Abstract

The transformation of digital technology has changed the way public relations (PR) operates in various institutions, including the M. Basiuni Imran Islamic boarding school. This research aims to explore the use of social media as a strategic tool in building and strengthening the image of the M. Basiuni Imran Islamic boarding school. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and observing Islamic boarding school social media activities. The research results show that digital public relations plays an important role in creating interesting and relevant content, as well as interacting directly with the public through various platforms such as YouTube, Tik Tok, Instagram and Facebook. In addition, the findings indicate that the use of social media not only makes it easier to disseminate information, but also increases transparency and public trust in Islamic boarding schools. Through social media, the M. Basiuni Imran Islamic boarding school can strengthen relationships with the surrounding community and expand the reach of the programs they offer. Thus, Islamic boarding school public relations that is adaptive to digital technology can contribute significantly to building a positive image and relevance of educational institutions in the modern era.

Abstract

Film a medium communication used for sharing messages information to audience. Message contained in film is very diverse depending on genre film. In Indonesia, one of the film genres that is popular with the audience is religious-themed films. Religious films have information about da'wah messages that can be applied to life. A film called Air Mata Fatimah is based on a true story in social life in Indonesia, from North Sumatra. This film can be interpreted as a da'wah medium that contains demands, learning and guide for the audience. This research was explored qualitative, in the form of a documentation study of film media using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory analysis. The data collection technique is in the form of a document technique by means of screen shooting of scenes from the film script of Air Mata Fatimah, as well as references obtained through articles and journals. The results of this research are in the form of an analysis of da'wah messages conveyed through the characters of each scene in the film Air Mata Fatimah. This film has an implied meaning of the message of da'wah conveyed in the form of moral messages in life. Among them are fighting for the truth and his rights as a Muslim, sincerity, prayer and prayer asking for forgiveness and asking for protection from Allah SWT, and helping each other.

Abstract

The decline in the use of Javanese language among the younger generation in Sidorejo Hamlet, Limau Village, due to the influence of the environment and modern technology, which threatens the preservation of local languages and the cultural values contained in them. This research explores the role of intergenerational communication in preserving the local language in Sidorejo Hamlet. The purpose of this activity is to preserve the Javanese language through an interactive and fun approach involving children and teenagers. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews and observations. This research was conducted in Sidorejo Hamlet, Limau Village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin Regency. The informants in this study were children and adolescents in Sidorejo hamlet. The results show that a fun and interactive approach can increase children's interest in using Javanese. The conclusion of this study is the importance of the role of families, educational institutions, and the government in preserving local languages amid the challenges of globalization. This research contributes to identifying factors that influence the preservation of Javanese language in Sidorejo Hamlet and offers practical strategies to overcome them. The implications include the importance of a comprehensive approach involving families, educational institutions, and the government as the three main pillars in local language preservation.

Abstract

Social disparities between hamlets caused by economic differences, technology accessibility, and education levels have an impact on communication patterns and community interactions, where inequality in Access to information can strengthen social hierarchies, stereotypes, and social exclusion among community groups. This study aims to analyse the social gap between hamlets in community interaction through the sociology of communication perspective. The research method used is a qualitative approach with the type of phenomenology. Data collection techniques were participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. This research was conducted in Limau village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin Regency. The informants in this study were local village officials. The results show that social disparities, such as educational level differences, access to resources, and cultural traditions, create significant communication barriers. This leads to limited social interaction and the emergence of stereotypes and prejudices between Hamlet residents. However, there were also efforts by the community and local leaders to reduce these disparities through joint activities and intergroup dialogue. The study concludes that an in-depth understanding of the communication dynamics and social factors underlying the gaps can be the foundation for building more harmonious and inclusive interactions between hamlets. The results of this study make an important contribution to understanding the socio-cultural dynamics that occur in Limau Village with three culturally distinct hamlets. It recommends several approaches to reduce social inequality in Limau Village, including strengthening education programs and increasing community literacy to address the root of the problem, which is identified as a lack of understanding and knowledge.

