Abstract

Early childhood education necessitates interactive learning approaches to foster holistic development. Educational gardens have been recognized as effective learning tools that provide hands-on experiences. This study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to examine the impact of an educational garden at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 14 on early childhood students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and participatory assessments. Findings indicate that the educational garden significantly enhances cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development in children. Furthermore, the PAR method effectively engages educators, parents, and students, fostering collaborative learning experiences. Challenges identified include sustainability concerns and resource limitations. The study underscores the importance of integrating educational gardens in early childhood education. Sustainable implementation requires strategic planning, community involvement, and institutional support. Future research should focus on longitudinal impact assessments and digital enhancements to garden-based learning.

Abstract

The relationship between lifestyle choices and psychological well-being has gained increasing attention in workplace wellness research, particularly within educational institutions. College faculty members often face significant challenges due to heavy workloads, academic pressures, and administrative responsibilities, which may impact their mental health. This study aims to examine the correlation between lifestyle habits—such as work-life balance, diet, sleep patterns, and physical activity—and the psychological well-being of college faculty members. This research adopts a cross-sectional survey approach, collecting primary data through questionnaires from lecturers at St. Ann’s College for Women, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad. Participants were selected using a random sampling method. The survey included demographic information and questions related to healthy lifestyle practices that may influence psychological well-being. Data analysis was conducted using MS Excel, SPSS, and R programming, employing correlation, regression analysis, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to determine the significance of associations between variables. The findings reveal key patterns in lifestyle habits that correlate with faculty members' psychological well-being. Statistical analyses indicate that certain factors, such as balanced sleep patterns and regular physical activity, have a positive association with mental health, while work-life imbalance and poor dietary choices negatively impact psychological well-being. This study contributes to the growing body of research on occupational health by offering evidence-based recommendations for institutional policy improvements. It suggests implementing faculty wellness programs and fostering a supportive work environment to enhance both individual well-being and institutional productivity.

Abstract

Unauthorized motor vehicle executions by debt collectors and leasing companies in Indonesia often violate legal provisions, causing public confusion and concerns about consumer rights. According to Constitutional Court Decision No. 18/PUU-XVII/2019, such executions must follow legal mechanisms, like court orders or debtor approvals. This community service activity aimed to enhance public understanding of the legal limits of debt collectors' and leasing companies' authority in bad credit cases. An educational and preventive approach was used, involving discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and simulations to clarify legal processes and consumer rights in vehicle financing. The evaluation showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, with 91.88% demonstrating enhanced knowledge of the lawful authority of debt collectors, leasing companies, and legal execution mechanisms. These findings highlight the importance of legal education in empowering consumers to protect their rights and ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This program effectively increased public legal awareness and is expected to help reduce unlawful execution practices. Continued efforts in legal education are recommended to sustain and expand these positive outcomes.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the social skills of students at SD Negeri 1 Lawawoi, Sidenreng Rappang Regency, focusing on expressing gratitude, asking for help, apologizing, and forgiving. The activity was conducted on November 21, 2024, involving 25 students, the Principal, and teachers. A combination of lecture and role-playing methods was used to deliver the material interactively. The program was implemented in three main stages: preparation, implementation, and reflection. During the preparation stage, the team coordinated with school authorities and developed appropriate learning materials. In the implementation stage, students engaged in interactive lectures and role-playing scenarios that simulated real-life social situations, allowing them to practice and internalize the skills effectively. The reflection stage encouraged students to share their experiences and discuss the benefits of maintaining positive social relationships. Feedback from students and teachers indicated significant improvements in students' confidence and ability to manage social interactions. However, the limited duration and number of participants were recognized as potential limitations of the program. Future recommendations include extending the program duration, involving more participants, and conducting follow-up studies to assess the long-term impact of the training. The overall results suggest that integrating interactive learning methods with reflective practices can significantly enhance students' social skills.

Abstract

Bullying is a critical issue in schools that negatively affects students' emotional, social, and academic well-being. Victims of bullying often experience aggression, frustration, and long-term psychological distress. Efforts to mitigate bullying require educational interventions that promote awareness and empathy. This community service program was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 5 Parepare to enhance students' understanding of bullying and its impacts. The intervention involved an educational session covering the definition, types of bullying (physical, verbal, relational, cyber, and prejudicial), its consequences, and strategies for prevention and intervention. Interactive discussions were also included to encourage student participation and reflection. The program effectively increased students' awareness of bullying, its negative effects, and the importance of fostering a respectful and inclusive school environment. Participants demonstrated improved understanding and engagement in discussions about preventing bullying. The findings highlight the significance of educational programs in shaping students' attitudes toward bullying prevention. Continued implementation of such initiatives is essential for promoting a school culture that prioritizes empathy, respect, and support among peers. This community service program successfully enhanced students' knowledge of bullying and encouraged positive behavioral changes. Future initiatives should expand the scope and frequency of such activities to ensure long-term sustainability in bullying prevention efforts.

