Abstract

The low learning outcomes in civic education and citizenship among fourth-grade students at SDN SN Kebun Bunga 4 Banjarmasin can lead to the suboptimal development of critical thinking abilities and skills in students. If this issue is not addressed seriously, it can have an impact on the failure of moral, ethical, and character development in students. The root of this problem lies in the abstract, conventional, non-varied, monotonous, teacher-centered nature of the learning process, which does not involve critical thinking activities, causing students to tend to be passive in the learning process. This research aims to describe the improvement in the quality of teacher activities, analyze the increase in activities and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students after implementing the Problem Based Learning model at SDN SN Kebun Bunga 4 Banjarmasin. The approach used in this research is qualitative, with the type of Collaborative Classroom Action Research (CCAR) conducted over two sessions. The research data consists of qualitative data obtained through observations of teacher and student activities. Subsequently, quantitative data was obtained from evaluation tests. The research results show that the quality of teacher activities increased from 69% in the first session to 88% in the second session. Student activities increased from 65.4% in the first session to 93.4% in the second session. Student learning outcomes improved from 62% to 86%. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that the Problem Based Learning model is capable of significantly improving teacher and student activities as well as learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research explores teachers' perceptions of AI-generated English lesson plans specifically designed for students with intellectual disabilities. The objective is to assess the effectiveness and usability of AI tools, namely ChatGPT, in enhancing lesson planning for this unique student population. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys with 14 teachers who work with students with intellectual disabilities. The findings reveal a general satisfaction among teachers regarding the innovative ideas and time-saving benefits of AI-generated lesson plans. However, challenges were identified, including the inability of the AI to create multimedia content, discrepancies in formatting with government standards, and a lack of specificity in assessments. These insights highlight the potential of AI tools to support teachers while also underscoring the need for professional development and training to address the limitations encountered. The study concludes that while AI-generated lesson plans can enhance teaching practices, further research and support are essential to optimize their integration in special education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on student learning outcomes in Social Studies at the elementary school level. The study uses a meta-analysis approach, reviewing and analyzing data collected from several previous research studies. Data was gathered by exploring online journals and repositories on Google Scholar. Based on the analysis, it was found that the PBL model can improve Social Studies learning outcomes, ranging from 13% to 50%, with an average improvement of 30%. The correlation test between the average Social Studies learning outcomes before and after using the PBL model showed a value of 0.720. According to the Pearson correlation guidelines, this value falls into the strong correlation category. Furthermore, in decision-making, with an r-table value of 0.707 for 8 respondents at the 5% significance level, the Pearson correlation of 0.720 is greater than the r-table value, indicating a significant relationship. The t-test results showed a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 and T count < T table = 2.306. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after using the Problem-Based Learning model. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of the PBL model can improve student learning outcomes.