Abstract

Verbal da'wah (da'wah bil oral) is a verbal communication method used by Islamic religious counselors to convey Islamic teachings, including the socialization of halal product certification. In Kejaksan District, Cirebon City, public awareness and business actors' compliance with halal certification still needs improvement. Religious counselors play a crucial role in providing an understanding of the urgency of consuming halal products in accordance with Islamic teachings and applicable regulations. Through a persuasive communication approach, logical arguments, emotional appeals, and ethical considerations are the primary strategies in verbal da'wah to increase public awareness and adherence to halal products. This study aims to describe the strategies employed by Islamic religious counselors in socializing halal certification, focusing on three aspects: (1) the presentation of logical arguments based on the Qur'an, hadith, and relevant regulations; (2) the emotional approach through inspirational stories and real-life experiences to build a connection with the community; and (3) ethical preaching that emphasizes politeness and persuasive methods to ensure message acceptance without resistance. This r esearch employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method and a case study design. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that religious counselors present logical arguments regarding the obligation of consuming halal products and their relationship to health and blessings. The emotional approach is implemented through inspirational narratives that foster empathy within the community. Meanwhile, ethical and persuasive preaching, as recommended in Surah An-Nahl: 125, ensures that the message is well received. This study recommends further exploration of the effectiveness of verbal da'wah in socializing halal certification through digital platforms, such as social media and Islamic educational applications. A comparative study in different regions is also suggested to assess the effectiveness of da'wah methods in diverse social and cultural contexts. The findings are expected to contribute to innovations in da'wah and expand the reach of halal certification socialization.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is important in life, including in marriage. Early marriage remains an issue in Indonesia, with various contributing factors. Islam views marriage as a positive thing to build a harmonious family. Effective communication plays an important role in building intimacy in early marriage couples. Uncertainty Reduction Theory is relevant to understanding how communication can reduce uncertainty and increase intimacy. This study aims to understand the process of Uncertainty Reduction Theory in Building Intimacy in Early Marriage in Argasunya Village, Harjamukti District, Cirebon City and to identify the strategies of Uncertainty Reduction Theory in Building Intimacy in Early Marriage in Argasunya Village, Harjamukti District, Cirebon City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This approach aims to explore and capture the social situation comprehensively, broadly, and deeply. Qualitative research produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behaviors. It focuses on social phenomena, feelings, and perceptions of participants. This approach was chosen to obtain complete information about building intimacy in early marriages in Argasunya Village. The data collection technique was carried out by three main methods, namely observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis in this study uses a descriptive analytical method consisting of three main stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of this study are that in Argasunya Village, Cirebon, early marriage is common. Couples use passive, active, and interactive communication strategies based on Uncertainty Reduction Theory to build intimacy. They adjust their strategies according to the stages of marriage, overcoming obstacles such as differences in background and uncertainty. It is hoped that these findings can add to the literature of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Bunga Bangsa Islamic University of Cirebon in particular. The implications of the results of this study show how early marriage couples in Argasunya Village build intimacy through tailored communication strategies based on Uncertainty Reduction Theory, providing valuable insights for the development of interventions that can improve young couples' relationships in specific religious and socioeconomic contexts. The recommendation is that the local government of Cirebon City, especially in Argasu Village, develop a mentoring program for early marriage couples that focuses on improving interpersonal communication skills with the Uncertainty Reduction Theory approach

