Abstract

Students’ Perceptions of Project Based Learning in Democratic Voice: Interdisciplinary Approarch in Citizenship Education and Islamic Religious Education.[vp1]  Objectives: Through the theme of voice of democracy, the school designs project-based learning through an interdisciplinary approach to the subjects of citizenship education and Islamic religious education. This study aims to analyze students' perceptions of the project's learning based on perceptions of interest, motive, responsibility and objectivity. Methods: This research is a type of survey research with data collection through questionnaires, in-depth interviews and observations. The questionnaire was compiled based on a five-point Likert scale which was distributed randomly to 147 respondents in the form of students. Data analysis on the questionnaire used SEM (structural equality modeling) analysis with the SMART PLS 4.0 program. Findings: The results of this study are 1). The perception of interest negatively affects the objectivity of the election of the student council president. Awareness and interest of students need to be increased through learning and programs that increase student motivation. 2). The perception of motives and responsibilities positively affects objectivity and interest. Conclusion: Personal and group interests must be avoided in order to provide a sense of responsibility for students towards the objectivity of electing the student council chairman. Keywords: students perceptions, democratic voice, interdisiplinary approarch, citizenship education.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024106

Abstract

Study Comparative of Creative Assignments, Participatory Collaborative Learning, and Learning Satisfaction in Digital & Non-Digital Learning Media. Objectives: This study aims to comparative of creative assignments, Participatory Collaborative Learning, and learning satisfaction in Digital & Non-Digital Learning. Methods:  The study employed experimental and survey methods with a sample of seven State Aliyah Madrasah schools in East Jakarta. Each school consisted of two groups using digital learning media and two groups using non-digital media, randomly selected in the twelfth grade. Research instruments were previously tested for validity and reliability, and data analysis was conducted using the mean difference test (t-test). Findings:  The findings are: (1) The creative assignment results in the group using digital media are higher than the non-digital media. (2) The participatory-collaborative learning activity is more active in the group using non-digital media than the digital media. (3) The student learning satisfaction in the group using non-digital media is higher than the digital media. Conclusion: This indicates that both digital and non-digital learning media have their respective advantages and disadvantages. Teachers are required to design creative tasks that follow learning objectives because different learning objectives will produce different learning outcomes even though the learning media is the same. Teachers must focus on determining the learning objectives of creative assignments and selecting the appropriate media. Keywords: creative assignment, participatory collaborative learning, learning satisfaction, digital and non-digital media.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024129

Abstract

Environmental Education Lesson Study: A Practical Analysis of Science Learning and Its Impact on Students' Environmental Attitudes. Objective: This study aimed to examine the implementation of an environmental education (EE) lesson study conducted by science teachers and to analyse its influence on students' environmental attitudes. Method: The methodology of research utilised a comprehensive approach that combined qualitative and quantitative from direct observations of the lesson study implementation in schools in the Serpong District from August 2023 to February 2024, a focused discussion group with six teachers, and environmental attitude online questionnaires with 406 students voluntarily participating in this survey.  Finding: The findings indicate that the environmental education lesson study employs a framework of independent practice and open participation. While the planning and doing phases are managed independently by teachers from model schools, the observation and discussion phases actively involve educators from various schools, facilitating participation in hybrid formats. The students' environmental attitudes are not influenced by the activities of teachers within the lesson study. Instead, the type of school attended plays a critical role in shaping environmental attitudes. Students from eco-schools and those who prioritise environmental education as a distinct subject demonstrate considerably more positive environmental attitudes than those from institutions integrating environmental issues within their science learning. Conclusion: The environmental education lesson study has enhanced students' environmental attitudes. However, there is a need for a specific and holistic approach to environmental education to foster positive environmental attitudes among students effectively. Keywords: attitude, environmental, education, lesson study, science learning.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024134

Abstract

The Role of Technology in Enhancing Students' Digital Literacy. Objective: To ascertain the function of technology integration in augmenting digital literacy proficiency and to explore the mediating influence of heutagogy in elucidating the correlation between technology integration and digital literacy. Methods: A quantitative method was utilized to examine data from student responders in the "Islamic Religious Education" curriculum at five campuses in Yogyakarta. Data was gathered using internet surveys. The PLS-SEM model was employed to examine direct and mediated effects, as well as multigroup analysis to investigate any discrepancies in test outcomes. Findings: The inclusion of technology does not immediately influence students' digital literacy. Heutagogy effectively facilitates the impact of technology integration on enhancing digital literacy. The incorporation of technology intended to improve digital literacy among final-year students exhibits a detrimental effect, which can be mitigated through heutagogical intervention. Conclusion: The findings corroborate prior research emphasizing the significance of policy context, culture, and student demographics as determinants affecting the efficacy of technology integration in enhancing digital literacy. Keywords: digital literacy, heutagogy, higher education, learning, islamic religious education, technology integration.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i3.2024116
