Abstract

This research looks for and analyzes the moral and social educational values of the Prophet Muhammad SAW as referred to Sheikh Shafiyyurrahman Al-Mubarakfuri in Ar-Rahiq Al-Makhtum. Using a qualitative methodology, this study adopts historical and biographical approaches to reconstruct the educational practices of Prophet Muhammad to identify their relevance to contemporary educational needs. Primary data are extracted from Ar-Rahiq Al-Makhtum, augmented with secondary data comprising academic publications and books selected based on their veracity and pertinence to the last decade. Data were analyzed thematically to determine core values distilled into categories of moral education (e.g., piety, honesty, patience) and social education (e.g., tolerance, responsibility, compassion). There are eight ethical values derived from the findings: piety, respect for parents, honesty, trustworthiness, intelligence, effective communication, justice, patience as well as social values including socialization, common communication, tolerance, mutual assistance, leadership, loyalty, and accountability. Values embodied by Prophet Muhammad that are equipped to help build character in contemporary situations. These values can be adapted to other fields, including education, leadership, and community relations, according to the study. This study contributes to the broader discourse on Islamic education that links the historical significance of Prophet Muhammad's teachings with contemporary character education theories. It emphasizes the need to incorporate spiritual, intellectual and social aspects into contemporary educational systems. Interestingly, this model is based on Ar-Rahiq Al-Makhtum, from which these values can be drawn, and can even be applied to a practical scale.

Abstract

In the late twentieth century, he witnessed a significant shift in Islamic discourse in Indonesia, particularly with the rise of egalitarianism and the indigenization of Islam. Against this backdrop, this study investigates KH. Nur Salim's pivotal role in adapting Sufism to a pluralistic society in Malang, East Java. It aims to explore how his down-to-earth approach effectively integrated spiritual values with social life, fostering a form of Sufism that suits the needs of modern society. Using qualitative phenomenological methods, the research captured the lived experiences and perceptions of the community regarding KH Nur Salim in his socio-academic role. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to understand the phenomenon comprehensively. The findings show that KH. Nur Salim, centered on four pillars- patience, humility, acceptance, and generosity- not only advances individual spirituality but also strengthens social cohesion in a diverse society. This approach is in line with theories that emphasize contextual adaptation of religious teachings, contributing to the discourse on the role of religion in promoting pluralism and tolerance. However, the study acknowledges limitations related to geographical coverage and methodological challenges, which may impact the generalizability of the findings. These insights have implications for the broader application of Sufism in pluralistic contexts globally.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of pesantren, Indonesia's oldest Islamic educational institution, on practicing environmental education based on Islamic values. This study adopts the method of library research, in which it uses secondary data from scientific books, journal articles, research reports, official documents, and Islamic texts. Three main aspects of the analysis include the theological basis of environmental responsibility in the Qur'an, the global and local context of environmental education, and pesantren education in terms of structure and culture. Khalifah, Mizan, and Hifdz al-bah are considered sustainable, ethical frameworks. The findings revealed that pesantren encountered major challenges in combining modern environmental education but possess special strengths like solid moral principles, local values, and close relationships between teachers and students. These include the constraints of the curriculum, the lack of resources, and teachers not being trained for this type of interdisciplinary and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) methodologies. Notwithstanding these barriers, pesantren can adapt traditional religious teaching to meet contemporary sustainability demands through curriculum reform, community-based initiatives, and partnerships with external funders. The model developed in this study shows that pesantren can be a transformative institution to promote sustainability with a potent amalgamation of Islamic ethical values and modern forms of education. This may lead to a transformative education approach for sustainability from pesantren. The new model underscores systematic curriculum development, teacher capacity-building, and external partners that can help support resource provision. As moral and educational forces in society, pesantren are expected to play important roles in local and global sustainability, shouting to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in quality education and climate action.

Abstract

This study explores strategies employed by housewives in four sub-districts of Jember Regency Sumberbaru, Tanggul, Rambipuji, and Ledokombo to strengthen the family economy through environmental resource utilization. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Source and method triangulation ensured the validity of findings. The results indicate that utilizing yard land for household agriculture, circular economy-based waste management, and environment-based small business development significantly enhance family income, environmental sustainability, and family education. Home gardening improves food security and provides additional income, while household waste management, including recycling and composting, generates economic value and mitigates environmental impact. Moreover, small businesses utilizing natural products foster entrepreneurship while promoting sustainability. This study contributes to the literature on household economy, circular economy, and sustainability-based entrepreneurship within rural Indonesia. The findings highlight the necessity of a holistic approach in family economic planning, integrating economic, social, and educational dimensions. These insights have practical implications for policies supporting sustainable rural development, emphasizing economic resilience, environmental stewardship, and family education

