Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating popular English songs as a medium for improving vocabulary mastery among eighth-grade students. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 32 Semarang, involving 32 students from class VIII-B. A one-group pretest-posttest design was applied, allowing the researcher to evaluate the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the given treatment. The treatment involved two learning sessions utilizing the song “Blue” by Yung Kai, implemented through structured and interactive song-based learning activities. Data collection was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests that assessed both receptive and productive vocabulary knowledge. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, as the mean score increased from 62.19 (pre-test) to 85.69 (post-test). A paired sample t-test analysis using SPSS 26.0 confirmed a statistically significant difference with a p-value of 0.000. These findings suggest that using popular songs in English instruction is an effective strategy to support vocabulary development, student engagement, and retention of language in a meaningful and enjoyable context.

Abstract

Independence, and Emotional Intelligence on Learning Outcomes of Basic Accounting Subjects on Grade X Students of State Vocational High School in West Jakarta. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach. With an affordable population of 180 students from two schools, namely SMK Negeri 13 Jakarta Barat and SMK Negeri 17 Jakarta Barat. The sample in this study was 119 respondents with proportional random sampling technique and the Isaac and Michael formula. The data collection method in this study used a questionnaire method. This study uses data analysis techniques, namely multiple regression equations, data analysis requirements tests (test for normality and linearity), hypothesis tests (T test and F test) and coefficients of determination. Normality test with Kolmogorov Smirnov on both variables has a value of 0.200. With the results of the linearity test on Learning Creativity, Learning Independence and Emotional Intelligence worth >0.001. The F test is worth 628.116 and the T test on the variable of learning creativity is worth 23.468, learning independence variable is worth 30.986 and the emotional intelligence variable is worth 23.787. The result of the multiple regression equation is Y = 0,081 + 0,288(X1) + 0,395(X2) + 0,299 (X3). The results of this study indicate a significant influence between learning creativity, learning independence, and emotional intelligence on learning outcomes, this is proven by the coefficient of determination value of  0.942, which means that 94.2% of the learning outcomes variables are related simultaneous can be explained by the learning creativity, learning independence and emotional intelligence while the remaining 5.8% is influenced by other factors not examined by researchers.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren sebagai lembaga Pendidikan Islam yang dipimpin oleh kyai memiliki pendekatan pendidikan yang tidak hanya fokus pada aspek akademis, tetapi juga membina dan membentuk karakter santri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pembinaan karakter disiplin santriwati di Asrama 10 Hurun Inn, mengidentifikasi peran pengurus dalam membina santriwati yang kurang disiplin, dan memberikan wawasan tentang sistem pembinaan yang efektif. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumen tasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembinaan yang efektif meliputi keteladanan, pembiasaan, pendekatan spiritual dan personal, serta pengawasan yang efektif. Pengurus berperan sebagai pemimpin, motivator, penjamin keamanan, edukator, dan pembina. Faktor pendukung pembentukan karakter disiplin meliputi kesadaran diri santriwati, aturan yang jelas, lingkungan positif, dan dukungan dari teman dan pengurus. Sementara itu, faktor penghambatnya adalah latar belakang santri dan kurangnya kesadaran diri.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of relevance between the Construction Management and Budget Plan curriculum in the Construction Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNJ, and the work competencies of Construction Quantity Surveyors. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The data analysis results show that the relevance level between the Construction Management Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Quantity Surveyor competencies is 51.5%, while between the Budget Plan CLOs and Quantity Surveyor competencies it is 72.7%. Among the Construction Management CLO indicators, the concept of Earned Value (calculating BCWP, BCWS, ACWP, CV, SV, PI) is the most relevant indicator to Quantity Surveyor competencies. Among the Budget Plan CLO indicators, 'Students calculate the BOQ and Recap for a simple house construction project' is the most relevant indicator to Quantity Surveyor competencies. Based on these results, the Construction Management and Budget Plan curriculum of the Construction Engineering Education Study Program at Jakarta State University is Moderately Relevant (MR) to the work competencies of Construction Quantity Surveyors.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh motivasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis,  dan kecerdasan interpersonal terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik SMKN 50 Jakarta Jurusan Pemasaran. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner dengan skala Likert enam poin dan data sekunder dari data resmi sekolah terkait. Karakteristik sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SMKN 50 Jakarta Jurusan Pemasaran kelas XI Bisnis Ritel 1 dan XI Bisnis Ritel 2 periode 2023/2024 yang sudah menyelesaikan mata pelajaran Pengelolaan Bisnis Ritel.  Pengolahan data menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS 24 Dengan menggunakan 72 sampel responden.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya fenomena kecurangan akademik, terutama sejak peralihan ke pembelajaran daring akibat pandemi Covid-19, Kecurangan akademik mencakup tindakan seperti menyontek, plagiarisme, dan bekerja sama saat ujian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pressure berpengaruh terhadap academic fraud, rationalization berpengaruh terhadap academic fraud, opportunity berpengaruh terhadap academic fraud, dan penyalahgunaan teknologi informasi berpengaruh terhadap academic fraud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan model kuesioner atau survei. Populasi merupakan mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Negeri Jakarta Angkatan 2022 – 2024. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah proportional random sampling dengan jumlah 150 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pressure tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap academic fraud, rationalization berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap academic fraud, opportunity tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap academic fraud, dan penyalahgunaan teknologi informasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap academic fraud. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi tambahan dalam pengembangan kajian di bidang pendidikan, dapat memberikan informasi bagi institusi pendidikan untuk mencegah academic fraud, meningkatkan kesadaran integritas akademik bagi mahasiswa Pendidikan Akuntansi sebagai calon pendidik, serta membantu dosen memahami faktor-faktor pendorong kecurangan guna mendorong upaya pencegahan yang lebih efektif.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of Iqro’ block and puzzle educational tools to introduce Hijaiyah letters to student’s at Griya Qur’an Raudhatul Ilmi. The research aims to determine the use of Iqro’ blocks and puzzle’s in teaching Hijaiyah letters, evaluate their effectiveness in enhancing children's recognition of these letters, and assess their practicality in the learning process. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, this study comprises five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results show that the Iqro’ blocks and puzzle significantly improve student’s ability to recognize Hijaiyah letters through interactive and enjoyable learning methods. The validation from experts indicated that the educational tool is highly feasible, achieving an average score of 4.76. Teachers also noted increased engagement and motivation among students during lessons utilizing the Iqro’ blocks and puzzle. This research underscores the importance of using innovative educational tools in early childhood education to enhance the learning experience and improve literacy skills.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and students’ perceptions of the Teacher-Centered Learning (TCL) method with student engagement among high school students in Padang City. This research employed a quantitative correlational design with 206 students selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Student Engagement Scale by Fredricks et al. (2004) adapted by Sa’adiyah & Qudsyi (2016), the General Self-Efficacy Scale (Novrianto et al., 2019), and a perception scale of the TCL method developed by the researcher. Data analysis was conducted using the Product Moment correlation. The results showed a significant relationship between self-efficacy and students’ perceptions of the TCL method with student engagement. Correlation analysis indicated that self-efficacy had a positive and significant relationship with student engagement (r = 0.661; p < 0.001), and students’ perceptions of the TCL method also had a positive and significant relationship with student engagement (r = 0.540; p < 0.001). The product moment analysis further revealed that both predictor variables together explained 46.8% of the variance in student engagement (R = 0.684; R² = 0.468; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that self-efficacy and students’ perceptions of the TCL method play an important role in shaping student engagement among high school students in Padang City.

