Abstract

The Tamiang Islamic Kingdom is one of the oldest kingdoms on the east coast of Aceh, bordering Haru Bay and Kampai Island of Pangkalan Susu. Its north serves as the front line of defense in the Malacca Strait, part of the sovereignty of the Samudra Pasai Islamic Kingdom, in the 12th century AD. In 1350, the country of Tamiang faced the challenge of the expansion of Majapahit commandeered by Patih Gaja Mada, who wanted to unite all regions in the archipelago following the "Palapa Oath" during the authority of King Hayam Wuruk Mahapatih Ratu Tribhu-wanatunggadewi. This study used a descriptive qualitative research method, then collected data through literature study, document analysis, and utilizing historical evidence of the Tamiang kingdom on the east coast of Aceh. The results showed that the students' poor skills in reading and analyzing historical sources were due to the lack of usage of historical evidence as a source of local history learning. Therefore, this research also contributes to the adoption of historical evidence of the Tamiang kingdom on the east coast of Aceh as a historical learning source for high school students to improve the Use of Primary Source Evidence skills.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how implementing a reflective learning model affects students' metacognitive awareness in the context of Islamic Religious Education. A single-group pretest-posttest experimental design was employed, involving 62 participants divided into experimental and control groups. Data were gathered using a metacognitive awareness questionnaire comprising 20 items. The findings from the t-test analysis with a significance level of 0.001 revealed a significant disparity in metacognitive awareness between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group, which utilized the reflective learning model, exhibited a considerably more significant enhancement in metacognitive awareness compared to the control group that employed a traditional learning model. These suggest that using a reflective learning model positively influences students' metacognitive awareness in the context of Islamic Religious Education. The implications of this research emphasize the necessity of integrating reflective learning models into the teaching practices of Islamic Religious Education to promote students' metacognitive awareness

Abstract

This review examines China’s educational system the “two-track system” and rural education challenges through the lens of Bronfenbrenner's Ecology System Theory. Using a theoretical framework to review related literature can support readers in understanding the intricate interplay between societal factors, cultural influences, policy decisions, and specific issues. Therefore, this aims to understand how the ecological environment shapes rural education’s development until today, and the Ecological System Theory is used as a theoretical guidance. To find the potential answer to proposed research questions (RQ): RQ 1. What is the background of rural China and the "two-track system" of education? RQ 2. What is the difference between China's urban education and rural education? RQ 3.  How does the related environment influence China's educational system? By addressing this fundamental issue, a comprehensive review is provided by following the ecology system theory from the macro-system level to the micro-system

Abstract

This study aims to reduce drooling through oral motor exercises for cerebral palsy students in Special School in Padang, Indonesia. This study used quantitative research methods with a Single Subject Research (SSR) approach with A-B-A design from February to September 2021. The research data was collected by observing one child with cerebral palsy, recording events, and assessing oral motor exercise. All data was analyzed descriptively using visual graph analysis tools. Overall, the results showed that oral motor exercise effectively reduced drooling in cerebral palsy students. This was evidenced by the mean level obtained in the baseline-1 (A1) condition, which was 14.66; in the intervention condition (B), it decreased to 8.15; and in the baseline-2 (A2) condition, it again reduced to 3. Then, the results of data analysis in the conditions and between conditions also showed a tendency toward stability, an estimated directional tendency, and data trace and level changes that decreased positively. The percentage of overlap in the baseline-1 (A1) condition is 0%, while the percentage of overlap in the baseline-2 (A2) condition is 15 percent so the hypothesis can be accepted. These findings imply that the selection of oral motor exercises effectively reduces drooling in students with cerebral palsy

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of implementing Mandi Balimau Kasai local wisdom values in history education on the development of students' religious character. The research employs an experimental design with a pre-test and post-test one group design. The research subjects consist of 45 high school students in the Riau region. Data collection instruments in this study include questionnaires used to measure students' religious character. Data analysis methods involve both statistical analysis and descriptive analysis. Descriptive analysis is used to summarize students' religious character data before and after the treatment, providing a general overview of the changes in students' religious character. Statistical analysis includes paired t-tests and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that students' religious character in the pre-test stage significantly influences their religious character in the post-test stage. A positive regression coefficient of 0.75 suggests that an increase in religious character in the pre-test stage is positively correlated with an increase in religious character in the post-test stage. Furthermore, an R-squared value of 0.74 indicates that approximately 74% of the variability in religious character in the post-test stage can be explained by students' religious character in the pre-test stage. This research provides valuable insights into the role of local wisdom values in enhancing students' religious character. However, there are limitations to the study, including the focus on Mandi Balimau Kasai as the sole local wisdom in Riau and the research subjects limited to high school students. Therefore, a recommendation for future research is to broaden the scope by examining the effectiveness of implementing other local wisdom values in a broader context. Additionally, other factors influencing students' religious character, such as the social environment, religious education, and family influences, need to be considered. The results of this study can be beneficial in developing more effective curriculum and teaching strategies to enhance students' holistic religious character development.