Abstract

Da'wah rhetoric plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding and attitudes towards religious teachings, including enhancing religious moderation. KH Ahmad Nawawi, as the head of Pondok Pesantren Mambaus Sholihin Babakan Ciwaringin in Cirebon Regency, utilizes his da'wah to deliver messages of religious moderation relevant to contemporary challenges. Amidst the rise of extremism and intolerance, KH Ahmad Nawawi emphasizes a da'wah approach that integrates classical religious texts with contemporary issues, using a structured and logical method in his delivery. Through effective rhetoric, he aims to instill values of moderation, tolerance, and inclusivity among students, enabling them to apply balanced Islamic teachings in their daily lives. This research aims to examine the processes of Inventio (finding materials) and Ordo Collocatio (organization) in KH Ahmad Nawawi's da'wah rhetoric in enhancing religious moderation among students at Pondok Pesantren Mambaus Sholihin Babakan Ciwaringin, Cirebon Regency. This study employs a qualitative method, using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data drawing. The findings indicate that the Inventio and Ordo Collocatio processes in KH Ahmad Nawawi's da'wah rhetoric at Pondok Pesantren Mambaus Sholihin Babakan Ciwaringin are carried out meticulously and systematically to enhance religious moderation among students. He classical religious texts with contemporary knowledge, follows social issue developments, and combines in discussions with scholars and students. His da'wah is organized in a structured manner, beginning with engaging introductions followed by relevant evidence, making it easier for students to understand and apply the principles of moderation in their daily lives according to current contexts. It is hoped that these findings will enrich the literature of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Studies Program at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Bunga Bangsa Islamic University, Cirebon. This research makes a significant contribution to understanding the rhetorical aspects of moderate da'wah through an in-depth analysis of the process of inventio and the order of collocatio KH. Abstract

This study examines the Islamic public relations strategy implemented by the Student Press Organization (Student Press Institute or LPM) Dinamika in disseminating Islamic information to the academic community of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). The research observation was conducted at the LPM Dinamika headquarters using in-depth interview techniques. The rapid development of information technology and the rise of social media penetration demand that student organizations engaged in dakwah adapt effective communication methods to shape Islamic understanding among students. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on LPM Dinamika’s digital public relations activities through the Instagram platform. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with organization members, participatory observation of digital activities, and content analysis of published materials. The findings indicate that LPM Dinamika has successfully adopted Islamic public relations values in its digital communication practices by producing content that is informative, educational, and persuasive. This strategy reflects the application of core Islamic public relations principles such as truthfulness (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amānah), conveyance (tablīgh), and wisdom (faṭānah), as manifested in various content formats including Islamic articles, dakwah infographics, motivational quotes, and religious-themed storytelling videos. These public relations activities go beyond information delivery, fostering active student participation in dialogue, learning, and digital dakwah. The high level of audience engagement on LPM Dinamika's digital platforms highlights the effectiveness of its public relations strategy, particularly in building credibility and strengthening its reputation as a trusted campus press institution. This research contributes to the development of an Islamic public relations model in the digital era, especially in the context of student organizations at Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the patterns of da'wah communication in the modern era, particularly through the use of social media as a medium for disseminating Islamic messages. This study aims to analyze the da'wah communication strategies employed by Ustaz Hanan Attaki through the Instagram platform. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis method, this research examines the form, style, and effectiveness of the da'wah messages conveyed through both visual and narrative content on the @hanan_attaki account. The findings reveal that Ustaz Hanan Attaki utilizes simple and relatable language, engaging visual elements, and contemporary themes that resonate with the lives of younger generations. His communication strategies include a personal approach, storytelling techniques, and the integration of religious symbols with modern lifestyle elements. These findings suggest that the integration of da'wah and digital media can enhance the reach and appeal of religious messages, particularly among millennial and Gen Z audiences. This research is expected to contribute to the development of Islamic preaching strategies that are relevant to the dynamics of new media.

Abstract

This study examines the public relations role of the Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia/MUI) in building the organization's image and credibility through social media. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method and social media content analysis, the findings reveal that MUI has actively utilized various social media platforms to disseminate religious information, fatwas, and relevant programs, contributing to increased public engagement. Social media has proven effective in shaping MUI's image and credibility, particularly in raising public awareness and trust in the organization. The study recommends that MUI continue to strengthen its social media strategy to build organizational image and credibility, as well as to regularly monitor and analyze the effectiveness of its social media efforts. This research provides significant implications for MUI in leveraging social media to enhance its image and organizational credibility.