Abstract

Persepsi siswa memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar guru, karena dapat menjadi dasar bagi guru dalam merancang pengalaman belajar yang sesuai kebutuhan serta strategi pembelajaran yang variatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi siswa terhadap keterampilan mengajar guru matematika di SMA Negeri 13 Samarinda, yang meliputi delapan aspek: keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran, menjelaskan, bertanya, memberikan penguatan, menggunakan variasi, mengelola kelas, membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil, serta mengajar kelompok kecil maupun perorangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah enam siswa kelas XI-6 yang dipilih berdasarkan kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan didukung dengan tes sebagai penentu subjek, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa pada kategori tinggi memiliki persepsi positif terhadap seluruh keterampilan mengajar guru. Siswa kategori sedang juga memberikan penilaian positif, namun dipengaruhi motivasi dan suasana hati, sehingga keterlibatan mereka masih kurang dibandingkan kategori tinggi. Sementara itu, siswa kategori rendah menunjukkan persepsi lebih pasif; pemahaman materi sangat bergantung pada tingkat kesulitan dan kondisi emosional, serta menilai gaya penyampaian guru yang tegas kurang nyaman. Secara keseluruhan, keterampilan mengajar guru terlaksana dengan baik, tetapi belum sepenuhnya mampu mendorong partisipasi aktif seluruh siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the forms of climate variability and the adaptation strategies employed by fishing communities to sustain their livelihoods. The primary focus of the research is the fishing community in Gampong Alue Deah Teungoh, located in the Meraxa sub-district of Banda Aceh City, a coastal village predominantly inhabited by fisherfolk. A qualitative case study approach was used to explore this issue in depth. Findings reveal that the fishing community in Gampong Alue Deah Teungoh has developed a range of adaptation strategies in response to climate variability affecting their livelihood systems. These strategies are interpreted through Scoones’ Livelihood Framework, which includes livelihood engineering such as intensification and extensification (e.g., optimizing and expanding fishing crews), livelihood diversification (engaging in multiple income-generating activities), and spatial strategies (e.g., migration). Major climate-related challenges identified include changing rainfall patterns, high waves, coastal flooding, and unpredictable fishing seasons. These climate stressors have led to reduced fish catch and damage to coastal settlements. In response, the community has adopted sustainable coping mechanisms, such as aquaculture, coastal tourism initiatives, and the utilization of both economic and social assets. Environmentally friendly natural resource management, skills enhancement, and support from social networks also play significant roles in strengthening their resilience to climate change.
