Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing stress among hostelite youth, focusing on the impact of communal living on mental well-being, academic performance, and social adjustment. Through an analysis of various stressors, including homesickness, dissatisfaction with food quality, and strict hostel regulations, the research highlights the challenges faced by students in hostel environments. Using a quantitative approach, the study reveals age-based variations in stress perception, underscoring the need for tailored support strategies to enhance students' hostel experience. The findings suggest that effective interventions, such as improved counseling services, diverse meal options, and flexible management policies, can mitigate stress and support overall well-being. This study also emphasizes the global relevance of addressing hostelite stress, as these insights can inform best practices in student housing worldwide, contributing to improved academic and personal outcomes for students across borders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze legal protections for consumers who suffer losses due to goods purchased online not in accordance with agreements. Using normative legal research methods and case studies, this study examines consumer protection regulations based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK). The results of the study show that consumers have the right to goods in accordance with the agreement and are entitled to compensation in the event of a violation. However, challenges such as the difficulty of claiming and returning goods procedures are still an obstacle. This study also found that the non-litigation mechanism through BPSK provides a fast and cheap alternative to dispute resolution. Effective law enforcement and supervision of business actors on e-commerce platforms are urgently needed to improve consumer protection in digital transactions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of cryptographic technology and the effectiveness of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies on countering Bitcoin transaction-based drug trafficking in Indonesia. Using a normative legal research method with a desk study approach, this study evaluates the contribution of cryptography to transaction security, challenges in monitoring, and weaknesses in AML policies in Indonesia. The results show that cryptographic technology enhances the security and efficiency of transactions through blockchain, but its anonymity is utilized in illegal activities. In addition, AML policies in Indonesia still face implementation challenges, such as low compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) principles and minimal supervision of cryptocurrencies. This research recommends strengthening regulations and international cooperation as strategic steps in tackling digital crime.

Abstract

"Land Information Letter" once played an important role in land registration, but their issuance often caused problems such as overlapping and lack of understanding by village heads regarding the legal basis for their issuance. The government continues to strive to improve the land registration system, one of which is by revising Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 to Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021.This research is a Doctrinal/normative research that adopts a statutory approach to analyze Land Information Letter. The data used are secondary data in the form of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and non-legal materials. Based on an in-depth analysis of the position of the “Land Information Letter” as proof of land ownership in the context of land registration in Indonesia, it can be concluded that the “Land Information Letter” does not provide a strong guarantee of legal certainty regarding land ownership. Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021, which changes the function of the “Land Certificate” to merely instructions in the land registration process, is expected to encourage the public to immediately take care of land registration and obtain stronger land title certificates. However, the implementation of this regulation needs to be carried out carefully and pay attention to the rights of vulnerable communities, as well as ensuring that they get sufficient understanding and information regarding changes in land registration regulations.

Abstract

Breach of contract is an act that harms the other party in various types of agreements, including loan agreements, leading to both material and immaterial losses for the agreed party. Therefore, this journal will examine the legal aspects of breach of contract in loan agreements through a study of Decision Number 686/Pdt.G/2021/Pn Mdn. The analysis focuses on two main research questions: first, the legal consequences arising from breach of contract in this loan agreement; and second, the basis for the judge's reasoning in issuing Decision Number 686/Pdt.G/2021/Pn Mdn. Using a normative approach, this research analyzes the decision based on relevant legislation and jurisprudence. The research findings are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the legal implications of breach of contract in Indonesian judicial practice, particularly regarding loan disputes, and contribute to an understanding of the judge's reasoning process in similar cases.

Abstract

The use of narcotics, psychotropic substances and other addictive substances has a huge impact if misused. However, on the other hand, these substances can provide benefits for the development of science and the treatment of disease if used according to the instructions of the authorities. Therefore, this scientific legal work discusses two main things: first, how the legal regulations relate to intermediaries in the sale and purchase of class I non-plant narcotics according to positive law, and second, how to apply criminal law to these perpetrators. This research uses a normative method with a statutory approach. Eradicating narcotics faces very complex obstacles, ranging from internal and external factors of perpetrators to the involvement of law enforcement officers in abuse. As a solution, the government needs to optimize the role of society to increase supervision and legal awareness, revise narcotics laws, and tighten supervision of the morality of law enforcement officers.

Abstract

The application of restorative justice in resolving minor crimes is increasingly receiving attention in Indonesia as a more humane alternative to the traditional criminal justice system. Resolving minor crimes using a restorative justice approach can be carried out if the conditions are met, such as the perpetrator admitting his actions and showing deep regret, and the victim or his family is willing to forgive. Apart from that, the community also supports deliberation, especially if the act is classified as a minor crime. If these conditions are met, law enforcement officials such as the police can use a restorative justice approach through mediation during the investigation process. The research method used is qualitative with a normative approach where the purpose of this research is to create balance in society. The use of traditional institutions in various regions also greatly supports the implementation of restorative justice, because this model is considered to be in accordance with the values of justice that have long been recognized and implemented in Indonesian society. Thus, restorative justice can be a more inclusive and just solution in resolving minor crimes in Indonesia.
