89 in the pretest to 83.44 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 63.97%. The greatest improvement occurred in prompt development skills, with the average score increasing from 2.26 to 4.02. Participants also became more capable of verifying facts, editing AI-generated outputs, and avoiding the use of personal data in public AI applications. These findings indicate that practice-based training can improve village officials perceived understanding and ability to use AI critically, safely, and responsibly.

Abstract

Early detection of danger signs and complications is essential in maternal health to ensure safe childbirth for both mother and baby. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of pregnant women regarding early detection of pregnancy-related health conditions at Kretek Primary Health Center, Bantul Regency. The activity involved 16 pregnant women as participants. The methods used included interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions on recognizing danger signs, and simple screening through blood pressure measurement and mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC). Evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure participants' knowledge improvement. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge after the educational intervention. The average pre-test score of 61.25 increased to 96.25 in the post-test, with an average score improvement of 35 points. Participants also demonstrated active engagement throughout the activity, as reflected in their enthusiasm in asking questions and participating in discussions on pregnancy danger signs, the importance of antenatal care, and the role of family support in maintaining a healthy pregnancy. These findings indicate that health education delivered through a participatory approach and supported by educational media is effective in enhancing pregnant women's understanding. This activity is expected to strengthen pregnant women's preparedness in recognizing pregnancy risks early and support efforts to prevent complications, ultimately contributing to safe childbirth.