Abstract

The adherence to journalistic ethics is crucial for ensuring responsible and professional journalism. However, understanding and applying these ethics, especially from an Islamic perspective, presents challenges for beginner journalists. This study aims to explore the internalization of Islamic journalistic ethics among beginner journalists and identify the strategies to strengthen their ethical practices. The study employs a qualitative approach using Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving beginner journalists in interactive discussions and real-life case studies to facilitate the understanding and application of Islamic journalistic ethics. Data was collected through interviews and group discussions with journalists at various media outlets. The findings reveal that while beginner journalists have a basic understanding of journalistic ethics, their knowledge of Islamic principles, such as honesty, trustworthiness, and justice, is limited. The challenges in implementing these principles are primarily influenced by industry pressures, organizational culture, and the tension between press freedom and moral responsibility. The study highlights the need for deeper education and training on Islamic journalistic ethics to enable journalists to consistently apply these principles in their daily work. It emphasizes the importance of creating supportive environments for ethical behavior and fostering collaboration between media, educational institutions, and religious organizations. Future research should explore the broader application of Islamic ethics in digital media and investigate technological solutions to enhance ethical practices in journalism.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of personality and job satisfaction on employee performance at the Directorate of Commercial Order, Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS software for data analysis. A total of 141 employees were surveyed using a census sampling method. The results reveal that personality has a significant positive effect on employee performance, indicating that traits such as conscientiousness and emotional stability enhance work outcomes. Similarly, job satisfaction significantly influences performance, emphasizing the importance of workplace conditions, compensation, and career development in boosting employee productivity. Furthermore, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between personality and performance, demonstrating that satisfied employees are more likely to translate their personality traits into high performance. The findings align with the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which suggests that organizations should focus on optimizing employees' intrinsic strengths rather than merely addressing weaknesses. By fostering a work environment that enhances job satisfaction, organizations can maximize employee contributions and overall performance. Despite its contributions, this study has limitations, including the scope of variables and the sample size confined to one directorate. Future research should explore additional factors such as leadership style, organizational culture, and work-life balance. Expanding the sample to include different institutions and industries could improve generalizability. Moreover, longitudinal studies are recommended to assess long-term behavioral patterns. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and organizational leaders in enhancing employee performance through personality development and job satisfaction strategies.

Abstract

Mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and sleep disturbances have become increasingly prevalent in Indian communities, especially among youth in semi-urban settings. While physical exercise is known to offer psychological benefits, its potential as a community-driven mental health intervention remains underutilized. This study explores the impact of structured sports programs in promoting psychological well-being through community empowerment using an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The intervention was implemented in a semi-urban region of Telangana, India, involving 120 participants and 30 trained youth facilitators. Community assets were mapped and mobilized to develop weekly sports sessions combined with group reflection activities. Mixed methods were used to evaluate outcomes: self-reported surveys on stress, sleep, and mood; qualitative reflection logs and participatory observation. The structure was rooted in ABCD principles to ensure sustainability and local ownership. Quantitative findings showed a 53% reduction in daily stress and a 44% improvement in sleep quality among participants. A substantial increase in group participation, emotional openness, and community involvement was also observed. Trained youth facilitators reported improved self-confidence and took active leadership roles in organizing sessions. The intervention led to the formation of a local taskforce, ensuring program continuity beyond institutional support. The program successfully reframed sports as a culturally appropriate tool for emotional expression and mental health awareness. It also fostered a cultural shift in how mental health is discussed within families and peer groups. Although self-reported data and short-term tracking limited generalizability, the results highlight the promise of scalable, community-owned, sports-based mental health strategies.

Abstract

This study explores how reading corners can increase students’ interest in reading and improve literacy skills at SD Negeri Cilondong, located in Cihanyawar Village, Sukabumi Regency. The reading corners were created as a solution to the lack of reading materials and poor reading environments often found in rural schools. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the study involved 80 students from grades 1 to 6, along with teachers and school staff, in a process of planning, implementing, and evaluating the reading corner activities. Data were collected through questionnaires, reading logs, and group discussions. The reading corners were filled with storybooks, comics, science books, picture books, and folk tales. After several months, the results showed clear improvements: 68.8% of students enjoyed reading more, 75.1% actively used the reading corners, and over 70% showed better reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. Most students visited the corners regularly and many borrowed books to read at home. This study shows that a simple, low-cost reading corner, developed with community involvement, can significantly help improve reading habits and literacy in rural elementary schools.

Abstract

Premarital guidance plays a vital role in preparing prospective brides and grooms for marriage by enhancing their religious and psychological readiness. Integrating Service Learning into this guidance program offers an experiential and participatory approach that may improve the effectiveness of preparation. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a Service Learning framework, involving five pairs of prospective couples and one religious counselor at the Religious Affairs Office in Percut Sei Tuan. Data were collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews, focusing on the implementation process and its impact on couples’ readiness. Findings indicate that Service Learning-based premarital guidance significantly improves couples’ understanding of Islamic marriage principles and strengthens their emotional maturity and coping skills. Interactive activities and reflections promoted deeper internalization of religious values and enhanced psychological preparedness for marital challenges. The participatory nature of Service Learning fosters moral commitment and emotional resilience essential for harmonious family life. Despite challenges such as limited time and participant variability, this approach effectively combines spiritual and psychological preparation, contributing to the development of stable and fulfilling marriages.