Abstract

This study aims to describe the practices, determinants of success, and the significance of implementing mosque-based life skills education at Nurul Huda Mosque in Mojo as a means to mitigate social vulnerability. To address these questions, the author employs a qualitative approach through a case study design. Data were collected using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques, and were then analyzed through a simultaneous cycle of data condensation, presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the practice of mosque-based life skills education at Nurul Huda Mosque in Mojo is conducted in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Various life skills activities are organized, encompassing social and personal skills, academic and vocational skills, such as Gerakan Subuh Kubro (early morning congregation movement), Bocah Sarungan (a program for youth engagement), comparative studies with other mosques of similar identity, networking visits (silaturahmi/tabarruk-an) to the Kediri PCNU and East Java PWNU, large-scale religious gatherings (pengajian akbar), as well as training sessions in Quranic recitation, banjari (traditional Islamic music), screen printing, embroidery, tailoring, and mosque-related machinery. These activities are made possible by the innovation of the mosque management at Nurul Huda Mosque in Mojo and demonstrate significant effects on mitigating social vulnerability by adapting to the changing landscape around Wijaya Kusuma Bridge in Mojo, Kediri.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) within a constructivist framework to enhance students' environmental awareness. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research utilizes the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to identify, evaluate, and synthesize peer-reviewed literature published between 2020 and 2025. The selection process followed PRISMA guidelines and included academic databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, and institutional repositories. A total of 45 articles were initially identified, 20 of which met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that the integration of PBL and constructivist approaches contributes significantly to the holistic development of students' ecological knowledge, ethical values, and pro-environmental behaviors. The synergy between both pedagogical models fosters authentic, collaborative, and reflective learning environments, encouraging students to engage with real-world environmental challenges. Thematic analysis indicates that PBL not only enhances cognitive understanding but also supports the internalization of sustainability-oriented attitudes and actions. This integrative strategy is positioned as a promising pedagogical solution to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical engagement in environmental education. The study offers theoretical contributions by proposing a conceptual framework for environmental learning, and practical implications for educators and policymakers in designing curriculum interventions that are contextually relevant and action-oriented. It advocates for the adoption of PBL as a core instructional model to cultivate environmentally responsible and globally competent learners

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of classroom management in grade IV students at Alkhairaat Mamboro Elementary School with a descriptive qualitative approach. The research was conducted to explore the dynamics of classroom management from various aspects, including the physical environment, student interaction and discipline, learning methods and media, to teacher reflection and evaluation. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with informants consisting of principals, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification through triangulation and member checking. The results show that classroom management practices have reflected efforts to create a conducive learning environment, although there are still various obstacles. Flexibility in seating arrangements and awareness of cleanliness began to be implemented, but the effectiveness of the picket system and the limitations of modern learning facilities are still obstacles. Teachers' strategies in fostering discipline tend to be persuasive and educative, but not yet entirely consistent. Students favour the use of interactive methods, but the utilisation of technology is not yet optimal. In addition, reflective activities have not been structured as part of the learning quality improvement cycle. This research contributes to developing classroom management theory and practice in primary schools, particularly faith-based education. The findings emphasise the importance of a holistic approach to classroom management that includes physical aspects, behaviour, pedagogical strategies, and contextualised continuous evaluation

Abstract

This study examines the role of persuasive communication by madrasah principals in building teacher loyalty in Islamic educational institutions. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, this research was conducted over three months at MTs Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa, which was selected for its efforts to strengthen teacher commitment through planned communication strategies. Data were collected from 11 purposively selected informants comprising the school principal, eight teachers, and two educational staff through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Analysis was conducted using a thematic approach to identify key patterns related to persuasive communication strategies and their impact on teacher loyalty. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources, methods, and theory, referencing McCroskey & Richmond's persuasive communication theory, organisational loyalty, and transformational leadership. Findings indicate that the madrasah principal's empathetic, dialogic, and consistent communication significantly enhances teachers' emotional commitment, mutual respect, and professional trust. These practices also contribute to forming a collaborative and value-oriented school culture. This study enriches the existing literature by presenting a contextual model of persuasive leadership communication, particularly through personal interactions and participatory decision-making. Practically, it is recommended that persuasive communication training be integrated into school leadership development programs, especially in environments that emphasise moral and relational leadership. This study also opens opportunities for further research, including longitudinal and comparative studies across school contexts. Persuasive communication is an additional skill and a key strategy in shaping a cohesive and committed educational community

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) Management using the PPEPP method at SMK Darul Musthofa Assunniyyah Yosowilangun Lumajang to enhance school quality. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation to gather data from 30 informants, including school principals, teachers, curriculum coordinators, and administrative staff. The study was conducted over three months (January-March 2025). The findings indicate that the PPEPP method has positively impacted the planning and implementation of academic programs, fostering structured management and improving teacher professionalism. However, challenges remain in the evaluation and control phases, particularly in integrating evaluation results into decision-making processes. The lack of digitalization and systematic monitoring mechanisms hinders the effectiveness of QA implementation. Teachers and school administrators recognize the importance of QA but highlight the need for further training and data-driven decision-making. To optimize QA management, the study recommends enhancing digitalization in documentation, strengthening professional development programs for teachers, and integrating technology in quality monitoring. These improvements will ensure that QA is not merely an administrative function but a continuous effort to enhance educational quality. The study contributes valuable insights for school administrators and policymakers in optimizing QA strategies and serves as a reference for future research in educational quality management
